  • Crossing Grand Couloir, Mont Blanc, one of the scariest part of hiking Western Europe's highest summit. By statistics alone, it looks like Grand Couloir du Goûter is the place in the Alps with the highest number of accidents! The main danger is the falling rocks and over the years there have been more than a few accidents there. Have two spotters looking up from both sides of Goûter Couloir, while the others can cross fast when it looks clear. We wear the #helmets at all time and be super-careful watching for rocks. It takes about 50″ to cross the corridor, but rocks can be falling at any moment, even early in the morning.
    00:00 - Adrian crossing second
    00:24 - Bogdan crossing nicely
    01:04 - Adrian crossing in 50″
02:40 - Almost hit by BIG ROCK! We are not fully protected from the falling rocks, even in the area close to the wall, where we wait.
03:40 - Roxana crossing fast, in just over 30″, after waiting for rocks to stop
04:40 - Cornelia - double checking and crossing
    05:40 - Oana traversing nicely
    07:40 - Mihai
09:05 - Razvan has to speed up towards the end
On the other side they are more protected it looks safer

Maybe less. But it is indeed steep and many falling rocks. So you'd need two spotters looking up and cross fast, only when it looks clear
