    You mentioned Mining, but didn't mention the Ancient Nordic Pickaxe. Glover gives you a quest to get it, and therefore it becomes a quest item. That means that it is weightless and undroppable, as long as you never turn in the quest (recommended). The fact that it is needed to mine Stalhrim is just a bonus. Re: No Dragons
    There’s also an option to disable random dragon spawns! As long as you’ve got the quest “A Blade in the Dark” (the one where you accompany Delphine to Kynesgrove) active, no random dragon attacks will occur! The only active dragons will be the ones in dragon roost sites like Shearpoint or Ancient’s Ascent, and I BELIEVE some will circle above their burial mounds, but never wander far from them. It’s a nice little alternative if you want to avoid the hassle of the random dragon encounters but also want to have access to Solstheim and the Dragonborn DLC.

      Then your game is bugged to hell and back. When A Blade in the Dark is activated, the game sets a global variable in the internal settings, MQ106TurnOffRandomDragons, to 1, stopping random dragons from spawning. After the quest is over, that variable goes back to 0, and they can start again. As I said, in a (non-buggy) game, while ABitD is active, the only non-named dragons you'll meet are on word walls like Shearpoint, or around their dragon mounds.
      Another possibility is that those dragons had already spawned before you started the quest. Stopping random spawns doesn't magically delete everything that's already been spawned.

    15:51 Alternatively, you can also use Mjoll the Lioness as a follower. She's marked as essential in the game files and as such, she cannot die. She's a 2 handed wielder so she works well as a tank. Allowing you to stand back and cast comfortably while she soaks up enemy damage. Just be sure to give her some magica resistance items because she can still be downed by your spells. There're other essential followers you can get, but I found her to be one of the best.

    • @cleyjen
      @cleyjen Před rokem +3

      @Eric Neuls She is easily my first choice to marry as well (because she's immortal). Adventuring with your spouse has one major bonus in Skyrim (and Fallout). That is; ANY bed (bedroll, hay pile, coffin etc.) you sleep in while out adventuring with them grants you the *Lovers Comfort* EXP boost. Gaining you 15% more EXP to all skills for 8 in-game hours. To maximize this effect, First get the *Aetherial Crown* and activate the *Lover standing stone* in the Reach. This stone also grants a 15% EXP boost to all skill increases. Then go to the *3 Guardian standing stones* east of Riverwood. Equip the crown, and activate the Guardian stone you want to focus on. this will store the Lover stone bonus in the crown. Normally the Lover stone bonus cannot be stacked with any rested EXP bonus unless... Before you sleep in any bed with you spouse as a follower, unequip the crown. Reequip it after you wake up and you'll then get both the Lovers Comfort bonus and the Lover stone bonus at the same time. That along with the 20% Guardian stone EXP bonus, and you'll be getting a massive 50% XP boost to any skills pertaining to your chosen Guarding stone, and a 30% bonus to all other skill increases for 8 in-game hours. (24 minutes in real time.)
      Side note: On PC you can use console commands to adjust the time scale settings and increase the bonus's real time duration. To do this press ~ to open the console, then type "set timescale to X" (without quotes) where X is the number of minutes you want to pass in-game for every minute in real time. Press Enter and then the ~ key again to close the console. To return to the game's default time type "set timescale to 20". If you set the value to 10 the bonus will last twice as long but so will the games day/night cycle. If you set the value to 1 the game time will be the same as real time and the bonus will last 8 real world hours. Happy EXP grinding👍😁👍

    15:52 You mentioned that the downside of the new elemental spells is that it affects your followers. A tip I just discovered to mitigate this in my first Skyrim run (yes, in 2022) is that you can get an special ability by reading the Black Book: Winds of Change in Solstheim. When you finish the quest (you only have to advance linearly in the Apocrypha until you reach the Black Book), you can choose one of 3 abilities (orbs glowing out of the book), and pick Companion's Insight: Your attacks, shouts, and destruction spells do no damage to your followers.
    You can get the book when you defeat the boss at the end of Raven Rock Mine, during the quest "The Final Descent". You just have to speak to a guy inside the mine who is discussing with her wife and help him to explore the mine instead of him.
    Not sure if there is any level that you need to do this, because I got contacted really early in the game by the Cultist so I had the chance to get there like at level 10 I guess, I just didn't do it before. The only thing is that the masked wizard boss of the dungeon is powerful, so it is probably a good idea go there with some levels and be prepared to defeat the guy.

