    Nice video and tutorial. Thank you.
    Microwaving oils, even in "short bursts", produces oxidative degradation as well as reactive free radicals. 10 seconds isn't as bad as 30 seconds, etc, but each time it's done, it produces more. So the quality of those last few sticks aren't the same as the previous. Now that a chemical reaction has changed the chemical composition, even on a minute scale, it's possible a customer will say a current lip butter doesn't "quite" feel the same as the previous stick. Just some FYI for my appreciation of what you do and share.

    How to do basic spf test before spending money on tests is to make 2 batches. One normal one with added spf and put a swab of each right next to each other on lets say the wrist and go out in the sun. If you have a light spot you know you should go foward with professional testing.

  • @ashmodo1097
    @ashmodo1097 Před rokem +19

    I’ve always been taught that oils and butters cannot be hydrating but they are moisturizing. You cannot make a hydrating claim since there is no science to back that up. Water is hydrating. The only way to add water though would be an emulsions and that’s just not gonna work like this. Organic lecithin can provide extra moisture though!

    • @Soul.7

      ‘No science to back it up’? Hmmmm, heard that many times before. If science was a religion .... which it is not....

    Again, I don't understand why there are so many ingredients in a recipe that can be perfect with just one hard fat, one liquid oil, wax, vitamin E, and a flavor. I'm also skeptical about the use of stearic acid, which is unnecessary when you have enough hard fats. My recipe is about 2/3 mango butter and 1/3 high oleic sunflower oil.
    I did not understand either why the use of gloves during the labeling of balms was necessary. To me, that's a waste...
