Sam Matterface's commentary was nothing short of exceptional. The passion and excitement was a joy to see. He's not a West Ham fan but he was as desperate for West Ham to win the Cup as any West Ham fan was on the night.
It was a night no West Ham fan will ever forget, to hear Sam's incredible commentary, to see the passion on his face and jumping off his seat is wonderful to watch.
"96 minutes,47 minutes played" brilliant job. He was so into it.
Exceptional commentary of a tension soaked match. Suspense, drama, violence, and emotions are all in this match. Congrats once again to WestHam players and fans, especially the seniors who are still alive to witness this glorious moment. I wish they win the Europa next season, too, but Liverpool is playing there, and it's a must win tournament for my team. 😅
100% Both teams wanted to win badly, Super competitive game, It boiled over at times, Great European final, Well done West Ham.
Much appreciated, that may well be a bridge too far for us next season, but I would gladly take a good domestic season without trophies if it meant a 4th consecutive year in Europe

I was there, it has to be one of the greatest days of my life and West Ham’s. I can’t describe it, it’s beyond words. It was total theatre and drama. COYI.
You could see the bitersweet feeling in Ashton's eyes. Proud of the club he played for, but thoughts of what might have been in the FA Cup Final, and what he may have gone on to achieve. Still gutted for him. One of the finest English Strikers ever produced.

He is excellent. Faculties in check and fluid in his thoughts and delivery. Top top can’t believe he works with talk sport though. The show that’s supposed to be for the fans but really they’re antagonists. Riling each other and other fan bases up.

@@msimms-ft9yv i rewind the tv and sync with talk. All matches are delayed by up to a minute anyway. Live matches were gone forever one terrestrial tv was switched off. Bt and sky are obsessed with no swearing is the main reason.

He's not though. There's a long list of English commentators of varying qualities and Sam Matterface is somewhere in the mix but nowhere near top of the list. Darren Fletcher who does all the big European games at BT Sport is miles better.
@@FreshAlchemy Fletcher just has a 90 minute conversation with lucy ward, who he sucks up to. Ruins matches. Matterface has upped his game. Who is better.? They're all pretty average, Bill Leslie and Rob Hawthorne are the only other decent ones out there.

Spurs fan, well done to West Ham, never wanted them to win it of course. People might think it's a tiny trophy, but it's better to win something rather than nothing. Arsenal put all their eggs into the league and won nothing.

Something about Dean Ashton doesn’t sit right with me, he once said “we didn’t like Cappello because he tried to make us play like Italians” that’s like Pep coming in wanting to play Tiki Taka or Klopp wanting to play Gengepress and the players saying “no, we want to play good old fashioned route one brexit ball”. The England team was doomed from the start with that attitude

@@adamcraig1468 It's all relative i guess, a supporter of a lower league team would celebrate this way after being promoted. We're just west ham we will never compete for a champions league and neither will plenty of other Prem sides, this competiton gives us all an opportunity to taste the glory that being a football fan is all about and i tell you now, its beautiful!

I don't care that it's 3rd tier European football, it's still massive for us and any team towards the lower end of the Premier league would love this accomplishment.
