Feels like I'm watching model railroading history in the making
That's going to be a great basement space. If I may suggest: Take your time and finish the basement rooms first. You'll be glad you did. Crew lounge. Work Area. Art /recording studio. Layout room. Put in nice flooring. I used black rubber puzzle squares right over the cement floor and a carpet over the center of the room. Stud all the walls and insulate, drywall, prime and paint. Upgrade electrical if needed. Add more outlets than you think you need, add lots of LED lighting above the layout. I'm so glad I listened and did the room first. It made building the layout much more enjoyable. I can't wait to see what you build! It's going to be amazing!
Wow the space is great. I would have trains running everywhere in that basement. Can't wait to see how your layout will look.
Congratulations! Looks like a lot of space and a lot of possibilities
Congratulations on the purchase. What a wonderful space to work with. I look forward to your progress.
Congrats on new home, and glad to see the big basement space. This will be fun to follow.
Congrats on the house. I like how the previous owner started to make rooms. I always wanted a recording booth in my basement when I used to Podcast. Can't wait to see what comes next.

Congratulations on the new house. That will be a nice area for your hobbies
This is beautiful, you gonna have a badass layout in there!
I hate to see the old layout go but I can’t wait to see what you build in the new space.
Cograts onnew house i know it's always exciting.
1) uve seen people spray cielings white. Reflects light , or drop cielings.
2) corrugated metal my interfer with DCC.
3) Do layout the way you want , it's your railroad not to mention your an artist. FREE SPIRIT!
You can save. Switches by taking an eight inch drywall spatchuler and slid it under the switch. If you have them ( frogs) , wired cut wire long.
Good luck with the house your business and your railroad.
Yayyyy I’m excited 🎉!!!!
That is AMAZING Bro... wishing you the Best!

Hahaha it's already a done deal...
Congratulations bro
Cant wait to help on the bench work................................
Muy buen espacio, tiene muchas posibilidades...
Better change out that smoke detector battery! Nice space, always sucks taking a layout down but growth is good!
Late to the party. I love your videos, man. Cinematic mode! 😄 I'm so happy about your new house and know you will have awesome ideas for how to use those spaces. Lots to do, good that you're a young man. 👍
Congratulations on buying a house. Nice space. I would be cautious about the corrugated metal, however. It would definitely look cool, but could have an adverse effect on the acoustics of your layout space.
We really appreciate your advice about the corrugated metal. We'll make sure to take it into consideration when designing the layout room.
More vlogs please
Might be easy to move that door, just swap with the window.

I'll join others on the congratulations on the new house - it's your own kingdom to carve as you please!
It was already mentioned below (@thecnwmondovilinepaulscota7304) and I agree, finish the basement. Forget the "Fallout" look because you don't want stuff falling on your layout, or other areas like your recording studio or the art room, from above. Also, despite the dropped ceiling being a tempting solution because it's quick, cellotex tiles "snow down" over time, so avoid them. Close the ceiling and walls with drywall/gypsum boards and make it look neat and cozy.
I'd start with an inspection of the infrastructure and making sure it's all good (electrical, plumbing, hvac, etc). It's hard to tell exactly, but I don't think that wall at the layout space is load bearing (maybe the opposite one on the furnace side is). Never the less, have a structural engineer inspect everything first, then get rid of that wall and the one at the back, and open up the whole area. That way you don't have to worry about a liftout at any doors (outside entrance, or the numerous door frames left). Just another hassle/headache you won't need to deal with.
Once you have the basement rooms layout figured out (including removal/addition of rooms/walls), get an hvac engineer to "balance" the system with offset to positive pressure. Make sure hvac is good and you have a good supply and return in every room in the basement. This is vital to keeping the dust out!
Then move onto electrical...outlets and good lighting everywhere, and plumbing (spray booth needs a utility sink next to it). Also, remember that it needs to vent out, so locate the spray booth on the outside wall.
Specifically in the layout space, I'd paint the celing black, and put track lighting for accent illumination/shadows all around the benchwork contours. Your scenery and buildings will come to life.
It's definitely going to be an epic journey, and we'll be along the way for the ride. Take it one step at a time, planning ahead and asking lots of questions before committing to anything. House is a money pit so you want to avoid costly mistakes in the future. :)
Outstanding!! Congratulations on your new spot!!! Exciting. 💯🫵✌️
