    What is absent from media coverage here in India is the seriousness of outbreak of COVID-19. This is turning out to be a tragic black swan event. The impact of this outbreak is going to be huge as in a globalised world dependent on global value chain (GVC), China which is a big part of this GVC is literally shutdown with productivity nearing nothing. In this scenario, America and other countries including India are going to suffer quiet badly with Indian economy already in doldrums. That being said, what should be a concern is the spread of this virus in India. At the moment it seems that India has contained the virus but with outbreaks in other parts of world, if an outbreak occurs in India, it is going to be a nightmare for health services. Keeping fingers crossed and hoping that virus die down with increase in temperature (currently no evidence exist that back this theory).

      daksh singh Cold and flu can be fatal for people who are immunocompromised as well. I would like for the media to start interviewing people who have had it. They try to scare us into getting flu shots every year with statistics about how many people have died from the flu, but I have never known anyone who has known someone who has died from the flu.

    • @rohanmehta1339
      @rohanmehta1339 Před 4 lety +1

      @@really5580 I urge you to reconsider your analysis. Common Cold and Flu are less lethal than this COVID-19. Why? Because common cold and flu does not give around 20% of the infected patients pneumonia and serious respiratory disease . Also, governments around the world do not impose strict quarantine measures to slow down spread of common cold. It is true (from current empirical evidence) that patients with age above 70, having co-morbidities like cancer, uncontrolled diabetes and hypertension (high blood pressure) are at a more serious risk but we have to remember that we are in early stages of the outbreak. No cure or vaccine will be available for next 16 to 18 months. The Case Fatality Rate (CFR) is, with current studies, around 2.5% little more or less. Even at this rate if number of infected grew to millions the number of deaths will be astronomical. I agree that there are fear-mongers who try to paint a picture of doom for society but one cannot afford to overlook credible scientific data. Prestigious medical journals around the world are indicating towards the possibility of this being a pandemic.

Never ever even mention of that whole episode. That's when Indira made the deal with USSR in return for Lal Bahadur Shastri's murder. They just don't even mention why US and whole of west ignored India through the 70's & 80's. When KGB was running India and every one in Delhi was on KGB's payroll. Gupta is one of the classical hypocrite who doesn't want to bring up this topic in order to not expose him self. But truth will come out one day. May after Putin the ex KGB demit office.

    Indians and Americans are guided by essentially the same fundamental values - be productive, be good, enjoy life. India was born into the Cold War hence it was understandable that America's position on India, and vice versa, was relative. Now that the Cold War is over for 30 years, time for natural partners to work together. Remember that what is powering Indo-US relations is the burgeoning people to people links, with the governments piggybacking on that. And with little to no government support from either the US or India, Indian Americans are the most successful ethnic group in the most successful economy in the world. Indians in India have barely started on their path to middle-income, so this is the most promising relationship on earth at this point.
    Thank you Mr. SG for sometimes close to outbursts! Bit sad that oil supplies did not figure much in the discussion. That is the real, slow game changer.

    “we have to recover all of the occupied Kashmir” then he corrects that to “Pakistan occupied Kashmir.” 🤔

    Shekhar, not impressed with wrong quoting of the sher - 'Khud hi kar buland itna...'. It's not 'taqdeer' but 'tadbeer' (throw of dice).

    India spends Rs 300 crores (about $ 50 million ) for this reception of Trump who got a defense contract of $3 billion but Pakistan gained without doing anything. Americans are now giving away Afghanistan to Pakistan as it was before 2001 from 1992. The USA gave permission to Turkey, the friend of Pakistan, to invade Syria. It is a net loss for India.

    Shekhar Sir, Im a big fan of yours and I never miss any of your videos. They are really interesting but today I had to rewind the video several times to watch it properly because I was continously getting distracted by the girl in jeans walking in the background. I know that it is your office and people are busy but it is very disturbing while watching the show. You can check yourself if you feel that I am wrong.
    Thank you. Padmaja

    Is it not lack of regard or lack of courtesey to a very important dignitary ?
