Hello, in today's episode we are replacing the ugly factory A6 grill with a replica S6 style grill that was pretty cheap in comparison to the real one.
Due to this, I ran into a few issues that needed to be resolved:
1. This grill was NOT a direct fit. I had to cut and modify the bumper for a correct fitment.
2. The hardware provided is very very cheap. The clips that mount the emblem on looked awful, so I went without. Careful not to strip the screws!
3. Suggest that you paint the bumper support as well as it is silver and will show through this grill and be very ugly.
After fixing all of those issues, I would say the install went very well and still looks 100x better.

I did this mod to my C6. After a while I put the badge back on it looks so much better with the chrome and honeycomb
I was going to put the logo on, I even ordered a all black logo from Ebay. But I really dislike the mounting hardware that came with this grill. Looks so cheap and awful in m opinion. I am still badgeless. About to tint the windows next though and then de-chrome everything.

Somehow it is tremendously more complicated to change the front grille than I thought.
Yeah, Audi always makes it difficult. Defintely not the easiest bumper to take off.

If I got front crash sensors, seems it wont fit well? Or code the code the computer as non-equipper and cut them off?
Can likely just relocate them or cut the grill to fit
The reason it didn't fit perfect is because that grill you got is meant for the facelift 08-10, the 04-07 is slightly different 🙂

Ive got a 2008 audi A6 sendan ive been thinking about changing the headlamps plus grill can i put modern headlights like for the 2016 model
Not sure if the headlights will fit from the newer models, they are a little different after the face lift in 2011. The grill was a good starting point for me.

Have you considered a different front bar ?
I’ve exactly the same and find it’s not aggressive enough ( for me )
So I’m also considering either a front lip or the s Line front bar or both ..
Then slightly lowering it .
I’d also have a custom license plate holder made to fit at the bottom center of the bar to keep that clean look .😎
I painted the front bar, actually powder coated it black because the silver was too ugly. I'm not sure there is an option to change out the front bar. If there is, let me know.
I plan to lower mine with lowering springs once everything is fixed, just a very slight drop. Once its back together, its getting window tint asap lol.

good job, I like it, but this model is not as aggressive as the facelift model, and you added this very sporty looking grill , I think it needs a bumper lip to neutralize the overall aggressiveness and probably needs some eyelids 🤔🤔🤔
side note: each to their own but I like it with the emblem better.🙄🙄🙄😂

I also agree on the emblem, however, the mounting hardware for the emblem looked so awful I just couldn't do it. Guess thats what comes with a cheap grill

I keep finding grills that say "2004-2011" even though they are different generations. Will a C6 grill fit the C6.5 generation? I have a 2011.
It will fit. Might have to do the same I did in the video for a good fit

Good question! This video makes it look easier than it is, so keep that in mind. Plus needing all the right tools. Taking the bumper off and reinstalling it can be a challenge as well.
However, with the right tools, and some patience, you can definitely do it yourself. This was my first time ever doing it, I learn alot each time. The journey is the best part🤟🏼

I don't have a video on it, but it's different than the CVT TCM for sure. Dealing with a similar problem and might have to replace the shifting solenoids in the trans myself. Are you getting an error code?

Sounds like a control module them. I would double check that there is no recalls on your VIN number too. Audi had a bunch of transmission recalls in the early years
@@Mechani_Coleyea but mine is a 2007 no recalls I just had my ECU sent it with a donor ECU to get cloned and now I just need to get the TCM fixed

Right now I have a 4.2 that is "forgetting" to shift sometimes, but no error codes or nothing. Have done flush and new filter, still same. So maybe shift solenoids are next for me🤔

Yes, it should fit however you will need to make minor adjustments to the bumper support for it to fit properly. The car used in this video is a '07 Audi A6, the only difference is the engine and interior.
If not, Amazon does pretty easy returns.

@@Mechani_Cole Another question, I have a 2007 car. And this product in the description is described for audi a6 from 2008 to 2011. Is this a mistake in the description of the product itself or does it really fit only models from 2008-2011? I don't see the difference, the bumpers are the same from 2006 to 2008!
It will fit the 06-07 but will need a small modification like in the video. Car in the video is a 07 as well. It's a direct fit for 08-11 and some small adjustments need to be made for 05-07

It comes with a plastic piece to attach the logo if you like. It comes with the grill and attaches pretty easy🤙🏼

The hardware to attach the Audi logo looks very cheap and I don't approve😅 I wish I could have kept the logo, but it bothered my too much how it looked. Might de-badge the back of the car as well and have no Audi logo anywhere🤷🏼♂️

Not at all. Grill was cracked and old. Spray paint will look terrible on plastic in the sun. Plus this grill design is much better, factory looks terrible. But we all have our own opinions 🤟🏼
