    About Aldi: ALDI in the business of offering high-quality groceries at everyday low prices. And since more than 90 percent of the products on they're shelves are ALDI-exclusive brands, they have more influence on how those products are sourced, produced and brought to our shelves. They take pride in the premium quality they deliver to their shoppers every day-products made with their customers’ safety, health and well-being in mind. ALDI works hard to make sure shoppers are able to make informed choices about the products they buy at ALDI. aldiusa

    My son managed an Aldi for a few years. What most people don't know is that many of the Aldi "knockoffs" aren't really...they are made by the same companies that make the brand name stuff. ..I love Aldi! Good prices, good food....good for ME!!

    When anyone buys Aldi's brands, if there's something they don't like, for any reason, it can be returned; Aldi gives your money back, and gives you a new 2nd package of whatever it was.
    Also, because they're a European company, their food-production places are under much stricter food guidelines than the U.S. has; as far as what types of chemicals & other non-food products are allowed to be in people'sfood.
    Most Aldi (and Lidl) grocery products have less calories & more nutrition per serving than comparable food produced/packaged in the U.S.

    OK um the Aldi's brand is actually made by the companies that make the name brand ones. They change things slightly to make them for Aldi's. Some make them better because of Aldi's standards. My uncle works for a name brand company.

      I had this argument with my sister just the other day. Great Value (Wal Mart) does not own & operate a whole potato chip factory. They contract out to Frito-Lay. For example - after a production run of Lays Sour Cream & Onion potato chips are done, the packing is switched over to Great Value branded bags, and #2 potatoes (because the prettier, fresher #1 potatoes were used earlier by Frito-Lay) are then sliced & dropped into the SAME OIL (only now slightly used) dried on the same line & seasoned in the same hopper - bagged & boxed by THE SAME machines.

  • @Queenofcats36

    A lot of the time the products are made in the same factory, it's just that the pricier brand will have more of certain ingredients than the cheaper ones. Here in NZ we have strict food laws and there's a lot that isn't allowed in our food. I'm always amazed at the ingredient lists of some American foods.

      The problem I have with ‘non brands’ however is the itchiness. I don’t know what the difference is in the product but my hooha does not like the coating of the non branded products. It is not good to me (ok when it’s not too hot, and once in a while, but cannot use on the regular). I also think it’s slightly unfair about the amount of liquid as Always has some different absorbing properties (and normally super good at keeping you dry feeling). But fair play, I would go to aldi if I could wear them because they are indeed way cheaper!

      @alexandra4334 Před 2 lety +3

      Thats a myth actually. I heard something similar a few years ago. But Trader Joes started separately by someone else unrelated, and later was sold to a company that is owned by one of the 2 brothers you mention. Also originally Aldi was created by the father of those 2, then was split and both those companies still own Aldi but in different countries. So neither brother started Aldi or TJs, and Trader Joes is currently owned and run by the parent company of one of the families businesses. And the brothers companies both own and run Aldis in different countries.

      Although I'm Canadian and don't have Aldi, and prices are crazy expensive here for garbage bags, (don't have a Costco here either) I prefer the better quality and the scented bags even if they are so expensive. We only use 1/2 kitchen sized bag of garbage weekly now that it's just 2 of us, but IF we happen to cook meat or something could smell, out it goes right away. We don't cook much so I guess spending more on those isn't a huge deal for us anymore.
