- A compilation of several videos filmed during the battle of Fallujah that occurred in November and December 2004. This joint American, British, and Iraqi offensive, called "Operation Phantom Fury" . . . was led by the U.S. Marines who were heavily involved in the very intense fighting that resulted in a vital victory during this critical period of the Iraq War.

my buddy died here November 19th, 2004. died saving 2 others when running back into a courtyard to save them after being left behind. ran around a corner and got shot twice in between the 2 side of his vest under the armpit. good guy. i really hope this marine is enjoying heaven. may he forever rest in peace.

I just retired out of the military I was in Iraq and Afghanistan a few times. Army 75th, I have combat since 2015 but I still deal with a lot of depression something I never had before combat, i feel for the dudes who were in Iraq from 2004-2007
It’s gunna get worse before it gets better.

Why
I was scared in Ramadi and Fallujah...but after a while slept like a baby when the bombs fell. I want to thank my brothers in arms for keeping me alive while operating our drones...The hunting was good! As for the brothers who did not make it, you will never be forgotten, never!!! Thank you for your sacrifice...RIP
Your more than welcome brother!!! Stay blessed💯💜
Shit, I don't think anybody can blame you for being scared when first getting over there. You ALL have balls of steel. I thank them all for their sacrifices both big and small, ALL of them. True heros.
I spent two tours in anbar province and spent many nights in ramadi. Good times
Hi , do u know that area after u left, ate shit by ISIS . By the way this area right now welcomes you. Your companies are establishing their infrastructure.
Thanks to whom destroyed their area in 2014 so they made up their mind and chose peace instead of fight.
Thank you for your service from a Brother in Arms, Viet Nam combat medic.
Anybody remember Lcpl. Postens??? He got killed by a vehicle rollover on our way in...Then on our way home and in Guam an Abraham's fell off a landing craft...killed the driver and a Corpral....Driver went down with the tank 90 feet to the bottom of the damn harbor...Shit was freaking nuts...
The amazing thing about Fallujah is that the people don't like anyone that isn't from their town. Not even Baghdadi people like going there.
Was in this battle...was one of the marine tanks with 3/5, 3/1, and 1/6 I think in karma after. 2nd tanks C co. W3 tank. Oh lord may the fallen live in endless peace and love and all touched by this conflict
The Marine at 6:08 has the right attitude. I would serve with him any day. He respects the enemy and what they are capable of. I never understood guys who had a reckless cowboy attitude and often times had a complete disregard of sound military tactics for the sake of looking tough. A gunshot wound or blast injury because you were being stupid is the extreme opposite of tough.
Yup
Cowboy guys get humbled real quick in the field, trust me. I've seen it first hand. Once shit gets serious you see them pipe right the fuck down.

This is actually the Second Battle of Fallujah. Operation Vigilant Resolve was the First Battle of Fallujah in April of 2004. American losses for this operation were 95 dead and 560 wounded with insurgent losses of 1,200 dead and 1,500 captured.
Which is why operation Phantom Fury included more units. One being the First Cavalry Division which fought alongside the Marines. Many other supporting units and the Iraqi Army were involved in the success of operation Phantom Fury. I was in that battle apart of the 2 /7 CAV (2nd Battalion 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Divison). My Battalion took no loses during the intense fighting that battle. We killed lots of insurgent forces better us than them.

I'm saying that the stats say 50%- 75% of the fighters in Fallujah where foreigners, thats only in Fallujah during the battle, most of the local insurgents snuck out leaving the foreigners behind, when the marines and army units searched the bodies and houses, they found foreign pass ports and papers all over

The fighting isn't really the scary shit, you really react and fall back on your training, almost like its second nature. The scary shit is when nothing is happening and you are just waiting for it to kick off.

