  • Have you ever tried cooking meat in your Instant Pot from frozen? It's definitely a thing. They say it's safe, because the Instant Pot heats up and thaws the meat so quickly. I usually add about 5-10 minutes per pound of meat that I cook to the normal cooking times. It works out great and saves me so much time!

    Sarah I just want to thank you for giving me the courage to use my Instant Pot!! I have had it for a month and I was terrified of it! I have wanted one for so long and once I got it I had no idea what to do with it! I have read several recipes but I was not motivated at all and still very nervous! I watched a couple videos and then found this one!!! You made it look easy and gave me the confidence to try it out!! So THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! My roast is currently cooking and it smells delicious!!!!

    great tips Sarah! i was so happy to find I could use my Instant Pot for cooking frozen meat. I popped in some frozen chicken breasts yesterday before we went to church, with plenty of water to create a broth. I then used the cooked chicken and broth to make a quick chicken curry for our Sunday dinner when we got home. So nice for those days when I forget to plan ahead!

      That's great! Sounds so yummy. We usually end up doing BBQ pulled chicken when I'm in a big pinch before church. I'm very guilty of not planning ahead a lot.

      I hope so too! My first experience with my IP was making green rice by accident. I cooked the broccoli and rice together and the broccoli just stirred right in after it was way too overcooked.

    I’m not sure This hasn’t already been talked about however my husband refuses to eat white meat so I found out that if I put kitchen bouquet before I cook it and if your cooking from frozen then I would apply it after however he has never figured it out lol kitchen bouquet can be found in your grocery store and it kind a looks like a liquid bottle of shoe polish but trust me it works wonders for picky eaters.i

    Definitely need to brown that chicken. Either a minute or 2 under the broiler or a minute or 2 with a generously buttered skillet.

    Great video! Now I am a new subscriber. We eat lamb once a week because my husband loves it so much . My dilemma is that I am new to the instapot..I often use frozen meat. so I need a recipe for a roast that takes 2 1/2 hours ( I want it to cook during church) Do you have one ?

    • @SarahRobinsonSidetrackedSarah
      @SarahRobinsonSidetrackedSarah  Před 3 lety

      Hi Linda. Welcome! I usually cook a roast in the Instant Pot for 20 minutes per pound and then let it natural release the pressure. If I'm at church, I just let it stay warm in the Instant Pot until we get home. It works great. I've never cooked lamb in the Instant Pot, but I'm assuming it would work the same way. You could double check the cooking times.

    If I'm cooking frozen pork roast or large shoulder is the result better in slow cooker(is this a thing too?) or instant pot?

    • @SarahRobinsonSidetrackedSarah
      @SarahRobinsonSidetrackedSarah  Před 2 lety +1

      I prefer it in my slow cooker more. If you do it in the IP, do it longer than you think you should so that it's not tough. :).
