  • Did you know that throat cancer is about as common as melanoma or thyroid cancer? Did you know that about 70-80% of these are related to Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)? And did you know that the HPV vaccine is nearly 100% effective in preventing these cancers? The famous actor, Michael Douglas, was diagnosed with this disease, but many still may not know a lot about it. I sit down with Dr. Ben Judson of Yale to discuss vaccines, prevention, biology, and treatment of these cancers! And, the conversation continues on our radio show/podcast, Yale Cancer Answers... see link below.

As a current Head and Neck Cancer patient stil searching for the Point of Origin Cancer, I found this highly enlightening and plan to share it with my friends and family memebers. I am so glad that I did not listen to the misinformation about the vaccine and have already vaccinated one of my two daughters and will be getting the other vaccinated very soon. Thank you for sharing all of this very pertinent information about HPV related cancers.

Why. can't we do an oral, and throat, HPV test, the same way that we can do cervical and anal HPV test?

I have HPV+ squamous cell cancer at 63 years old. Is it possible that I can pass the HPV virus to someone else.

My husband is 77 and was recently diagnosed. His ENT and the medical oncologist both said the virus itself is dead. It’s kinda like chickenpox which hides and then comes out as shingles. This virus seems to behave in a similar manner. Both doctors indicate it’s been hiding for more than 50 years and now reveals itself as cancer. Hope this helps
