This is so great... The way he explained the reasoning behind the body of work included in 'City of Shadows' one can see that it is really a long process ... And its connection with Shostakovic's musical piece was sublime... what a great artist. Thanks for making this.

    2 STANDING OVATIONS!!
ALEXEY'S ability to pull the emotion from his heart then thru the eye of his lens, & turn it into an emotional photo is ABSOLUTELY MAGICAL! In today's world of instant gratification this is a photographer who has an incredible amount of patience. Not only in creating his shots but also in the darkroom. I applaud him profusely for the countless hours he has spent in creating beautiful works of art!
TED you have brought us a young old school photographer, you rise to the occasion repeatedly! The combination of a Russian photographer & Russian composer further brought me into Alexey's work, I felt like I was walking on those streets. The transition from scene to scene was flawless. The voices were crisp & clear with just enough music. This is by far one of my favorite ARTIST SERIES videos you have compiled because I feel you really captured the soul of the artist.
Thank you to you and your team for all your hard work & the time you put into these videos.

Thank you to all those that contributed and thank you Ted. This is truly a gift that should not be taken for granted. As a passionate photographer "inspiration" is truly a blessing and seeing and hearing another artists' process, especially as genuine and moving as Alexey Titarenko is a rare treat.

Ted, thank you so much for film about Alexey and his outstanding work. One of moments ,when you understand how small and amazing the world is. I was lucky to get to know about analogue process and print photographs in darkroom Alexey used to work during some time, in St.Petersburg.It was at one of the student campus, place had a good spirit- we worked with friends and were meeting another students, interested in analogue photography. Recall how we were discussing his works and wondering where Titarenko is now and what he is focused on. Once we found some test prints, later on my friend had chance to meet Alexey during one of photographer's short visit back in St.Pete. City still is both poetic and really darkside at same time. Some years later, I met my another friend's friend ,who moved to Germany, she turned out to take classes of photography in same group with Alexey. World sometimes is size of match box.

Quality Images, great soundtracks, and above all an intimate introspection with the artist, Alexey Titarenko.
I am very fond of his work and I find it interesting that he keeps pushing himself towards new avenues. Too many photographers find a style and stick with it, taking no risk and thus fleeing new ventures.
I like how his musicality intervenes with his visual concept. A creative mind!
It was quite appropriate to see him in the darkroom working on prints. He chooses the hard way but gets amazing results.
Score 10 on 10. Nice going Ted!
The Artist series has begun and it’s above my expectation.

Ted this series was such a great way of exploring photography rather than the gear. I loved your photography book series. You introduced me to fan ho and Titarenko. It wasn’t about the gear but the content.
I fully understand these videos take a lot of man hours and it is only you. This is what made you stand out from the rest of the gear driven channels. It is one of the reasons why I started following you. Sadly these kind of videos are no longer being done and gear videos are more the landscape of your channel.
I hope you have plans of revamping or reintroducing these kind of series.
