- This flight was one of the few flights that I went into completely blind. I knew based on my seat choice that it was a 2-3-2 cabin but othere than that I really didnt know waht to expect. Philippine airlines blew my mind. I love every moment on board. The food was delicious, the crew were friendly and the seat comfortable. I believe that PAL is an airline that everyone should fly if they need or want to travel to Southeast Asia.

Unfortunately, the missing items in the amenity kit is typical of the Philippines . It is a lovely country, with delightful people, but run by corrupt people, who hold the country down to a third country level in many cases.

This is because Filipinos are not intellectual and smart voters. They can easily be persuaded and fooled by fakenews and black propaganda. Philippines also is at the bottom of comprehension ranking worldwide.

Back in early 2000s, took PAL business class. Plane was old with hard seats, food unappetizing, no snacks, and the stewardesses just disappeared. Forget about the schedule. Hope there’s no deja vu this time around.
Most of my friends they regret flying Philippine airlines. Many complain with food, carry on luggage, cancellations flights, more fees. When I heard it never fly that airline.

Great video Taylor . Could not agree more have flown PAL to Cebu via Manila in 2019 and 18 . Economy. I paid extra not much for a choice seat and understand now for a fee can purchase the seat next to you for extra room. I like there bidding upgrade to business option as well . Great review.

Ive flown PAL, Aseana, American Airlines and JAL business class, I can say PAL is at the bottom. For me JAL and Aseana are tied on top.
Did you use their Wi-Fi on the plane? If so how much was it for the flight and are you able to stream Netflix and CZcams. Thanks
I did. It was quite impressive over the pacific, I was in business class so the Wi-Fi was complimentary via a voucher. I don’t know if Netflix would work but I was able to scroll instagram and TikTok with no issues

Have you flown EVA airlines? I’ve heard they are top notch. I don’t know if they fly in and out of the states.
EVA is great. I’ve flown with them once and really enjoyed my flight
Back in 2003 to 2009 I flew LAX to MNL with a connection to GES 6 times a year or more on PAL. PR 103 connecting with PR453 I always flew Business Class. I have no complaints. PAL is a very good airline.

Unfortunately, you cannot. I was lucky that the gentleman next to me never went to sleep so if I needed to get up it was easy. But if you do t know the passenger next to you there could be some awkward moments if they wake up.

How wide are the business class seats on Philippines Airlines? I'm heavier than you and I'm concerned about being able to fit.
I want to say they are around 21 or 22 inches. You’ll definitely be fine laying down. Possibly a little snug sitting up
Traveling all over asia every other month on many different Asian airlines i would suggest PAL is just an average airline. PAL is the only airline that makes an announcement that you will be prosecuted if any thing is removed when deplaning.
Nice business class seat and food looked amazing. I was also wondering wondering did they require you to wear a mask?
The mask situation was weird. I didn’t have one and the gate agents said we were required to wear them. I was told that the cabin crew would pass them out. Some of the crew weren’t wearing masks and they never made me put one on. I will say that my flight from Manila to Jakarta they were very strict with mask wearing.

I took first class flight from Manila to JFK, New York in 2019. Expecting to be very comfortable, the bed or rather the seat is so hard it gave me more back trouble. I chose first class because of my back, but I was so disappointed. If the airplanes are the same , then I will just pay more than suffer more back pains with hard ,stiff seats & or bed.
My wife and I took Qatar Airways from Manila to JFK in September and it will likely be our airline of choice for that flight each year. The food is fine dining and available when you want it. The seat lays flat and is turned into an actual bed by the flight attendants. Depending on the airline, if you’re flying with a spouse, the two seats can be turned into a double bed. The QSuites are truly amazing. It was top-notch and surprisingly cheaper than other airlines if you book well in advance.

