As someone who has had a gastric bypass and has lost over 100 pounds and is maintaining the weight loss, I have to disagree. It's definitely not for everyone. Each circumstance is different and everyone has to decide with their care providers what's right for them, but to make a blanket statement to the effect of don't do it you'll regret it, is problematic at best. And, technically a gastric bypass can be reversed. Nothing is removed, just rearranged. A gastric sleeve, on the other hand, actually removes a portion of the stomach. That one is irreversible. Gastric bypass was one of the best decisions I've ever made. My diabetes and blood pressure was out of control. I had a host of other health issues all due to my weight and I tried EVERYTHING. The gastric bypass was the last resort, but it was the best thing for me. I'm now off of insulin and about half of the medications I was taking. My blood pressure is now normal and I'm being reevaluated for my sleep apnea, because I don't think it's an issue anymore. I'm coming up on 4 years post op on my gastric bypass. Statistically if a person is going to gain back the weight it usually happens within the first 2 years after. It could still happen, but it's not very likely at this point. I have a much better relationship with food now. For the right person this surgery can be literally a life saver. I wish there was a cure-all for everyone, but sadly there isn't.
I am so glad he did NOT get surgery. Keep in mind it’s a part of the billions of dollars a year industry. It may work for some but I have known many that it did not work for.
Eat more small meals! It’s difficult but sneak it at work if you have to. Eat about 6 to 8 small amounts a day. You won’t feel hungry and you won’t go into starvation mode which will save a big meal as fat that won’t burn off. The small meals will help your stomach shrink naturally over time. I’ve lost over 100 pounds and kept it off with this. Small amounts example 1 hard boiled egg and a piece of sprouted toast, two hours later handful of almonds and 1/4 cup blueberries two hours later half a sandwich and low cal drink, two hours later the other half sandwich…next …salad and low cal/ low sugar yogurt
On a carnivore diet he could still eat as much as he wanted but still lose weight. The problem is he's in no stable position in life to ideally take on that level of discipline and commitment. I really hope he doesn't get hurt from his weight, he seems like a truly good person
J. Peterson is straight carnivore (actually beef only = lion diet). And he's on the road a lot. The longer you abstain from carbs the less you miss them. That's why it's easier to stick to strict abstinence of carbs rather than have a little or indulge in occasional cheat days. That only reignites your food addictions. If you stick to the strict carnivore, or maybe keto with a few low carb vegs and nuts, then your appetite adjusts and it get's easier. Don't "go on a diet", make permanent changes you can stick to.
There is no clinical evidence that the carnivore diet provides any health benefits. Dietitians dismiss the carnivore diet as an extreme fad diet, which has attracted criticism from dietitians and physicians as being potentially dangerous to health. It also raises levels of LDL cholesterol, which increases the risk of Cardiovascular disease. A carnivore diet high in red meat increases the risks of Colon cancer and gout.