What if American's had pants that had built in tourniquets in several different sections of the pants (ankle, calf, above knee, thigh) so if someone does step on an IED, the medics and such dont have to scramble to get their tourniquets out. Every second counts right. Just an idea while watching this.
Amazing footage of our USA warfighters! It makes me very proud to see my brothers in arms kick ass! I never had to go into a hot conflict. Was loaded up and ready to go to Iraq in 1978 from Germany. Thankfully I did not go. I am proud of our Marines & Army brothers! 101st Screaming Eagles 1977-81. Thanks to all the Warfighters & family members of those who gave the ultimate price!
Same here. We had Mc Chord AF on our runway @ Ft. Lewis, WA 6-20 1979 -to- 6-19-1982 we were a rapid deployment force, anywhere in the world fully operational within a week. We were always told we are going to middle east. When I got out my head was held high, knowing I served my country with dignity & pride 3 days after graduating from highschool. when I got out I still wasnt old enough to drink legally or buy alcohol.😆😅 I was forced into retirement @ 47, but I'm glad I didnt have to fight in a war, especially after my brother came back from middle east and my son coming home after him serving. But also reading and hearing about all the trauma from shelling, seeing your buddy get killed, fighting for your life in a gun battle or going through so much adrenaline rushes at long lengths of time can really mess a person up pretty bad. So I find myself very fortunate in the combat aspect. My son did 13 years as a corpsmen stationed in Okinawa, Japan & @ Camp Pendleton, San Diego, Ca. And my brother was working as a contractor in both Iraq wars.
already made look up BlackHawk Integrated Tourniquet System (ITS)

What was the true goal of the Iraq war? no one knows what it was waged for, in my openion it was waged to secure Israel, but coule be otherwise.
I remember watching this battle live on the news as it was happening and thinking to myself "if only I was 18!" I was just a few years short of it at the time, and I wanted to go. Now I'm in the Navy, been in for a while, and I've seen the devastation both physically and mentally that such heavy urban battles do to our Marine brothers. We live, work, and sleep side by side with them, but I haven't experienced any of the hell they do on the ground. The closest I get to the action is the flight deck of a carrier floating in the Persian Gulf.
+Commander Shepherd Well if you or anyone wanna experience "hell in the ground" you don't really have to go so far in a war. ,Just go to the outskirs or the subsurban areas. Find the near drug dealer and approach him looking him severly. Once near tell him "You are selling drugs Im gonna call the police". he will inmediatly attack you like a beast.
Thank you for your service. Truthfully tho you just sold me to the marines or the army. Haha

I was 18 when 9/11 happened. Had been in the Air Force 3 months and was training to be an air traffic controller. I joined the Air Force because I was obsessed with aviation and suddenly 3 months in and the country is under attack. That was weird af. I still volunteered for both of my deployments though. Thought I was going to Iraq (Baghdad International Airport) both times but got lucky and instead ended up in Qatar and then UAE. Vacation spots😂
Most of this video of the battle was just a diversionary attack, while the Marines, and the 1st ID prepared to enter the City from 2 seperate positions, splitting the city between them.
When they entered, and began clearing the city, building by building, these guys fell back, and prevented the insurgents from escaping out the back.
You see the Marines enter their half of the City towards the end of the video.

A war for nothing 🔥💔
Operation Phantom Fury . The Army units in that operation that where the spearhead into the city and occupied the biggest zone of the attack was the Army 1st Cavalry Divison. 2/7 Cav ,known as "Garry Owen" was one of the Battalions that fought in operation Phantom Fury along with Marine units. Among many other special Forces units that had small roles the biggest part of the fighting was conducted by the 1st Cavalry Division and the Marine MEU units and iraqi Army. With supporting units airforce , and special Forces. The military has detailed information of the units in the attack and how what they did if you are still in military and have access to the lessons learned from that battle. The operation Phantom Fury was a success with insurgent Forces being wiped out or fleeing after the operation was over. Fallujah has always been the strong hold for the Baath party which was one of saddam Hussains political parties with all the power and support for his regime. Taking the city was a major operation in operation Iraqi Freedom over all.

Those automatic 40mm Grenade Launchers sure appear to be devastating. Boy are they loud when they fire. When I first fired the M 203 40mm grenade launcher slung under my M 16A2 rifle, Firing a standard High Explosive 40mm Grenade I was very surprised at the extremely light recoil as well as as its lack of loud report. Looking at the muzzle size I expected it to knock the heck out of me when I fired it and deafen me with a huge explosive bang. Neither happened though, at least with the HE Grenade, when I eventually fired the anti-personnel round, I think that's what it was called but it's been long ago and I'm having trouble remembering, basically a HUGE 40 mm Shotgun Shell filled with a bunch of Double Ought (00) sized Ball Bearings. That was super loud and I had a bruise on my shoulder for a week, needless to say I never wanted to fire one again, lol...
But these HE Grenades from the Automatic Launcher sound far louder.
Does anyone know if they are just regular 40mm HE Grenades or if they're special for the launchers specifically, maybe have much more powder to give them a greater range perhaps? If anyone knows I would appreciate It if they would help me with this. Thank you.
Idk,but the report would seem.louder on here do to the position of the camera when they were launched. It's always louder forward and left to right than it is behind the muzzle.
