Today's Season 13 tale in Apex Legends is a comparison between Quickplay and Ranked modes, and I'm not sure if everyone will agree on which is better. Turns out that the quality of a game is decided on a lot more than just the mode you play, and as I played through Olympus and World's Edge, the differences were clear, but my teammates had a big part to play in my overall experience. We picked up Fuse, Lifeline and Wraith in today's tales and showcase how not to play these Legends.

If I’m being completely honest I preferred ranked because having br teammates THERES always something bad that could happen, also thanks for somehow not leaving apex through these hard times I appreciate your consistency
good thing about ranked is that players are punished for leaving. Pubs are full of people doing battle pass missions. Jump - disconnect, change legend and repeat.

Thanks for sharing your hardship with me, Brandon. I can relate to the depression, and there is light at the end of the tunnel. The secret for me was to become curious about how depression worked; spent time reading about it and learning about the tricks our brain plays on us. Not an easy road even once you have all the tools, but if I can do it, I know you can too. Couple the research with mindfulness and anything to do with the present moment. Eckhart Tolle has some excellent books on the topic and there are CZcams videos of a very nice chap called Mooji who really helps with life perspective. Stay curious about the brain and how to stop the continuous internal chatter, and freedom will be yours. Join our discord for a nice community to surround yourself with too. Peace

Guys, I'm getting tired of seeing the "Did you know that Loba's ult breaks when she steals..." Yes, I know. Everyone who has played Loba will know this by now, surely. The point is that if you take what you want (ammo etc) then steal an item from the vault, it's considered to be deliberately breaking the black market. I have no idea why so many people have come to the conclusion that it is an accident. It's only an accident if they didn't know what it does. Otherwise, it ain't great behavior.
Ragg I’m with you that Loba was 🗑.On top of that she cost you all the match by not participating in a winnable fight til too late.It’s kinda infuriating just to watch honestly.
If loba wants something from the vault, she should still wait until her teammates get 2 non vault items
26:24 Storm is mistaken. Landslide is actually one of my preferred drop locations this split precisely because it actually does have decent loot like you found (and usually enough for a full squad), then pushing to Countdown to third party gets that early game KP. Good video again, Rag!
Also have to agree. Dropping too hot means dying. Dropping too far off means no loot and no fights.
But right inbetween is where it's at. Enough loot to start with some decent gear without having to fistfight with 3 other squads, while at the same time close enough to those squads that you can loot and walk over just when they're done, ready do pick off the survivors.

Yeah, I've literally had a Loba in 2 ranked matches this week that only looted...never shot their guns. Is there a new challenge I didn't hear about.😁
I see that shit all the time. Then you've got me where it's like "If I didn't contirbute i'm putting my traps up and hiding in a corner until it's my turn"
Just yesterday had a match where the game crashed on me for switching a p2020 to a bocek, panic loaded in to see my team had earned me 6 very unwarranted KP. So yeah, just trap up the building and when they start to move grab the ammo/cells and whatnot that are leftover. I tend to play very supportive as a Caustic who prefers a Wingman+Charge/Peacekeeper so, only like 3/4 of my slots are used for ammo and I really only like to carry around 1 arc (2 ulti accels though) which is only to break a door for my ult.

Yeah, I’m rather enjoying this split too. Yes it’s challenging, but incredibly rewarding. I am pretty sick of those randoms who like to hot drop in ranked. Quiet dropping really helps you get through to higher rounds most of the time, especially in the current ranked format. Yes, early kills are nice, but a quick trip back to the lobby with a minus score isn’t at all.
I think it's just people still adjusting, Season 12 ranked quality was terrible and encouraged this behavior. I feel like by the time this split started people have started to realize that behavior was bad.
@@PkmnLovar No they dont realize, the same people doing it have always and always will do it. They have far too high of an ego to realize that landing with 4 other squads is a bad idea, and it's on you for not being good.
I play 1hr or 2 a day sometimes I don't even play.. I ain't trying to just loot all game either cause it's boring af, if teammates could carry the weight wouldn't be no problem landing hot drop.. I be at 4-6kills then my teammates cant 1v1 so many times I'm at that many kills last dude drops me & I leave him low health & my teammates somehow manage to lose a 2v1 so if you think bout it goes both ways because after hot drop if you want to camp like if you landed far away you can & w good loot.. I always give jump master thoe for same reason I don't want people complaining where we landed so you choose.
@@BartBasquiato The simplest solution to this is land with 1-2 other squads instead of landing hot and then rotate to the hot areas. If you pay attention to the dropship path and especially if you have general map knowledge, you should be able to reliably find fights, especially if you're capable of hearing audio.
Or, drop adjacent to a hot zone, grab some loot and get some action while you're cleaning up the people who did drop hot.
@@PkmnLovar or like I said handle your 1v1s then we can kill off people trying to rotate to hot drop.. also that's why I said I give jumpmaster if they want to go hot drop I got no problem I just got a problem when they cant handle their fights.. trust me I know how to play the game but also I'm a team player in rank some people want to land far & we see no action all game that's what I meant.. I'm not saying I land somewhere & I don't find anybody my teammates just decide to land in the middle of nowhere w like 3 houses just by that it tells me they ain't willing to fight so I go at their pace then we die to the best team in the lobby w red evo while we gray or blue.. that's why I said goes both ways, yea I got RP but did I have fun? No

