  • HOW TO MOISTURIZE DRY LOW POROSITY HAIR & RETAIN MOISTURE ALL WEEK!!! 4A 4B 4C NATURAL HAIR... Hey! Today I will be showing you how I moisturize my extremely dry, low porosity, multi-textured, type 4 natural hair. As a low porosity natural, my hair tends to repel moisture which makes it very hard for products to fully absorb into my hair shaft. I have had plenty many instances where my hair was extremely dry within a day or two of me moisturizing. Luckily, I have found a dry to moisturizing natural haircare routine that works for me and doesn't require daily moisturizing. Now after moisturizing, my hair retains moisture for at least a week if not more in between my wash days depending on the style. I hope this video on how I moisturize my low porosity natural hair is helpful. Thanks for watching! Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE, LIKE, COMMENT, AND SHARE!!!
    Enjoy your blessings!!!

Tips to moisturize low porosity hair.
    --------------------
    1. Spray with water but don’t make it too wet, make it a bit wet.
    2. Put a good leave in conditioner (Shea moisture leave in, Aunt Jackie leave in or Cantu leave in)
    3. Put your hair butter to seal and a extra layer of moisture (Tgin daily moisture butter,Aunt Jackie Butter seal)
    4. lastly Have a last layer of oil to seal it even better and keep it more moist (Aunt Jackie natural growth oil, Jamaican black castor oil, Wild growth oil, tea tree oil, extra virgin olive oil-{I recommend that}.
Then Put a nice protective style on, Throw on a wig and do this once a week for 4-5 weeks then wash your hair and start again.❤️
Edit: Also massage your hair with hair growth oils every night (That’s VERY VERY VERYYYY IMPORTANT)

That means you have high porosity 💟. Low porosity means that the hair very slowly absorbs there hair and only takes what it needs which leads to product buildup. Whereas high porosity quickly absorbs everything it can get.

After watching 10 other low porosity naturals, I finally found someone whose hair is exactly like mine. Thank you for this simple routine. I didn't focus on smoothing the product in my hair after applying the warm water, I would just smooth it out like 10 sec and then apply leave in and butter but realized my hair needs more help to absorb the product. Keep up the great work!

Tee tree and Peppermint should be used occasionally not really for a moisturizer. They mainly serve the purpose for scalp treatment eg dandruff, and once the hair problems are resolved, it should be used even less possible once a month or every other month.

Adding vegetable glycerine to the water spray also helps to keep the hair moisturize longer following your other steps. My hair now stsys moisturize for about 2 weeks now. Also, instead of you using the comb, use your fingers to detangle like a comb. Its a game changer.

I’ve been blindly following other CZcamsrs/ hair gurus who claim to be “low porosity” and their methods have been all wrong! My hair hasn’t been able to retain moisture by following their advice and I couldn’t figure out why.
I randomly tried the damp warm water, leave in, moisturizer, grease routine before watching your video but searched for low porosity hair videos to confirm my hair’s porosity and to my surprise, everything you suggested made such a significant difference in my hair care routine. I also bought some chebe powder last month to add to my regimen. This is THE BEST low porosity video I’ve seen!! I know my hair is low porosity but the way it feels after I moisturize my hair is as if I didn’t put anything in it at all. I am confused, it’s so frustrating almost have me shaving my hair off .
Water beads up on my strands, take a bit to be wet, take forever to dry when I moisture and twist, I use a steaming cap to incorporate heat but it still behaves the same way .

Hello Moyo 👋🏾 I appreciate the sweet compliment. It definitely sounds like you may have low porosity hair but I am far from a natural hair expert. I would recommend scheduling a hair consultation with a natural hair stylist in your area for professional advice. They will be able to better identify what your hair lacks and it may be as simple as a change in the products you’re using. I’m sorry I couldn’t be of more help. I’m out here learning as I go as well. Don’t give up on your journey. You’ve got this...a little trial and error is apart of the process. 💕

Do you clarify your hair because low porosity needs to be clarified as soon as you notice build up.
Your products from shampoo to leave in may contain protein or you may be using some strengthening ayurvedic herbs or products too.
Low porosity can be protein sensitive. Proteins and strengthening products should be used with caution.

Hey Darius 👋🏾 I moisturize every 2-3 days when my afro is out but it really depends on how your hair looks and feels. Since the weather is getting cooler, I have to moisturize more frequently because my hair tends to dry out faster.

I personally moisturize 2 to 3 times in between wash days. It really depends on how my hair is looking and feeling. I also have a midweek moisturizing routine uploaded on my change if you need it. And yes you can go into styling right after moisturizing if you choose to. ❤️

I actually don’t know of any grease that contains protein so I’m sure there are a lot to choose from. All I can speak for is Blue Magic and Virgin Hair Fertilizer because they’re the only ones I’ve used. Neither have protein but they do have petrolatum and mineral oil.

    • @Quijuandas
      @Quijuandas  Před 2 lety +2

Yes it stays moisturized all week. Lately, I’ve been going straight in with my leave in since water is the first ingredient instead of dampening my hair with water first. I’ve also started incorporating the green house effect method for 15 minutes after applying my leave in to trap in the moisture even more. Doing so has produced even better results for me.
