- Trying the direct flight from Vancouver to Manila once again with PAL. Last time I noticed seat covers were not automatically handed out. You had to ask if you want one. This time, they were already on the seats. Did anything else change?????
Last flown was three years ago with PAL, Business cabin still outdated and uncomfy. Food still looks the same, but filling through out the flight. The FA's seems to be more accommodating, friendlier and not stuck-up from previous years I had flown PAL. The most horrendous about PAL are the terminals when you arrive. The AC not working, pax walk-away smells like mildew and the carpet looks old with stains. For a direct flight to MNL, this was very convenient for me if I have a limited days leave to spare. Otherwise, my preferred airlines are ANA, ASIANA and JAL. Thank you for the update on PAL.
I agree with you. I love Asian Airlines but PAL seems to be falling behind. It’s great for direct flights and for emergency travels. Other than that, we prefer other airlines.
@@cyshyfamily I don't see PAL making any efforts for improvement despite ALL the criticism.
I dont get the 2-3-2 config on a long haul flight. I would rather do a 1-2-1 sure its not as "wide open" but at least i have privacy. This just seems like an elongated economy seating.
That’s exactly what it is. An elongated economy seating, a little wider maybe. I love my privacy and not watching my neighbor sleep. lol. It’s perfect for families with really small kids so they can be watch them. But for grown ups maybe not so much. I like my little cocoon too.
I heard Philippine Airlines is expensive but good choice for families. I flew my mother from Chicago to Manila last week on ANA First Class both ways for about $200 US and points. about a $60,000 value
😂 you know folks can search ANA flights online right? 21k USD on "The Suite" first class
The middle isle are 2 seats… you can easily watch little ones. It’s great for direct flights. Bring tablets and entertainments. The TV doesn’t work well.

When they first started the Toronto-Manila flight, the business class fare matched with their seat configuration, food quality.....A few months later the fare goes up and is in the same level
as EVA Air, Korean Air, ANA etc. There is no reason to fly PR particularly when the final destination is not Manila or any city in the Philippines. Absolutely not competitive
I agree. If time isn’t an issue, right now we will be taking another airline. EVA for sure is one of our favourites.

Sorry to hear you had a poor experience, I heard that they were renovating the 777 to be as comfortable as the A350, but it looks like that hasn’t happened by the experience you had. I’m not looking forward to my flight from Manila to Toronto now as I am a,so flying the 777. My flight to Manila is on the A350 so at least I have one flight on the newer ✈️.
We love PAL because of the direct flight. I still have high hopes with the renovations and all that maybe in the future we will all have a better experience. Bring a laptop maybe. It’s a long flight with no entertainment. For what it’s worth… the customer service is excellent and the food is pretty good. 🥰
We are booking with PAL business Vancouver to manilla for next december 2024 any idea if the renovatiin will happen by then? This review was scary!
The worst business class seat. Not laying flat, no privacy, TV is too far ahead. Not for a long haul flight
Ha! Same thought here. It was a painful sleepless long flight. Maybe they will upgrade someday? The flight attendants were nice though. But I don’t think I’d be flying with PAL for a long while if I don’t have to.
@@cyshyfamily I believe eventually they will upgrade those seats...but that will come with the higher price for sure. The reason why PAL is cheaper than other cuz the terrible long hual business class seats. Therefore, as a transfer flight to other destination, I rather fly ANA, JAL, EVA, Starlux, SIN.

I wish I could say good things about your service. I did a business class upgrade (paid a lot extra LAX to MNL) and while I was waiting for my flight at LAX, they called me up to say that the entertainment system on my seat would be broken and that they didn't have another seat. So I said that I was disappointed but I would accept it. The gate agent offered me 20000 airmiles for my trouble. I said ok and sat down to wait. they then called me up again and said they had another business class seat. I thanked him. when I got on the plane and it took off, i found out that the seat didn't recline. It was a problem because I had a fractured tailbone which is why I upgraded. There was nothing they could do so I accepted it. When I got home, I emailed customer service to explain, they responded once asking me for details which I provided. Then I never hear from them again. I emailed them twice more. No response. No airmiles. Nothing. I'll stick to Korean Air from now on.
