I hope the people at Ready at Dawn will create their own team outside Meta and make better games for PCVR/Quest/PSVR etc. As much as we love our Quests... Meta is acting like the EA of VR... 😥
PC VR will never die with UEVR and Unity injector, it may not be native vr support but alot of major AAA games have 6DOF controls now, thanks to flat 2 vr discord members. Most Made for VR games these days are boring arcade-like shooters or quirky detective style games and it all feels the same to me. Currently playing cyberpunk again in vr is insane and I honestly have no interest in most native vr games out now.
The Saddest thing to happen to the VR industry since I am a Part of It. They made The highest Quality, and highest Productiom Quality VR Games. They‘re the only Studio to get that Flat-Screen Quality to VR and the hope for VR & Quest to finally get a Massive title to get People excited. We still have some great Games coming but nothing like what Ready At Dawn could make, even potentially being Half Life Alyx competition.
COMPOUND is brilliant, I love this game on Quest, and strongly recommend for PS5 fans that like DOOM or Wolfenstein Dude Ready at Dawn shutting down is really so sad, I love this studio, played God of War spinoff on my PSP
Been waiting FOREVER for them to come out with a Quest banger, a Lone Echo port, or maybe the next installment like what Sanzaru did with AW. Every year I was like "This will be the one!", then to hear this news... I'm down....
@@harrythewarlord Yeah, but they're not like Lone Echo... The closes thing that would scratch that itch I guess would be a new Red Matter title... which is in the works I'm sure - but we could've had both :(
Ready at dawn is one i can not understand, i dont know if a third party would of been worth it to bring on to develop quest versions of the lone echo series but echo arena looked and played amazing. A big loss for high quality vr
Unlike HTC, I'm actually interested to see what Pico comes up with. I'd be most interested in this as a pcvr headset, so what I'm hoping for is Quest 3 similar specs with displayport.
Didn’t know I was lucky to have been able to secure an adapter… I wasn’t even too excited when I saw they were in stock. I just said “oh, it’s back in stock? Let’s buy one then!” Not knowing they’re now hard to get your hands on
Okay so I've completely been out of the VR game for months now, close to a year, because shit was getting beyond stale and uninteresting as a PCVR enthusiast. I got my trusty CV1 on standby and that's it. But I've only now hear that not only did Sony announce a PCVR adapter for PSVR2, which I've been begging for since before the launch of the HMD, but it's ALREADY OUT and people are USING IT. And it's not even bad!! Holy smokes!! I feel my blood actually pumping again. I'm still gonna have to wait because I'm not shelling out 600 bucks for this, but once prices come down and stock is available, I might just be able to hop back into proper VR with PSVR2 on my PC. I'm genuinely excited. Fantastic stuff, wow
SEE?? PSVR2 IS NOT DEAD!! Haha Compound and Outta Hand seems like fun titles. Really unfortunate about Ready at Dawn. I really need to jump on these Rift PC exclusive games at some point. The only one I tried so far is Asgard's Wrath 1.
@Gamingwithmatteo311 Hey are you aware of the “VR Games Showcase” channel? They just dropped a video today showcasing 15+ official games trailers. Channel only has 1.5k subs but looks like an official events channel with new game news coming from their event. There is hitman 3 gameplay and new games they put up QR codes to get to the preorder page on meta app.
Correct, I want to avoid Meta, as much as I would never buy a Lego video game, both are silly. I have a PSVR2 and I'm fine with waiting for my adaptor to come later this month. I can still use it on my PS5 and I have my Pimax 8KX.
I'm surprised at how many good games keep coming out for Quest, on a weekly basis. When I look at the top game sales chart on my xbsx, it's almost all previous gen games, shovelware, and EA sports games.
I heard about Ready At Down closing a few days ago and was REALLY let down! I was really hoping for a return to Lone Echo at some point in the future but that will never happen now. I actually like Lone Echo 1 and2 a bit more than Halflife Alyx and I played them both on a Valve Index.
The Ready at Dawn news really sucks. I never played Lone Echo 1 or 2 (I don't do PC VR), but I always wanted to. And they were clearly talented developers making high quality games. And why TF would Meta buy them only to close them in a couple years? Meta is becoming the Microsoft of the VR industry. Speaking of, I recently heard Tango Gameworks (the makers of Ghostwire Tokyo and Hi-fi Rush, who Microsoft bought then shut down) were purchased by another publisher. I'd love to see the same thing happen to Ready at Dawn, but I'm not optimistic. It would be an amazing pickup for Sony, and make sense since they'd worked very closely with RaD before, but I don't think they'd be willing to make that big of an investment in VR at the moment.
We may never know what Meta getting serious about VR gaming would look like because it hasn't been tried. Yes Meta SPENDS loads of money doing everything BUT VR gaming, and if they ever get serious about VR gaming again I might pick something up. The Q3s will fail with freznel lenses and mixed reality because it is the opposite of what everyone who hasn't picked up a Q3 is looking for. Every CZcamsr has been raving about the colors and wider FoV, hopefully you can get a bluetooth adapter and give us a proper rundown on the PSVR2 on PC.
RaD, wtf, just based on their timelines they had to have been close to something.... Lone Echo's were absolutely stellar, some of the best games made specifically for VR. Sad day, hope they all bounce back together somewhere.
Thanks for all the game news - always interested in what is coming out for VR. Not interested on jumping onto the Sony bandwagon to use their PSVR headset on my PC. I will stay with what I am using for right now.
How is not including Bluetooth on the adapter for pc not a Sony issue? When they sell a product that then requires people to buy a Bluetooth adapter just to get it working it's Sony's fault. Most pcs dont have Bluetooth or have subpar Bluetooth.
When I had my PC built I request "the best Bluetooth I can get" I wouldn't want a cheap Bluetooth adapter included, it would just drive up the price. Same as the cable, I'll get my own cable thanks, just give me the thing I need. I don't trust the quality of add-ons in the box.
Since Meta bought Downpour interactive Onward has been going downhill and most of the staff got laid off, fortunately they're making their own game now. Hopefully Ready at Dawn staff will also go their own way and revive PCVR. It's as if Meta is intent on killing the best PCVR studios.
@Verociity it may look like an attempt to kill pcvr but in truth they give 2 craps about pcvr. They acquire studios on a semi gamble. It's paid off with some like sanzaru but not everyone. As it stand there just isn't a large enough player base on pcvr for developers to invest any $$$
Such a shame about ready at dawn. I played every one of their games and for ages I was a regular echo combat/arena player, had some amazing connections with people in the lobies and felt it was the beginning of the of something like oasis from ready player one. Meta have lost over 50 billion in VR since they started but they let the best developer fade away after buying them. Then create their metaverse, meta horizons the Wii sports hang out of VR what a joke.
For sure your right about the,"SCUMMY SCALPERS." I tried buying the adapter about an hour after release on amazon canada, nope, bestbuy, nope, gamestop, nope, walmart, nope. So yup SCUM got there hands on it. Canada sells out within an hour and a half.

It is a shame that the meta-quest3 just doesn’t have the power to hold any real games. Otherwise, despite what Mateo 311 wants you to believe about ported games not being “real VR games” lmfao Mark Zuckerberg would have dumped a lot more money into porting games to VR just like his empty promises on Grandtheft auto and his mediocre, but still good version of resident evil four. Unfortunately it’s a weak device. There will never be a chance to play No man’s sky (for example ) on the meta-quest with it’s very limited, standalone capabilities. So enjoy game after game of eggshell shading graphics May be in five years quest will be able to produce quality graphics ,but I’m pretty sure they said that five years ago lol.😈
