    1:46 to 69mph. And Orpington to Petts Wood is downhill 1:310 increasing to 1:200. Hmm... 465921 and 465927, taking it easy for the first 10 seconds, managed 1:23 (2nd oldest video on my channel if you want to look). They had far less of a downhill of 1:550 eventually climbing at 1:220.
    As I said, BRELS lose out at the top end. And people try to pretend that the difference is small. It's not. It's massive. This is why /9s are used on Dover services all the time.
    Anyway, thanks for timing BRELS! Now I don't have to bother with them as much thanks to you!

      The thing is i wasnt intending for it to be an accurate reoresentation of acceleration. Rather i was beiing opportunist and taking a rare service out of sevenoaks. They were terminating at sevenoaks and going back fast. The climb after dunton green is steep so it makes it seem like they are alot slower than they would be on flatter ground. 375s struggle to get to 80mph after dunton green although the BRELS were going downhill mostly when I recorded them out of sevenoaks. Even after Orpington the downhill is only slight. But ges, METCAMS are vastly superior

      @@bb-3653 I wasn't talking about Dunton Green or any of that shit chill🤣🤣
      I was just saying, from Orpington to Petts Wood, the fastest acceleration in the video, the train took 1:46 to hit 69mph which is much slower than a 465/9 at 1:23 to 69. Not even on full power, now imagine what it could do if the driver gave it full whack.
      Likewise, a single 375/6/7/8 is 1:33 to 69mph.
      BRELS aren't just slower than Met-Cams by a huge margin, they are also slower than a single 4 car 375 on a flat track, albeit by a smaller margin.

      I think the power rating is definitely different to metro cammels too. Alstom probably gave met cams different power specs to a mild degree.

      @@bb-3653 No, they have the same amount of horsepower.

      @@Solomon_C I was mentioning dunton green because it gave them an illusion of better acceleration. Then the uphill made them seem way worse. But yes i agree ,BRELs clearly had terrible case study before being created. And BREL wanted to force met cams to have brush equipment likely with the same power specifications . Met cam apparently rejected it hard. And wanted alstom equipment. Low and behold it worked out better. Perhaps if brush traction was asked to give the BRELs "x" amount of power and "y" gear ratio . It would be better. Or perhaps alstom was just more efficient? No idea. This isn't to say BRUSH traction is inherently bad. Just likely the UKs shitty requirements for power specifications and gear ratio thats the issue. They probably thought under gearing them and low power would work. Yeah perhaps if it had more power it could work. But clearly that didn't work well. And you know its to do with a power limitations because initially even with hitachi equipment ,there's a power limiter at play within the rest of the system somewhere. Meaning it has a cut off point for how much power is likely allocates to the wheels/motors.

    Is this the Tunbridge Wells peak service?

      @bb-3653 Před 9 měsíci

      (This is the owner of the video on my recreational account) Yeah I think it was a shortened service that stopped at sevenoaks instead of running to Tunbridge Wells as it Was Sunday and likely had no more services going to and from. Electrostars were all probably in stable sidings. It was basically a shuttle service . Stopping at only 3 or 4 stops .