The teammates in Belgium servers in ranked (atleast for me) most of the time almost make me quit the game and almost everyday i quit for the rest of the day

Yup. a good drop should be one that is closeby, but avoids the initial brawl. You can always rotate over after the loot is picked. By that time there should be maybe 1-2 squads left that are low on ammo and healing, so easier to pick off.

It's hitscan, just stay on the target. But then, basically everything else has bullet drop, so going back and forth without adjusting can be pain

I've found that:
In pubs, either one teammate disconnects, or they solo drop and die immediately half the map away. Plus rage quitting is a an all time high.
Ranked however is either a full squad of sensible people who avoid hot drops leading to a good high RP match, or streamer building in fragment, which, 90% of the time ends into - 30 RP
Overall, Ranked is more enjoyable (most of the time) but we need some LTMs because in my opinion battle royale is stating to feel a little stale.

from what ive learned in the apex BR world, i have a new tastes in ranked play. in casual, anything can go wrong, plus a majority of the time, your teammates Arnt as focused on the game as you are, leading them to quicky die early in the game, when we clearly have god spot, but in ranked, there's a focus on aiming for a goal, stakes are higher, both you and your teammates are really in it to win it. it changes gameplay in a definitive level Wich makes looting different, rotation different, and make the fights so much more exhilarating. sure there will be that one sweaty wraith coming to ruin your day but there only a percentage to what ranked is truly all about.
Personally I Live for the FIGHT, every encounter can lead to anything, i live the moment
when it comes down to your skill, wits and your teammates by you side, its one hell of an experience
That is pretty much how i feel it's supposed to be. In ranked you want to win (or at least make it through the majority of the game with good RP) but in pubs anything goes. Try out new stuff, use different guns, play a legend for the first time, practice movement, learn maps. There is nothing lost, so people will do anything.

Love the video. But I’ve been hating how this seasons split ranked and map rotation in ranked. My jumpmasters always jump fragment like we’re playing pubs.

Like falling off the map in Olympus, there's absolutely no shame in being crushed to death (especially in Grow Towers).
Well, maybe a little shame, but it's kinda hard to predict those sorts of deaths ahead of time.

I have yet to play a match in ranked that wasn't either a) a hot drop right into Fragment or b) a good drop followed by a mad sprint into Fragment and six teams with secure positioning.
The lower RP cost is great, except now people aren't afraid to hot drop and it's incredibly frustrating.
Yup, offensive always means you're on the move, defense means you have your spot secured. Running in blind is just stupid. Better be careful.

Last split I got to bronze 2 after 2 weeks and gave up cause solo que and this split Iam in silver 4 granted it’s only been a few weeks since the change but I do think this system update has been a lot more effective
Yeah and it feels more rewarding to hit that rank. Like I managed to slip into d4/3 last season and thought it was LARGELY a result of the ranked system as i had always been plat, ending gold 1 season. Hitting diamond again was really reasurring and made me realize i'd actually improved. A LOT compared to the 0 fps experience me that started apex.
Insane end-game
I've rarely had problems with hot drops in ranked.
Probably because I main Rhapsody and save room on shield charge with her tactical and shamelessly grenade spam early game.
BEST EDITING - when your 6pt charge rifle hit became 6000000 LOL

Easier lobbied in pubs for sure unless you're still in silver, in which case it's pretty much the same, bronze is sometimes half bot lobbies and sometimes three stack pred squads dropping 20 bombs
