Viola Davis wasn't even nominated in Emmys for this. This is absolutely ridiculous, I can't even consider how someone can watch that performance and NOT be jaw dropped by this woman's acting...
Have been looking for this comment here. I.CAN.NOT.BELIEVE.IT.
She won an Emmy during the first season
She was just WOW
I'm still pissed
I cried my eyes out so hard during this scene, and NEVER have I cried for any other tv show, nor have I ever felt so touched by something like this
Frank's death was a sacrifice, he sacrificed himself by killing the governor so everyone can live without fear of retaliation from the governor.
He was the hero of the finale.
Edit: came back here after watching the series for the umpteenth time and discovered so many likes, didn’t know this comment blew up, thanks guys.

Out of all the main characters, Annalise loved Bonnie the most. That was hard for me to watch.

No one talks about the way Connor and Oliver look at Christopher. It's such a beautiful scene.
I won't go into details, but it's the same look I've been getting from my aunts and uncles my whole life, and I never understood why it would make em react that way. This scene made me finally understand the reactions I've been getting since I was a kid. Brilliant.

Wow I've never thought of that. Thank you for pointing that out. Now let me cry for the 100th time thinking of this newly discovered meaningful scene. 😢😢😢😢
I can’t tell what makes me more sad, this final scene or the fact this show didn’t get the attention it deserves.
I think it has, but considering how many series are made every single week of the year it's difficult to be known or appreciate by everyone.
It would be more popular if I was released recently IMO. I think this because I just started watching the show because I was too young to watch it when it came out
I was following the show but dropped it around the part where Wes and Laurel was discovering something and they was getting closer.
Its was international they aired the show in Arabic Channel and thanks to that I rewatched again now in Europe
the show ruined itself after they killed wes
This ending is so well done, the parallel between Christopher and Wes on their first day riding the bike, Christopher saying the same lines as Annalise, using the same actor of Wes for older Christopher, just so well done
The actor that plays Wes and Christopher did such a good job with the accent, really shows he grew up speaking Spanish, I loved that detail!
Executed it perfectly!
This took the show full circle from one generation to he next. Could not have been a better ending.
Totally agree! It gave such a special touch ! I cried when Christopher says the same line as Annalise, as he is now the Professor! Great ending of a great show.

It was so heartbreaking, not only were Frank and Bonnie the most loyal and ones who stood by Annalise the longest, to me, they were like the children that Annalise never got to raise. However, it looks like she got to help raise her godson, Christopher Castillo and teach him to become law professor at Middleton law like her. She really did have a bittersweet, yet a long and happy life, and she got to pass on in peace. I hope she’s at peace with Wes, Frank, Bonnie and her mother.
@fire12 no that was Eve, an Annalise's ex
Queen K. Yes that scene as a man almost brought me to tears and to know it was franks gun to kill her allegedly. It’s hard to know frank couldn’t beat those last demons but even to the end he tried to be the hero and kill the governor and for Bonnie to die in the same scene just hits differently
Same girl
I now understand why Christopher referred to Annalise as his “mentor”, it proves that Annalise lived a long life and since she’s close to Laurel and Christopher (Wes was like a son which means Christopher is like a grandchild to her) she definitely was there to teach Christopher about Law. (The fact she looked young and not old when Christopher was thinking about her in his classroom proves he met her loooong before her death). What a way to end the show. It’s incredibly beautiful.
YOU SAID EVERYTHING AND I M SO GRATEFUL YOU DID 😢😭😭😭

And apart from this... just look at the smile they gave to each other when Christopher was thinking about her and saw her sitting in that classroom... beautiful ❤

So when Christopher said “as my mentor like to call it” that’s mean Annalise and Laurel still saw and been together after the trial ? That’s why he seems like he loves her ? OMG I LUV IT!!!!

