- I played Security Breach on Nintendo Switch, is it as broken as the PC version or has it been patched? The answer to both is 'yes'.

To be fair, I believed that trying to run this game on a switch would cause it to actually explode, so this is technically an improvement.
The nintendo switch exploding after freddys hat takes .5 seconds longer to load than usual
What is up with people still thinking the switch weak though. BOTW, Monster Hinter, The witcher 3, Skyrim...
@@BlackCroft666 Depends heavily on optimization,There are many ports of demanding games that deserves recognition But Unfortunately It's mostly panickbottom ports and Witcher 3 port which are taken as "Miraculous ports"... Honestly,*In reality Neither panickbottom ports nor Witcher 3 port are really nowwhere as good as people make them out to be..
@@sayakashrestha123 With how well Security Breach was made it doesn't really give good hope for it to run smoothly on the Switch. So honestly more surprised they semi patched it for the release.
Saying it will explode the Switch does give impression people don't think larger games will work on the Switch. Easy to forget the Switch has really pretty games with large world to explore. Also doubt Nintendo would allow a game that explodes consoles to release.
@@BlackCroft666 this all comes down to optimization, something, which we know steelwool cant do

@@Vanished584doom and doom eternal, the witcher 3, dying light was a pretty recent one
Considering the switch can run Xenoblade 3 (which is pretty close to an open world game) at a steady fps and the same company behind 3 made Xenoblade X which had some sort of wizardry programmed into it to run on the Wii U, it’s pretty clear that this time around it’s not all the hardware’s fault. Proper code optimization and compression would probably really help SB run better.
@@NotLizardMan3747it's steel wool's fault for not making a functional game in the first place
The games optimization is awful but the switch is undeniably grossly underpowered
This game being on Switch is the perfect example of the old saying: "you were so fast to answer if you could, you never stopped to wonder if you should"
If you want another perfect example of that old saying look up the game Dauntless.
Its a fantastic example of developers having no plan and no skills to handle developing a game. At almost every possible crossroad the devs make the worst possible decisions.

For those curious, my honest review of the Switch version is that it's a small miracle they got it to work at all. I think if you've never played SB before and don't mind it being really quite low res and prone to needing to load, it's a very playable version of Security Breach.... which is more than I think most of us expected!
Also, I am very glad it's still possible to break it. When half the fun is playing around in the glitch-sandbox removing that would have been basically removing features. So it's a thumbs up from my first 3 hours with it, deff a compromised version but not compromised in any way that matters to me.
Good to know backseat
Ok thanks
@Justin I do have the OLED. So if that's true, then my opinion is a little swayed in that direction. So take that into account everyone!
I am planning to buy a switch but although i want to, I'm still not 100% sure if i want to get it on the switch
As someone who played the PS3 version of Inquisition for over a thousand hours, low-res and achingly long load screens are old friends of mine!
I laughed so hard when I got the notification for Security Breach on Nintendo Switch, a genuine audible "Oh GOD."

Not sure if it's mentioned here but I want to reiterate that it seems like this is both a newer patch but also somehow an older patch of the game. I noticed when going through the beginning of the game that the mop robots had their voice lines restored for example.
Probably one team did patches and the other started work on the switch version at some time before the last patches
@@camdengrady6433 Usually when developing games with updates. They develop multiple versions but adding stuff in them.
For example the release version is version A
Version B and Version C were developed while Version A was the live version.
Version B and C adds features but to make sure content isn't missing, they add Version A into both versions.
Perhaps Switch was developed around the time the game got patched, let's say Version C, the latest version was live while Switch version was being developed with Version B as a template.
When putting finishing touches they added the content from the later patches but left certain bugs that were already patched before, essentially they forgot to bring over certain bugs fixes that were already in the latest patch.
This can happen in game development, For example, Clash Royale one time released a rework for a card named Executioner, the next update, a different stronger version of the executioner was in, then the next update came and the Executioner was reverted to what it was before the 2nd update where it was different.
Essentially Version A had the executioner rework, Version B was sort of an earlier version that they forgot to remove
And Version C is normal

I like how jank the LOD models are. They weren't checked at all for weird geometry, just look at the vent at 8:07. The low poly version has geometry that doesn't match the high quality version.
They must be autogenerating them. Probably some of them are in the PC version too, but they're swapped out way before you get close to them so you won't notice the jank. But on the switch they have to leave them in until you get way close.
I think it's because of InstaLOD, I don't know anything about it, but I think that's the reason why.
@@bonniethehedgefox9139 It's a mesh optimizer with that capability. So I suppose it's responsible for the janky LOD models. But I wonder if the software is to blame, or they set it up wrong and they never checked its output.
