Nice review. I have the ProOne chrome shower filter. It's very attractive, removes as many contaminants as their drinking water filter (over 200), the arm can be adjusted up and down a bit, and the water pressure actually seems a little stronger with it than without it. I have used the Berkey shower filter before this one (filter only, attached to my own shower head), and it had great water pressure. It did cause the water flow to be angled too far out, like the Aquasana. It also only removes a small number of contaminants.
Have you tried aqua earth?
you can add the swivel action by adding a connector ball joint or an adjustable arm connector, prolly to the end of the filter since the filter is prolly too heavy otherwise... but yeah, thanks for your reviews, think I know what filters I want now 👍
Is there different settings on the shower head for different flows?
Why dont you get a shower head holder attachment with the sticky part and stick it lower on the wall
Aquasana claims a 6 month life. Af first my hair & skin felt so much better than pre-filter, however at only 3 months my hair feels 'gunky' (for lack of a better way to say it) when the water flows through it. Like the water is depositing something nasty that should NOT be there. If I wash my hair in the kitchen sink it doesn't feel that way, so I know it has to be the Aquasana filter. For the cost of a 6 month filter I cannot afford to replace every 3 months.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm guessing Alexa lives in the Seattle area, which has relatively clean water. I just moved from Seattle to Albuquerque which has terrible water. So I bought a Mini Classic CT Countertop Water Distiller for drinking and cooking but now I need to find a good shower filter.
Did you test your water before and after use? Did it remove Fluoride?
I didn't, but based on the filter media used within the filter (activated carbon and KDF), it won't remove a whole lot of fluoride if any.

does it remove PFAS ?
PFAS can be removed using activated carbon which is exactly the type of filter media the Aquasana Shower Filter uses. However, the filter has never been tested for PFAS removal to our knowledge. So I really don't know to be honest.
Will you review the Berkey?
It's on our list, yes. But when reviewing the Berkey it's important to us to conduct some real lab testing, since there have been quite a few reports about aluminum leaching with their optional fluoride filters. So, this will take a little bit longer, but we'll definitely do it.
The company actually DOES claim that "the filter media is NSF certified" I'm not sure if that means the entire filter is NSF certified or if that just means that the compounds in the filter have been NSF certified which would leave open the possibility that the application of those compounds in this design may or may not make sufficient use of those compounds to meet NSF standards. That said even if the latter is the case that's more than the vast majority of these shower filter companies can claim. I think this one is the best bet all things considered at this point...
You are exactly right. There are many filter media that are NSF certified. But if they aren't used the right way, what good is that? So yes, there is a big difference between filter media being NSF certified versus the entire filter setup.
Also, remember that NSF certifications can also mean that a certain component is lead-free or manufactured from save materials. Not all NSF certifications mean a filter (medium) is effective at removing contaminant X.

Sorry, you lost me when you called an adjustable wrench “pliers” when failing to tighten the knurled bonnet nut, then blamed the leak on the unnecessary PFTE tape (the rubber gasket does all of the sealing on that installation when properly tightened).
Thanks for your feedback. Yes, I'd be the first to admit that I'm not very familiar with these things. But I still like to think that I'm well within the target audience. Not everybody knows how to do these plumbing-related things as well as you do obviously.
