I tried replacing the driver's side headlight bulb on my 1980 Sierra a few months ago, took out the spare battery plate bolts but soon after gave up and took my truck to my local GMC dealer. Cost me about $170 in labor plus the bulb. I took the truck in for its' yearly state inspection and emissions a few days ago and it passed so the headlight must have been o.k. I see many cars driving around with only one headlight and will usually flash my headlights to let them know about their problem. Then yesterday I happened to see that my passenger bulb had gone South. I was considering taking my truck back to the dealer, watched several videos which explained exactly how easy it is. I took me more time to find the tools that I needed than it did to actually get the bulb out and install the new one. Your video was the best one and it gave me the confidence to save a few $ and do it on my own.

The driver side is a beast. I took out the plate and tried to take out the reservoir, but ended up just cursing a lot and bending the reservoir neck.

Good video , it amazes me how easy it used to be to replace a lightbulb, but anyways on the driver's side just unscrew the bolt holding the washer fluid get a bungy cord and pull it towards the top of the hood to keep it out of your way , plus you might have to remove a battery bracket which on mine is not being used 2011 GMC Sierra. Good job 👌

I wish I had something for the driver's side. The filler neck on the wiper reservoir is always in the way. You have to completely remove the backup battery spot and then the reservoir. Mine also has a brace right behind the light that the passenger side doesn't have. If you figure something out that's easier, well done!