I never expected this series to be this great. The final scene of Annalise sitting in the classroom looking proud of Christoper felt real and it was the deepest thing I’ve ever seen in a show. She is the best and this show is underrated
That partial scene hits hard. What I took from it was Annaliese fought hard to protect everyone despite her flaws above all she wanted Wes to be successful and since he died she ensured that his son became successful.
No the show is not underrated
Annalise was hands down one of the best characters TV history! How Viola Davis didn’t even get an Emmy for this is criminal.
Viola won for the first season but it's crazy that she just has 1 Emmy for this show.
Who else think they aged Michaela, Oliver, Connor and especially Laurel tooooo much. They made them and Eve look the same age.
They should look in their 50s not 80s
Maybe they aged cuz they had a lot of stress 😬
Stress dose that
Am I the only one that thinks none of them look as old as Eve...? They just have some grey in their hair - with Laurel having a lot more than the others. They have a lot less wrinkles than Eve does.

The facts that all her students whome she protected and cared the most betrayed her (except Laurel) makes me so angry and sad at the same time. She always did what is right for them and yet they betrayed her. Poor Annalise.
I think Laurel was the only one who understood the #Wesalise rekationship tbh
Actually it was because of connor and laurel annalise won. Connor testifying against her would be sure lose. But he chose to live for what he had done, that too, a crime he didn't committed but simply helped cover it up. Wes the real killer, died first thing during the season, Asher killed Sinclair, dies later in the show for his own fault and cowardness, Michaela looking out only for herself ends up alone, connor and oliver having a good marriage, Laurel too. They all got what they deserved.
@@tsdpixel5860 Wes actually didn’t get what he deserved. Although he’s the one who killed Sam we can’t pretend he didn’t do it in defense of Rebecca who Sam was in the process of killing. Famke Jensen is an incredibly underrated actress.
I just finished the show. Had to take 10 minutes to process everything that went on and recollect myself after using up an entire box of tissues. Frank and Bonnie’s death are at the center here. Their deaths move me even more than AK’s death. Why? Because of their stories, their childhoods, their upbringings, all their hard work to come out of and leave behind the terrible life they had before meeting AK. They just had to die together. So sad.
I mean they had a sad devastating ending but it seems this is how it should be for the show cause the show was ending and not all stories end beautiful, Annalise didn’t ever kill anybody and out of all the adults she was the one to live a long happy life ending by age after protecting everyone for years. I’ve rewatched this series a lot and i’m almost at the last season and I had to jump to this part cause idk if I’m ready to watching the ending again like I haven’t seen every episode 5 times especially the ending 😅

The fact that Christopher didn't know who Connor and Oliver were means Laurel and Annalise didn't tell him about all the bad and criminal things they went through. He kept his innocence while still following in Annalise footsteps and I know that made her super proud!
Jay dot. It also shows none of the K5 kept in contact.
Ouxs Moros you mean k3+ Oliver 😪
It breaks my heart that they've all gone so far from each other after everything, especially Michaela. But the fact that Christopher asks Laurel if she'll speak at the funeral, and also seems to have been close to Annalise must mean that Laurel and Annalise stayed close. I think even though Laurel was deeply flawed, she was the best of them in the end. She was the one who seemed to recognise how much Annalise, Bonnie and Frank had done for them, and she had the most to lose by breaking the deal because of Christopher but she decided to tell the truth anyway.
I want to believe that at some point, after prison, Connor went to visit Annalise and asked for her forgiveness.

This was the most fitting and beautiful eulogy for Annalise. The actress who plays Eve deserves an award for her emotional delivery. I was happy to see after all the trauma Annalise endured throughout her life her final years were peaceful and full of love. Annalise was the sun and I will truly miss watching Viola Davis in the role of a lifetime. We need to see more women of color in leading roles with diverse casts such as this one. This is one of the best shows I have ever seen.
as bittersweet it was, i think that ending was necessary. the finale gave us a flash forward so that means they get to live their life even after the tragic events. Michaela was left out of the group, which is really really sad btw, but i think it was also necessary for her character because she gets to be the best lawyer she always dreamed of. even if it means being alone. laurel gets to stay with her son away from all the tragedy. which also meant that she didn't get to stay in touch with oli and connor. but it was also necessary for her bc it made her the most sincere of them all, staying away from everything and choosing to be with Christopher. Connor did his time, and that was what he wanted since the beginning. to pay to what he's done. and now he's happy with oliver. frank and bonnie were my greatest sorrow in the finale. they deserve was much better but it was necessary for their characters. bonnie would never have survived Frank's death so they had to go together. and annalise, she gets to live the peaceful life she always deserved. she's the one who's got no blood in her hands and she gets to live her life until the very end.

