  • @amyjones7611
    @amyjones7611 Před 3 lety +1

    I’ve been stamping 30+ yrs & have been doing almost all her hacks for yrs. I use my micro cloth rag on my Misti or my sweatshirt sleeve. I also use the corners of my Misti to make sure I line up the top layer of paper. I also use my paper cutter for this. I like the clothes pin trick, it’s much easier than what I’ve been using for so long. I use an alligator clip that’s attached to a dowel. (Meant to hold a sponge to p/u & get ink/paint into tight corners when sponging.) I put some cosmetic sponge on the clips so I don’t leave marks. Another trick I picked up was to use a clothes pin on your anti static bag. Put both sides together & clip it there. Store it in a small container. This way you don’t get that “sand” on your fingers/work surfaces which drives me nuts~o. I use the sweater roller to get the junk off my dies b/c they’re handy & stickier than low tack. There’s really nothing to rip b/c it’s waste anyways. I also use those to clean up EP/glitter that’s on my work service. I ❤️it that everyone is sharing their tips, makes life lots easier & this old dog can always use better, faster ways of doing things. Thank You!

    My favorite CZ tip is from her video "Five Fabulous Hacks For Card Makers (Helpful Hints and Tricks!)" - placing large or background stamps on the platform of your MISTI or Stamparatus, and adhere your cardstock to the door. Easier to ink, re-ink, or make multiples. Genius!

    Many people use the reverse tweezers, which work well when you have non embossed areas. When I’m doing a full embossed page or piece, I use my pokey tool. With tweezers, there’s always that blank spot where the tweezer part held the project. With the pokey tool, it holds your project in place with missed spots!

      @user-mv9tt4st9k Před 3 lety

      I use blue tape for everything. I take the hairs off of the edges of cut or die cut cardstock; and I use it to keep cardstock in place for stamping. I tear off a couple of inches and tape it across my wrist or hand if I think it might be too sticky right off the roll. 😉

    I love Cathy Zielske: her craft room is in the dining room of what looks like a craftsman home. I relate to that.
    The cloth hack is an interesting one. I have seen Cathy's video, and I started using my microfiber cloth to get even pressure when I stamp. I like the results when I am using my stamp press, larger acrylic blocks or wood stamps. I started using clothes pins to hold card stock when I first started embossing: I found that my card was less apt to turn if I used a clothes pin instead of tweezers. My favorite hack is lining up the card and card base, though I do not have tools to do that, ha ha.

    I think the clothes pin tip was pretty darn clever.

    A coffee filter works well too for stamping.

    Love all the hacks @Cathy Zielske and like Maria said below, lovely that you do things like this and encourage each other and boost each other and not competing with each other. It is lovely to be nice to each other and to other's as I find it makes me feel better if I am nice to other people :-) I have watched Cathy's channel before and have also subscribed and I agree with you Simone, she makes me laugh as well *hehe* Oh, I have osteoarthritis in my hands and so I have been using a cotton tea towel to rub over the top of my closed Tonic Studios Stamping Platform since I got it. It is so much easier than pushing down on it and hoping the whole image gets stamped out. Especially the larger stamps and background stamps! :-)

    Gina K calls the pressure tool a 'Chuckie'. Look it up on her Facebook page! I use the dru eraser like Jennifer McGuire does. Definitely game changer! But your tip from a recent video to press out air bubbles on ckear stamps in the Misti IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST TIP!!!!!
