I just had to write to say thank you. I was watching this video and found the advice absolutely brilliant. So much so that after I finished watching I got out two of my Greetery stencils that I have had so much frustration with (the tartan builder and the square dance). I tried the hack by cutting my paper to the size of the stencil and using my misti as described in the video. Both tries came out amazing. The square dance background has always looked like I was drunk once it was done. The tartan builder stencils gave me lots of color options now that I know what to do. This turned frustration into pleasure. I have eye issues (double vision even with corrective lens) and lining up stamps and stencils have in the past made this technique less than ideal. Thanks again to you and to Simon Hurley.

Brilliant idea using the Misti to stencil.
A fantastic floral stencil, so many colors would work for the flowers! This is another great use for a MISTI!!! Gotta say, I’m not a free-range stamper except on the rare occasion, but blending brushes are magic. TFSharing this card today, quick, and lovely! And pretty nails, too, CZ. 💌

I love both the stenciled images. Stamping the outline made them look so different and I love both versions.
Such a good idea! Cathy, do you repurpose your used paper towels? I saw a hack where you can turn your paper towels into beautiful paper that can be reused. You save up the towels that have pigment on them, separate the layers, then stick several layers back together using diluted PVA. I try to get complementary colours on one paper towel. Sometimes I do a bit extra stamping to finish them off and I save the thread trimmings from my sewing to put between the layers. The paper is BEAUTIFUL! I've just made a junk journal cover out of some.

I do this on my Tim Holtz stamping tool! I also use it for watercolor. I use a sticky mat for stencils.
Have been doing this since I got my PFT stencils. So easy and eliminates any errors. Glad you are sharing!

That Simon, he's a smart one !!! Your card is GORGEOUS, it was memorizing to watch you build those colors. I not sure I would have even given a second look at a set of stencils that had 6 stencils to overlay (too much margin of error to line up that many, or maybe the thought of 6 is just intimidating) this hack totally makes that doable. I think, I might now need this set of stencils. You Cathy Z are an enabler and I am weak but it's all good. Love your card, love Simon's hack and love the "boops" both the sound effects and the shiny bling that made the card complete.

I love stencilling, but hadn't thought about using my stamping platform before, so thank you for that. Also, using the magnets for stamping inside the card. So simple, and effective. I suppose it's to do with working in a very small space, and putting things out of the way before moving to the next step. I will be using my platform more sensibly now. 😃

I have The Greetery’s pinwheel party set and I have been reluctant to use it because I was worried about the layering . Will use larger card stock, line it up in the misti, and then die cut it to proper size. Thanks so much for sharing and thanks to Simon, too

I actually saw this hack somewhere else and it is truly genious!! I like no brainer hacks like this. I have quite a few layering stamps now expecially from Pink Fresh and there's just not other way to do it in my mind. I've also actually taped my stencil down up top and slip in multiple card bases so I can mass produce each layer!! I love them!!
I’ve never used layered stencils, but this looks like it would make it so much easier. Can’t believe the blue flowers and the orange flowers are the same flowers. They look like equally beautiful but totally different flowers.

Versafine Clare ink is so good for stamping sentiments. It is my favorite to use in all the colors. They always come out so sharpe and crisp.

Hi Cathy! Greetings from London Ontario Canada! I love your videos and have learned so much from you! When watching this one I had a brain wave---you could also use the Scor-pal to position your stencils instead of a Misty. I don't have the Misty but do have both the regular size and the mini size Scor-pal so am going to give it a try! I learned the hack for perfect folding scored cardstock by holding it into the corner to get a perfect fold so why not do the same thing for stencils! Yaaayyy! Thanks Cathy! Take care and stay safe!

I saw Simon's video a little while ago and meant to give the Misti a try and it completely slipped my mind, so thanks for the reminder Cathy. These days I have trouble seeing the markings on the stencils even with my glasses on. Your card looks awesome and I do love that your nails match the colour scheme!

I just got my first stamp and layering stencil set today, it’s a Pink Fresh Studios one too. Funnily, I did the stencilling on top of my MISTI and didn’t think of using the corner to line it up. I’m just going to have to try it out again tomorrow! Thanks Cathy and Simon for the tip 😊😊.

Seems I'm never here at the same time you do your videos live but so glad to find them. Silly me ... I HAD to find these stencils and HAD to order a set. I'm hoping my inks will work. I seem to have a problem with my Stampin Up inks. They don't blend very well, but they are very old so perhaps that's the reason. There's still plenty of ink on the pads, just don't want to play well others!