    • @antiochus87
      @antiochus87 Před rokem

      I don't think there's a level requirement or if there is it's quite low. The cultists attack you after a certain point early in the main quest, likely *Dragon Rising*, which initiates the majority of the dragon encounters and random attacks.
      However you can just go to Windhelm docks and go to Solstheim before this and access the majority of the Dragonborn DLC that way. Also there is some Anniversary Edition quests that will direct you there anyway.

    • @RandomName45
      @RandomName45 Před rokem

      There are no quest or level requirements to acquire Black Book: Winds of Change.
      You can literally leave Helgen straight to Solstheim (250 gold passage).
      Of course, the enemies are a bit tough, so it's recommend for experienced players.
      That being said, Solstheim's main quest can only be started after completing "The Way of the Voice" (the quest we get the second word from Unrelenting Force + Whirlwind Sprint).
      That's vanilla game, Anniversary Edition DLC not required. ;)

    The novice magic hood you receive at the start of the game, can be quick worn to regain your magic, then you can re-equip whatever helm or mask you were wearing before.
    Companions: These are merely walking & talking bottomless bags of holding. Instead of "trading" goods with your companion, have them pick up whatever goods you don't want to hold yourself. Doesn't matter if the companion is overencumbered or not, they'll still carry said item(s).
    Duplication: have your companion stand at wait right next to the Smithing home in Whiterun. Drop said goods one by one on the ground. Have your companion pick up the goods. Leave whiteout and re-enter. You should see some of the goods on the ground. Pick them up, and retrieve the goods from your companions pockets as well.

    A bit late but a tip for Goldenhills Plantation that is great if you are wanting to run an Alchemist playthrough. Grow Creep Cluster, Mora Tapinella, and Scaly Pholiota. These three ingredients are used to make Fortifiy Carry Weight potions and they are some of the most expensive potions you can make. So, not only are you making a pretty decent profit naturally over time with your farm, but you can use the grown ingredients to make pretty expensive potions you can turn around and sell for even more profit.
    And if you are playing on Survival Mode, you can also grow Blue Mountain Flowers and Wheat to make Fortify Health potions. My layout is: 6 Blue Mountain Flowers planted in the planters in front of the main farm building, 11 Wheat plants in the small side farm area, and a mix of Creep Cluster, Mora Tapinella, and Scaly Pholiota in the larger 25 plot field. The only issue I have is the hitbox for manually harvesting your Creep Cluster can be a little iffy and difficult to activate at times. (Also, I am using a mod to make things more grassy and beautiful and some of the crop planting locations in the fields can be hidden by the extra added grass...so be aware of that.)

    there is also a second disadvantage to the elemental flare type spells, which can also be used to an advantage, when they explode upon hitting something they will send any small items in the area flying a short distance, so, books, gems and a few other small items will be moved, and can get pushed off a table or behind something where you might not see it.
    you can use that to your advantage for certain traps.. the spell casting traps you can use them to knock the soul gem powering the trap down, for rope traps you would normally trip walking past, you can hit them with a spell, also works great on rune traps. (the rope traps you can actually hit with anything, spells, arrows, or even just activate if you get close, then back off quick so you don't get hit)
    the farm is great, so many plots to plant in, harvest each plot for 3 or 4 plants each, then go inside to the pantry and get another of every plant, plus milk, honey and eggs if you have the other upgrades. also has all the crafting stations, even a cooking pot. also the "profits" mentioned in the video. the very rare yellow mountain flowers also grow in one spot near the apiary, no idea why you can't plant those.

