his expertise with woodworking no doubt helped him set up Grizzly that makes woodworking tools. very rarely we see CEO's getting down to shop floors and doing such stuff. the video was so serene and a real pleasure to watch.
It's funny - I searched youtube for "simple wood box" and somehow ended up watching this video start to finish. That is some amazing craftsmanship and I would love to see Mr. Balolia do some more woodworking projects.
Mr. Balolia loves sharing his woodworking projects! Here is a link to an awesome cane that he made: czcams.com/video/zCVD3sEQW5Y/video.html
It's great to see an owner so close to his work and business.
I lost focus daydreaming about owning just one of those wicked tools. How much fun I could have in that shop!
Shiraz Balolia of Grizzly and Larry Potterfield of Midway USA are probably the only CEOs who know how to use every product their company sells.
It is fun to watch ether of them work in the shop.
Having just read your book, these boxes epitomize your passion and dedication to achieving the best you possibly can. A remarkable and inspirational story.
Thank you for all of your support Laurence. Great to hear you enjoyed the book.
The fact that the CEO is a wood/metal worker is awesome.
Thank you Danny. Everyone working here at Grizzly feels the same way. ~Kevin
Love this. It would be so much fun to spend shop time with Mr. Balolia. However, I won't be wearing my pinstripe suit slacks!
This man is incredibly talented, and a true passion for his wood working, as well as his passion for his business. This is one man i wish I could meet just once in my life.
I loved this. I want more videos with Shiraz!!

You can do it!
This is a man who understands what he sells
Just one word...... STUNNING!
Labor of love for family, there's nothing more satisfying...Beautifully done!
Very impressive attention to detail and knowledge of the shop. I dare say, not too many CEOs have such knowledge of the tools in their industry. Again, very impressive.

Wow! Beautiful gifts! Well done Shiraz!
Respect sir, I can see you love what you do
This would be lovely to store ashes and trinkets of loved ones who have passed
Yaa, you cheat, but you do it so well. Machines I wish I had access to, but I do not. However, I am in the process of making jewelry boxes for my daughters and Granddaughters, (12 in all) and Memory boxes for my sons and grandsons, (7 in all). Not as fancy or complex, but equal amount of love. Thank you for sharing your application of love and talent.
you do very fine work

Great video!
Nice labor of love Shiraz. The wood really pops when you finished them with the oil. Lots of good tips, wish I had a milling machine like yours.
Thank you for the support Frank.
@@grizzlymachines Are the heirloom boxes for sale?
@@paedahe4975 Sorry, they are not for sale. They were a personal project for Mr. Balolia.
Very beautiful piece of artwork and the attention to details is incredible. Envy your end mill, and I am just drooling over it.
Thank you very much Pheroz.
Wow that was amazing. Thank you for sharing. Please do more of these. I just retired. Building a work shop in my Garage. I have some tools. A Router table with a power lift is next on my list. The boxes are gorgeous. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Vincent and congratulations on your retirement.
@@grizzlymachines I am $130 short of getting a Grizzly T1244 Router Table Wing for Table Saws. Hopping after Christmas. Them the lift system. Have an awesome day.
You can never have too many clamps ;) Well done Sir and Merry Christmas!
Thank you Paul and Merry Christmas. ~Kevin
Mr. Shiraz, why do you need boxes, start making cool stocks for rifles... :)))))))
Good work Shiraz
Nice beautiful boxes

California exotic hardwoods
Thank you very much.
Only about two-thirds through the video and I had to stop and comment. Absolutely stunning work and design on the boxes, the attention to every detail is a joy to watch. I do not have access to the same tools but I now have five or six new features/ideas to incorporate in my boxes. Thank you for the inspiration. A question about the resawing - I have your G0513X2. What blade would you recommend? I also have your G1023RLWX table saw and your G7943 drill press and really enjoy working with them.
Thank you for all of your support Blake. I will gladly check with the team on which blades would be best for that machine. What type of projects are you using it for? ~Kevin
A cool Old Timey trick on getting that Maple "fiddleback" grain to pop is to make an air tight box with cardboard or what have you and place the maple in there with a tuna can full of 18% ammonia it will darken up the Maple grain and really make it stand out. Try the process on a scrap piece and time how long it takes to get the look you want then lightly sand and finish. i was taught this by a local Gunstock Maker and did this on a Mannlicher stock he nade me and it looks amazing. I believe this process was thought up by Gustav Stickley (i may be wrong on that) story is he bought some oak that was in a cow barn and it had a beautiful color to it. He figured out that the Ammonia from the cow urine in the air had stained the wood. At least that's the story i was told. Be it right or wrong it works well. The process is called wood Fuming. I hear there are Dyes out now days that will do the same thing made by Simtec Coatings. Those are awesome Heirloom boxes that you have made Shiraz and you did fantastic work on them. You gota love tools, they can really make your life easier and allow you to do wonderful things.
Are the plans or CNC cut paths available?
Hi there! Unfortunately the plans aren't available, as it was a highly personal project. It's wonderful that you're so appreciative of the work and thought that went into these gorgeous pieces!
You missed a spot!
Why is he exposing his trade secrets?