I agree with most it was a bittersweet ending with a big twist, but there is a deeper meaning to it. It was the karma reflected back at everyone. Everyone got what they deserved. Bonnie and Frank were seriously messed up. While not totally evil, they had their fair share of horrible actions during the series either by getting everyone in trouble at times or murder itself. They found peace and they did it together. They would not keep getting tortured nor they would torture others since that was the whole story with those two. Laurel came clean and was the most sincere of them all in the end and got to live a happy life with her son. Asher killed Sinclair, they all covered for him and, in the end, he tried to sell them out so he also got what he deserved. Connor did his time and then got to live on with his life. Michaela achieved her ambitions at the cost of living a lonely and miserable life and Nate showed in the last minute true personal growth as a human even though he also did some bad stuff which he paid for during the series. And finally, Annalise, who murdered NOONE and was always looking out for everyone to cover for all the stupid things everyone else did , cleared her name and got to live a happy life. It came full circle and I think the deeper meaning here is that no matter how corrupt a justice system might be, the universe serves its own rightful justice for everyone in the end.
Yes!!! Exactly what I was thinking as well.
That's how life works, it all run in full circle until it caught on you, and if you do see this reflection all the actions and consequences of your past will reveal itself what it has become of you. Your own epiphany, story of your life.
This is such a good explanation.
This is beautiful and so well put
Well said. The only thing I hope to see is what happens to Gabriel in the future, other than that it was perfect.
Not to be dramatic but this is one of the best finales I've ever watched. As much as it broke me, having Bonnie and Frank die seconds apart was perfect since they're literally Bonnie&Clyde. I almost collapsed when Laurel and Wes' son came in as the professor and wrote "how to get away with murder" on the blackboard. The way the show ended was exactly how it begun it was perfectly done not to be dramatic lol. Oh and Annalise is and will always be A BAD BITCH!!!!!
I agree for a long time I didn't see ending this good! Amazing!
I too agree with you. It was something true lily poetic. Balled my eyes out.
I couldn't agree more 😉
You should see Six Feet Under ending....much better and its impossible not get emotional. But watch the 5 seasons first. And you´ll understand what im saying...
It's the best...but I was so disappointed when I watched the SCANDAL finale since they are both made by shonda rhimes
Mikaela's character development did a full 180 degrees by using her privilege to get out of doing jail time. She was always proud of being resilient and independent but the moment the walls started closing in on her she turns to her rich father. What's even worse is that she ends up achieving her goals in the end.
Mikaela did not deserve that ending.
But she lost them essentially her family. Also those 2 kids might not be her’s rather a prop for the ceremony.
That’s why she got a fake happy ending. I saw it as her achieving her goals without actually feeling achieved, with that deep part of her that knows she didn’t earn it. And my head canon is that those kids were adopted and they grew up hating her
@@darthmomo6548 im pissed that Conor got time, Wes died, frank died, Bonnie died, analyse died, at least laurel got away and that's good, but pretty much all my favorites died or went to jail. But no, Michaela gets off Scott free.
She was always the selfish one tho she would have made that deal on her own. But you are right her rich dad story was unnecessary.
She deserved it
One of the things that Annalise cherished the most was her Criminal Law 100’s class and she also teaches so that at least one of her students continue with her revolutionary ideas instead of being lawyers just for the money. Because of that, I couldn’t hold my tears when that student resulted in none-less than Christopher, Wes’ son who she loved as her own. Annalise’s soul watched him with joy and proud of her grandson, knowing that her main objective in life has been achieved so that she could move on to heaven in peace.