I am 76 years old and have been overweight for a while. 2 years ago I weighed 280 pounds and just like smoking years ago it came to the same two questions I had to ask myself: quit smoking and maybe live a normal healthy life or continue smoking and die in a year or so. I quit smoking. Fast forward 40 years and I'm faced with the same dilemma; stop gaining weight and maybe live a normal life and maybe get to that 100 years old or continue eating like I was and die in a few years. I quite eating so much and did some exercises. I now weigh 220 pounds and am still losing weight. I now belong to a gym and working on my muscle strength. As you add muscle it is denser so it weighs more than fat does so the weight doesn't mean as much. It's a hard thing for me to do because I love food and I live in Thailand. Food is everywhere you look here. I just have to force myself not to eat until I am actually hungry.
Gabriel, aka “Fluffy” I hit 40 and it was the changing point for Mr. I wasn’t able to breath with COPD and I wanted to be active with my teens. I started by just doing isometric exercises at home. The , I found a walking buddy, we did 5.2km in 50 min every morning before our kids woke up. It set us up for amazing days! Then I added diet with weight watchers and increasing water. Finally I joined a gym. T hired a trainer and got into the best shape of my life. Gabriel, you CAN DO THIS, I believe in you and if there is a way to work out together, I would 100% take part! You are a special human being and you deserve all the best things that life has to offer you!! Blessings to you! Reach out, I will be there… don’t give up you are a treasure bthat the world deserves to enjoy my dear😊
I'm 69 with a back that won't let me walk. Back when I could walk I walked a mile every day and ate 2 grilled chicken soft tacos every single day with a waffle for breakfast . I lost 35 lbs in no time.
I just learned about that type of surgery for weight-loss... The scary thing is.... Your stomach can stretch back if you don't stick to life with it. So always respect yourself. Just eat the best natural foods and if you have burgers n such.... Balance it out the next day with salads or what have yous.... You want to take weight loss slowly... Too fast can be bad... I know fluffy sir is people doing better now and this is old. Just thought I'd share.
Those doctors don't know shit, youve been a huge part of my life and I'm so glad you can keep going and live with your amazing family and keep spreading happiness, Youre doing amazing. we love you fluffy!
Bro I know why you live the way you do but please take it from someone who works in Healthcare, that your health is the most important thing you have. Death is not necessarily the worst that can happen, complications are generally the worst things that can happen, i.e. cardiovascular disease, DM 1, heart failure, heart attack, stroke, etc. All these things feed off each other and cause these problems simultaneously. These things severely reduce quality of life and are all preventable things. Ive seen so many patients struggle to manage one or more of these things. I've worked with so many stroke patients too and it's really not something anyone ever wants to live with. It can and does happen so often. You've lost some weight, keep it up, it's not easy but you're a good dude and your health is worth more than anything
SEMIGLUTIDE, then gastric bypass, it will get you started! The doctors do not want to prescribe it because of the supply chain issues. You can demand it, as long as your heart, pancreas, and liver are OK.
Fluffy needs to be on Ozembic. I dropped 40 lbs. because it cut my appetite to nothing. I'm diabetic type 2, I imagine Fluffy has blood sugar problems or at least complications of obesity. Ozembic has me dropping weight big time and it was an adjunct to my diabetes regimen. Now everybody needs to know about it and it is a miracle for weight loss. Straight up folks for real. I ain't no commercial for it, it has me dropping weight like daily.
Ozempic causes nausea and vomiting. It's an injection. It's a lifetime drug. A lot of the weight loss is muscle, not fat. And there is ZERO long-term data. No, Gabriel needs to do low-carb and especially fasting. It's free, no side effects, and there are thousands of years of evidence that it's not harmful.

I just have to force myself not to eat until I am actually hungry.
stick with it brother... and good for you that you quit smoking !
What tears me up the dollar store
He should meet dr. Nowzardan😅
Hang out with the Rock for those last six week s a year. He will get you on track.

Friends don't let friends get gastric surgery
Gastric bypass can be bypassed by something called discipline. Only side effect? Being a better human.
If only a Bill burr fatty roast joke popped up directly right after this
Thank God he found DDPY
He needs to sell those VW buses and use the money to get better
When I was in beauty school. There was some women that had that surgery done and they had all kinds of problems afterwards.!
I'm 69 with a back that won't let me walk. Back when I could walk I walked a mile every day and ate 2 grilled chicken soft tacos every single day with a waffle for breakfast . I lost 35 lbs in no time.
Been there 13 years ago - dropped it and it has not come back - you need to rewire your brain
Nice
My mama got this surgery, she cried bc she could eat as much👀
I just learned about that type of surgery for weight-loss...
This hit too close for me
Carnivore. Go carnivore.
Just be a responsible eater! Gosh

Don't mutilate your gut. My hard headed husband's lost over 120 in 3 years n has a bit to go. Weight watchers. Tons of free fruits n veggies he's pushing 70 n still works full time
Maybe a taco truck
