I dead watching this. I’ve lived in Iloilo for five years as a kid and this guy speaks it better than I can... not to mention his mannerism... he’s more Ilonggo than I am 🤦🏻♂️
The language has a mixture of tagalog, bisaya and its own uniqueness (referring to words that are only native to the language itself) I am from Cebu and I understand 90% of what he said. By the way People from Manila would probably laugh at this Video title because libog means another thing to them. 😂
You are so fluent not only in speaking but also in intonation and facial expressions. If we will not see who is speaking we can say the one who is speaking is a native ilonggo. ☺
I've been watching this for couple of times but I'm still entertained by how an American man learned to speak Hiligaynon. Even though I do not fully understand Hiligaynon as I grew being a Tagalog speaker or Taglish I should say but the way you show your facial expressions and gestures you really show how amazingly fluent you are in speaking in Hiligaynon.
Nalingaw gid ko pamati sa imo ....i was so entertained listening to you .im so impressed how you know so many words in different dialects in Negros, panay and cebu islands of the Philippines. I can not understand Aklonon dialect .my grand mother is from Aklan . I m from Negros occidental.
Over a hundred language , dialects and subdialects in our country. I can speak only 7 of it but can understand around 5 more though can't speak it. Nice to know that you can speak the language of our people. It's the easiest way to understand the people.
No his not, he is a native american a lot of american in iloilo speak ilonggo or hiligaynon because of thier religion they are mormons and they are friendly too thats why easy for them to learn because anytime all the time they always talk to the locals often as they can so that they can learn and understand ilonggo
Impressive comparison between different dialects in the Visayas region. The way you're telling your story in Ilonngo has no traces that you're an English native speaker. I salute you man for learning the dialect :-)
Actually he don't speak Tagalog/Filipino.. he speak hiligaynon one of the language in the Philippines.. Edit: sorry! Next time I need to understand first before commenting...
Proud Aklanon Here. We have the most unique dialect. We have EA, EI, EI, EO, EU, of which only few people can pronounce. Only locals. But ironically we can understand hiligaynon, cebuannon and more. "Abong Saeamat" = Maraming Salamat. "Eobog"=Higa.
You're absolutely amazing! I served in Malibu and Iloilo and never learned aklanon. My ilonggo was absolutely funny, although I tried hard to do the accent the best I could.
Wow! Im so impressed the way you speak the dialects. Your accent, intonations and pitch so perfect! How many years did you learn? You speak like the locals. I noticed while you' re speaking you're doing the mannerisms and idiosyncrasies of the Filipinos so unbelivable.
I'm a filipino and I can only understand 40% of what he's saying. It's such a shame for a full blooded Filipino like me to know only tagalog and english while there are 189 language in the Philippines. Planning to learn other language in the Future! Pag yamanin natin ang ating sariling wika! ❤
Wow..!! Ilonggo.. 😍😍😍 My heart went Oppss.. 😍😍😂Pilipino ko pero Ilonggo,Bisaya(dyutay lang) Tagalog. na bal an ko ya aw.? 😍😍😂 quarantine brought me here.. 😷😷 Rice field (Talamnan) Bacolod.. 😍😍
I'm impressed! Had I listened only to the video without watching it, I would have thought the guy was an Ilongo. I understood some of the words since I am a native Waray speaker. The accent and intonation sounds to me like the real one. Good job. Btw, humay in Waray is unmilled rice or palay in Tagalog 😁
Your ilonggo and the delivery and the refusal to use english and sticking to ilonggo made me subscribe. You were thinking of the word palayan, 'ugma-an', basakan. Kabalo ka man gani mag estorya sa ilonggo bisan tono timo mabatian ko man. Pirti kusog ilonggo timo, di na pad dulaun ha boss 😎
I don't speak a word of hiligaynon but your delivery is so impressive and expression to booth. I understood everything you said, You're a gifted individual.
Kami pud gani mismo na bisayang dako malibog kondi gani malipong pagsabot sa ubang klase nga bisaya. Ang bisaya gud kai may lain-laing version sa kada lugar o isla. Tinood ang ilonggo kai tam-is na iba na klase na bisaya. Ang imo paagi makasabot ka na nasuko sila kai gakunot na ang agtang og siga na ang mata.
The way he tells a story is the way an Ilonggo tells a story - intonations, pitch, accents, mannerisms, gestures, eye contact and all. Really amazing!
I know right!! Makes it even more amazing
I dead watching this. I’ve lived in Iloilo for five years as a kid and this guy speaks it better than I can... not to mention his mannerism... he’s more Ilonggo than I am 🤦🏻♂️
