  • Don't fight corruption, fight poverty. Sola Kuti explained the much eluded answer to corruption, taking it deep to the point where most miss it - The very root cause of corruption, its true definition, our roles, and how to best react to corruption.
    Sola Kuti is a politician and entrepreneur. He studied Business information systems with human resource management at the Middlesex University Business School in London, and graduated with a 2:1.
    His company Afriproducts Ltd which he founded in 1999 has pioneered many innovative ideas in the last 16 years.
    The business areas include: A Fresh Juice and Smoothie Chain, Luxury goods, Business Development, Consultancy, Telecoms and infrastructure, Oil and Gas, Exports and Trading.
    The technology arm of Afriproducts in a joint venture pioneered the smaller denomination mobile recharge vouchers in Nigeria and also launched the first ever e - commerce enabled website in Nigeria circa 1999.
    He served as a special assistant to Senator Toks Ogunbanjo in the Nigeria Senate 2003-2007.
    He aspired to be governor of Lagos in 2015, and ran an impressive campaign.
    Sola continues to propagate for more young people to participate in politics, and currently mentors young entrepreneurs.

    I am from South Africa and this is what I tell people everytime we debate what is happening in Africa, I tell them "We are playing a game that we don't know the rules to"! The game is Democracy & the rule is it comes with corruption!

    Only people with strong character n integrity can take such a paycut e.g. Nelson Mandela. Most commendable coz it's not always abt money. Thank you for exemplary behaviour.

    Imagine if the government was committed to fighting poverty? This was in 2015 and Nigeria is 70 times worse. It's so disheartening and exhausting.

    You have made the point. If everyone in the country does their parts, no doubt our country will be great in a night. We all blame the leaders, but the leaders were once an ordinary man. Every sector, businesses are exploiting each other. May Almighty God saves us.

    You cannot win the fight against poverty without reducing "corruption of greed." The very nature of such corruption inevitably increases poverty.