    To stop dragon attacks, follow the main story until delphine gives you the horn and asks you to go down to her basement, close the wardrobe door behind her and walk away. It stops all random dragon attacks, but leaves the ones on the summits still there. This has worked from day one of the vanilla game and still works in EVERY version since then. This also unlocks the Dragonborn DLC AND allows the civil war questline to function normally. This method does not prevent or break any other questline at all and is therefore FAR superior to any other method.

    Some advice for my favorite playstyle, sword and board! Use bash attacks correctly will completly parry all damage coming at you, and you have an opening to strike after. This allows me to kill giants, centurions, and powerful draugr very early on. And with realitive ease, while also being intense and fun! Seems obvious but apparently most people i talk to don't know that

      I've left that cave with 100 stealth, then go talk to Faendal to get him as a follower, get the golden claw quest from Lucan, complete that quest. Then cruise to Bleak Falls sneak and let Faendal do the work, return the claw and head to Whiterun (help the Companions kill a giant) then get soul trap and muffle from Farengar. Once I've soul trapped myself to at least 90 Conjuration, I hire the carriage in Whiterun to take me to Winterhold and master the skill at the College. Off to Fort Amol to get Bound Bow, then off to Whiterun to start the Dark Brotherhood (so I can get Shadowmere).

Other significant weightless weapons are Balgrufs Greatsword (temperable). Or the civil war message war axe. You can get the Rueful axe and carry it around weightlessly until you return to the statue of Clavicus vile. Power attacks = cheap. Shagrol's orcish warhammer is weightless too.

    Since you asked: I do maintain a Destruction play-style on legendary difficulty, and it's very viable with perks in the crafting skill trees. With high enough smithing, smithing gear, and potions, you can get over the armor cap with only gauntlets and boots, allowing you to wear robes/circlet for a mage build. Fully enchanted those items, plus jewelry, for 0 casting cost to any destruction spell, plus a lot of magic resistance. Using alchemy for potions of destruction (easy to make from nightshade and glowing mushroom,) to buff spell damage to an extreme degree. Then, I mainly use the expert level spell Touch of Death, which is both high damage and health absorption. You can be siphoning hundreds of damage per cast, and spam-casting, never really losing any health at all.

    Disintegrate actually does have a benefit. Any enemy hit by a shock spell below 10% or taken to that point by the spell will be turned into an ash pile. Turning enemies to ash is useful because it prevents ragdolling and glitches with corpses, however it does open up a few new glitches. Most of the time the 10% health thing isn’t much of a benefit because you should be doing much more damage than that per hit, but with dragons and other high HP enemies it’s a big boon.

    16:00 Legendary player here... Destruction power is based on alchemy, alchemy is based on enchanting...
    Also, I haven't gone super into the math, but I imagine a pick axe (which hits 2 times with a power attack) enchanted with 2 magic's, forgetting chaos damage which is broken, and say just lightning and fire + best possible fortify destruction potion + weakness to magic/shock/fire poison is best magic DPS, but also probably over kill for most anything in the game.
    Ofc with broken chaos damage and the same method, the damage is even more game breakingly OP.
    For actual spell casting, my favorite is the sun flare and North wind spells from the DB DLC because there is no cast animation. 1 powerful fortify destruction potion, and then just explode. Great for mobbing up entire waves of enemies all at once. It demands strategic use though since it can only be charged once a day and one has to return to the sun and wind stone to have the skill. The pro is casting 2 master tier spells in a massive AOE while simultaneously shielding, drawing a bow, shouting or swinging a weapon.

The arrows they fire into the targets can be collected for free without them being counted as "stolen". All you have to do is just stand off to the side of one of the targets and face the target while being just close enough to grab the arrows that get shot into the target.

Say you want Dwarven arrows for example. Pickpocket all the arrows the guard has and give them 1 Dwarven arrow. They will essentially spawn an endless amount of Dwarven arrows while they target practice that you can then just take right out of the target for free.