My PAL bus class flight from Bris to Manila June 12th 2024 was a disaster...they couldn't make it to Manila due to low fuel!!! Landed at Clark airforce base for refueling, meaning stuck on plane for over an hour while that happened, then when finally made it into Manila 2 hours late, they kept us on the plane while buses turned up in the rain, no airbridge for us...then after the buses turned up they still wanted us to stay on the plane because of the tiny gap between the stairs and the steps letting a little bit of rain in, so they wanted and didn't have umbrellas ready for the tiny gap!!! Everyone at this stage just wanted off the plane! Flight home 2 weeks later on June 21, the flight was delayed and flight number changed a few days prior, and even then on the day, the flight was just landing at the supposed new dept time! So departure was 2 hours later than the already delayed scheduled time. Will never use PAL ever again! Customer service was a waste of time...We are the paying public, but it feels like we owe thanks to them! Always feel like getting kicked up the backside on the way out of Phils! Thanks for coming, please don't come back!
Could you share the best/easiest way to book a flight from San Francisco or LAX to either Manila or Cebu?
Is there any price advantage by leaving from San Francisco? Is it best to book through PAL website or another way like kayak and other such sites. Is business class crazy expensive? I would be very uncomfortable with economy seat for that long distance. Good informative video.
So this flight was about $3500 one way. Typically it’ll be cheaper to fly round trip. If you want to go nonstop PAL is your only option. EVA, Singapore, Asiana, Korean Air, ANA and JAL all offer 1 stop flight. Ultimately when flying from the west coast there isn’t a benefit or draw back between LAX and SFO. I fly out of LAX solely because I have family there. If you’re trying to fly through to Cebu, PAL is your best choice

I thought Philippine Airlines had angle flat seats. Which one did you have and also it would be helpful if I knew how tall you were.
A few of their planes have angled seats, not this one. It would have been a major talking point. I am 6 foot 2.

Judy 0..0 The purser on my PAL MNL - YVR flight (in business class) was Judy too..not sure if they are the same person but the Judy on my flight was good too...PAL Business Class is bit old but still give me a decent amount of sleep, the crews were very attentive and friendly. Food was decent, I had halu halu instead of ice cream... I didn't expect to have halu halu in the flight, it was quite interesting... I only had halu halu when I used to live in Toronto.
Star Alliance is way better than United Polaris lounges..I wish PAL would get newer planes,but then the price would also go way up..
I have flown PAL twice in Business Class and i can tell you its not very good compared to other quality airlines I would not fly them again.

Business class is that there is only one toilet. And it, typically, is in use by the flight attendants. If they had two loos it would be one of the best products in the air.
Fortunately, I rarely found the Lav occupied. But I agree that would be incredibly annoying.

There are better choices from Los Angeles to Cebu you take Incheon Airport KE and OZ🇰🇷 HKG CX🇭🇰 PVG MU🇨🇳 SIN SQ TPE CI/BR🇹🇼 Then CEB same with EWR/JFK.
Since my mother is a long-time customer of Philippine Airline she would have actually gone with the Filipino option
Too long a flight with so many change of planes and layover. Will never ever do that and just fly straight! You board, eat, sleep and wake up in your destination rested!
@@patriciaandrada4 Correct but those airlines I mentioned belong to the Skytrax 5-star ratings that are based within 2-4 hrs of both MNL and CEB. The cheapest is SQ21/918 ticket for $863 when SQ has a deal active

I completely agree that 2-3-2 is wildly outdated in business class but it’s a good product. Lots of legroom and a seat I can lay on my back in. Hard for me to complain about that.

I couldn’t agree more. It is a dated product but it’s still very comfortable and the service was great, as was the food.

You don't have to believe me, and that totally okay. I am very much aware of the reputation that Singapore Airlines has in the industry and as an aviation journalist and trip reporting youtuber its my job to know these things but on a head to head test of both Philippine Airlines and Singapore Airlines I was thoroughly impressed by PAL and Singapore was the worst flight I've had this year. Yes, I agree with you that this airlines has terrible flight schedule. My daughter must stay overnight in Manila from Shanghai to Jakarta due to flight from Shanghai was delay 3 times so flight to Jakarta has departured before she arrive in Manila. Same with my experience 2 months ago where I must fly with another airlines because PAL change their schedule that I must stay in Manila for 3 days before continue to Jakarta. So I decided to not use this airlines anymore.

A marketing scheme from who? I paid for this flight myself. And it wasn’t delayed. I flew Singapore right after this flight and head to head PAL was better in this case. Did you even watch the video? Or my SQ video? The food and service on PAL was fantastic. The food and service on SQ wasn’t good. It is what it is.