Literally finished the show about 15 minutes ago and I'm back here
Me tooo hahaha
Me too!!!
I join the squad! ✌🏽
Me too
me too i finished literally 2 minutes ago...
“I'm professor Christopher Castillo. This is Criminal Law 100 or as my mentor like to call it, HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER”. THE END.
Thank you, you made me cry..😑😒😭😭😭😭
@@enzomartinez8083 I'm sobbing every time I watch this 😥
why...law 100 , sorry dont catch it , lol
Perfect
@@solluna4953 100s are thought for freshmens and so on
A masterclass of an ending. For me it is a reminder of the importance of authenticity. To live a full life, one needs to live an authentic life. One needs to externalise their inner-selves in the world by unapologetically standing up for what is important to them. One also must surrender to the rawest of human emotions; love. This should not be suppressed but embraced. Because in the midst of the complicated, confusing and depressive world, love is the antidote that makes life livable.
Ahhh baby Christopher having known A.K is seriously the most precious thing! she loved Wes like her own and having lost her actual family Bonnie and Frank, I'm so glad Laurel let her be part of his life 😭. Connor being at her funeral too, he always tested her but when she was working out of that little hotel he is the one that came and helped her. When Wes shot her and the rest were running he was the one that tried to put pressure on the wound and didn't want to leave. And in the end he also wanted to do the right thing, if it wasn't for Mikayla and Oliver (he really shocked me), I think he would have caved and told the truth. I was mostly proud of Laurel, she was the only one that had good reason to want to save herself but ended up telling the truth even if it meant her son didn't have a parent. Also satisfying that Frank got revenge on that governor, she would never have paid otherwise, I hope he is also the one that arranged the hit on Jorge. Him and Bonnie dying together was poetic, they started the whole mess and it ended with them and after everything they had been through they didn't have to survive each other. I always thought Analise would end up with Nate but I'm so glad it was Teegan! I would watch a spinoff of the events between the court shooting and AKs funeral just to see her, Tegan, Christopher and Laurel be family.
Viola deserves another Emmy for the scene where Bonnie & Frank dies, it’s just so captivating and emotional. She acted her ass off.
Wendy Shipp agreed I was in tears
Omg! That and an Emmy for the scene where she does her closing address to the jury! It was so powerful and moving! 😰
That’s EXACTLY what I said👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
She was a slave to white ppl.
Sam Nelson - stfu bitch
It broke my heart when the two people who have always been there for Annalise died in her arms 😭 This show has left a place in my heart and up to the first and to the last episode, it never failed to make my heart pound so mf fast. LONG LIVE ANNA MAE HARKNESS
It was truly a magnificent ending
It really did😭😭😭
It's the moment where I completely broke down 😭😭😭😭 Viola Davis is just amazing. Absolutely amazing.
@@katarinababic9197 😢
Andrea Ruiz who was the one who spoke at her funeral? I thought that was Bonnie
I love how everyone is old AF but still have full heads of long hair...
😂😂😂😂
but connor's clearly hella balding lmao
CLEARLY YOU ARE MISSING THE POINT, WHO CARES ABOUT THE HAIR
I can't tell you how many times I watched this finale, right when the song picks up when Annalise is at her mother funeral, is always where I choke up its so emotional for me
I started balling when Annalise was trying to save Bonnie.
I know...me too..😭😭😭
Same here. Fudge!
Why did she have to die
Me too! 😭😭😭
That hurt so bad I couldn’t get over it 😭
Annalise lost her Son, Husband, Wes, Frank, Bonnie, her Mom, then Tegan. Makes me realize I need to appreciate everyone in my life. Because you never know when they will be gone.
Wait tegan didn’t die (did she?)
Where did it show that Tegan died?
Eisa Al Marzouqi at the end with Annalise holding her hand, then Tegan’s hand gone.
D WADE IS THE GOAT yea. At the end, It shows Annalise holding her hand. Then Tegan’s hand vanishing.
Malik Garner ok I see it
I realized this show is the definition of "I did some dumb stuff in college."
If that doesn't sum it up, i don't know what will.
