- The mental aspect of a thru hike can be just as, or even more, challenging as the physical side. I've seen plenty of people who started in great shape, banging out high miles, only to get off trail before the end of North Carolina because they were not equipped to overcome mental hurdles.
In this episode I'll talk about 5 common factors that affect your outlook on the AT and thru hiking. By no means are these the only ones but they are the most common from what I have seen.

Sunday, March 10th: Thank-you for sharing. Very interesting. Worth considering. Good luck! Happy Trails! Ross08
Some great tips here: thank you very much. 😊
Truth is, you can research all you want before you go, you won't get the realization till you get there. Even the Approach Trail (meet and greet trail) will make some reconsider.
Mental game for the win! Love this topic.
This was good stuff!! 🦑
Glad you liked it.
Sleep is so important!! And calories.
Absolutely. Trying to get past 10 miles on a bad night's rest is a struggle. Hitting the wall with zero calories in the tank or just eating junk every day makes life suck. I learned a lot about my body and its performance based on my type of food intake. Thanks for watching.
Hi Cottage. Hope you are doing well. Phoenix
Hi there. Things are going great. I hope you are doing well, also.
Lovely episode bud, great topic 👏👏
Thanks. I don't think it gets enough attention.
That straw looks really aggravating.
I'm trying out a new pack and the water bottle sleeve rides a bit high.
