- Star Trek: Deep Space Nine alumni Nana Visitor and Rene Auberjonois travel all the way to a small Canadian town for an annual Star Trek convention: Spock Days in Vulcan, Alberta, Canada. In this performance (June 14, 2014), they recreate an excerpt of the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Necessary Evil", S2 Ep8. This scene is during the Cardassian occupation of the planet Bajor, where Kira Nerys is one of the enslaved Bajorans and the changeling Odo is working for the Cardassians.

Vulcan has a population of just over 1800 but the tiny community has been recognized by CBS Studios as the official Star Trek capital of Canada. Also joining Nana and Rene were DS9's Chase Masterson and Calgary artist Cameron Farn. Previous event attendees have included (but were not limited to): Leonard Nimoy, Walter Koenig, Marina Sirtis, Connor Trineer, Garrett Wang, Robert Picardo and Ethan Phillips. This is the community's 22nd event.

Rest in Peace Mr Rene Auberjonois.
They are amazing together....Exactly like the episode
Great character acting... They still can do this role... I think they should do another series
uh. That was amazing. I saw it in my head the hair and make-up. Rest in peace, Rene.
Love them both as individuals and wonderful actors and friends who are good acquaintances friends and love their characters,
rewatching 2023- miss Rene and Nana still beautiful wonderful- LOL IKNOW that scene SO well I can see Nana's new takes inflections as if she's memorised it and Rene is a bit flatter having to read remember what who Odo was.
0:18 When Nana says "soup kitchen" I half-expected Rene at some point to get into character as Chef Louis from The Little Mermaid.
OMG, that would have been awesome! XD
Oh, so *that's* the face he was doing under the latex all those years.... :-j
*Hrrrumph!*
I totally read your comment in Odo's voice XD
I absolutely love this!!! God bless both Nana Visitor and Rene A!!
i justn watched that episode they did it exactly like it was wow they are good
Amazing...
Nana Visitor still very much fit
Rene Auberjonois is a great actor, so I'm surprised that Nana Visitor pinched the scene. She really is fantasic, in many ways underrated on DS9 I think. I think she grew into the role, but I can't remember a bad turn by Nana as Kira. She always seemed to really throw herself into the role.
She didn't act bad, but her hair was bad in the early seasons. Once she cut it short...perfect.
@@CRFlixs She rocked that short hair cut! And she is still gorgeous even decades later!
Kira Nerys was one of the most impactful characters in all of Star Trek, and she was played flawlessly by Nana Visitor. She made you feel all of Kira's angst.
I always wondered if in order to portray Odo he had to rely on the makeup and prosthetics to help him. So damn impressed he never would have had to.
Major Kira is so pretty in her human form hehe :)
very impressive. i hope there can be some kind of followup to DS9 set in real-time of years after DS9 ended which is about 15 years now. maybe have Odo return from the link or something.
In the Canon DS9 books post story Odo does return to Kira, station manager captain and now Bajoran member of the Federation.
Maybe something is possible in Picard, but Odo won't be there. RIP Rene
Sad
Do they get paid to do this?
