    I like to say Thank You for this wonderful tutorial. It was very intellutual and knowledgeable of how to fix a mirror. I had a damaged mirror due to overheating & could no longer see out of the mirror. I was able to locate the passenger mirror along with the whole side window assembly at a BMW salvage yard. This saved me $300 out of my pocket because BMW was wanted $440 for a new glass mirror just by itself. By following you tutorial step by step, I was able to successfully switched out the heated sensor and mirror. Now I got a happy wife so I assume I keep having a happy life. LOL

      What I also did is put a dab of Vaseline on the pins before putting them back in. I forgot to include it in the video… it helps.

    Thanks for the tutorial, but never clean the oxidation on the contacts by sandpaper. It removes the coating on the contact and goes worse soon. Always use a electric contact cleaner spray, and you'll be fine 😊

    My son has a 2014 435i and he broke the actual mirror trying to remove it to change out mirror covers. I bought a new mirror bit now the mirror won’t move. I can hear the motor trying to move the tilt but it won’t move almost like it’s stuck. I’m assuming he damaged the motor. I removed the long screw big I can’t pull off the mechanism that tilts. Is there a trick. Can you think of something else to fix this issue before I just replace the motor?

    My mirrors are supposed to fold but they don't. All other movement is fine.
    Please advise if it's a cable issue... thanks

      Im not a mechanic, but I think you are correct, it sounds more like a cable issue rather than electric.

    No specials tools yet you need a t10 torx screwdriver

      Yes, it’s a VERY VERY special torx screwdriver, nearly impossible to find. 😂 but I’m not gonna tell you where I got mine.

    Hi I have an issue with my electric mirrors on my bmw they just do what ever they want and face all directions would this help do u think

    • @yourludeissick
      @yourludeissick  Před 6 měsíci

      Definitely. That’s exactly what mine were doing. It seemed like they had a mind of their own. lol. Apparently it’s common on these older BMW’s.

    Does this help with the actual adjustment of the mirrors from inside of the car/reverse tilt or is it just only for making them fold ?

    • @yourludeissick
      @yourludeissick  Před 3 měsíci

      Yes. It helps with the actual adjustment of the mirror. This procedure cleans the contact points inside the plug. It actually has nothing to do with the folding of the mirrors, because my mirrors are NOT power folding. I have to manually fold them with my hand.

      Umm, it sounds like the motor inside is in its way out. If you are hearing the buzzing but it’s moving very slowly then it’s probably the case. This cleaning of the contact points probably won’t help you. I would go to a junkyard and grab the black round circle puck which I pulled out and swap it out. Hope that helps.