"What feels like hell now is a gift later." I think this quote just described my life. Beautiful and powerful scene!
VIOLA DAVIS CAN FREAKING ACT, HANDS DOWN THE BEST ACTRESS. man!!! what an ending!!!!!!
I agree she is the best
Annalise smiling at Christopher at the end makes me feel some type of way. Like even though she’s fictional she’s smiling at us because we saw it all as well.
I love what you write
There's something about this show! Even though it's fictional, the emotions are SO REAL. They created such a realistic world. I will replay this show for the rest of my life goodness.
I felt like the whole cast was part of my family I would miss them so much. What an incredible 6 years thank you.
Don’t make me cry harder than I already do
Ohk, let's take a moment to appreciate the brilliant team of writers, who came up with this incredible master piece... And kudos to viola Davis fr bringing up Annealse keating so real, tht every prsn who watched the show and reached till the very last scene of it cried.... Her acting skills left everyone speechless..... Then of course we have rest of the cast, who connected to so many people out there bcs of the stories they were conveying...... Machela prett, connor walsh, Oliver Hampton, tegan prize, bonnie winterbottoms, frank delfino, wes gibbins, laureal Castillo, Christopher castillo, asher millstone, gabriel maddix, ophelia, nate lahey, , eve routhlo, sam keating, .. The world need more like these, to open wide range of vision.....and once again, can't thank enough to viola Davis who did a remarkable job...... Who ever is reading this comment, and just in case u haven't watched the show, u really must!...... Thank u🥺🖤
I only just finished watching all six seasons and omg this episode legit made me cry. The scene when Bonnie dies and Annalise holds her really made me scream at the screen. How it didn't get an award is shocking
I will NEVER get over Coliver’s faces when they saw Christopher
Selena Ramsawak they were just in awe of how coincidental he looks like his father
RAYquaza 💚🐉 I know...
JUDE, lol. Then like who helped you escaped and why do you like so young? Gimme number of your plastic surgeon.
Fuck those rats
same and to know they stayed together and connor was able to love and they were so happy
In my mind, Annalise and Laurel kept in contact. After all Annalise saved her child and loved him, and Laurel was literally the only one of the K5 to stand for her. I bet Lauren sent her pictures of Chris and short stories.
no christopher called annalise his mentor, meaning that they had a deeper relationship than that
Katherine Petrova yes I like to believe that she carried on teaching and he studied under her
It was actually this way. She was his mentor
Well, Annalise is the godmother of Christopher so it’s natural for Laurel to send pictures and keep contact with Annalise, after all Laurel basically disowned her family after what they did to her and Wes. Since she wanted Christopher to have something similar to a normal family so she kept Annalise in her life.
Also Annalise promised to Laurel that she would not have to go to jail if Annalise won. So I think they stayed in contact and Annalise also finally had like a child to care for
I mean, Eve’s voice 🥺♥️ no one else could do this for Annalise than Eve.
i will NEVER forget this show ever. one of the greatest if not THE greatest thing to ever be created & im blessed to have cried my way through & oh when Christopher said his name i cried heavy. “ im professor Christopher Castillo, this is criminal law or as my mentor like to call it How To Get Away With Murder.”🥺🥺
seeing Wes again play as Christopher again is deep & i CRIED. from Christopher standing next to Laurel to Christoper rode in the same way on the bike like Wes, with Wes’s little smile & everything. the bittersweet sadness in the 3 minutes of the season is something i’ll never forget.
For someone who watched this from the beginning, watching this is painful as fck its hurts
Seeing Viola and Alfred smile at each other at the end I was a mess😭💔
Sarahxo omg yes I did too😭😭
I agree 💔😭
Sooooo hard to watch. I’m praying we get a spin off. Idc how they do it but I’m not ready for the show to be over.
Like Seriously
Can we talk about the scene when Bonnie died in Annalise’s arm? I cried ugly watching that! #HTGWWMFinale
I know right. I was such a mess.
It was so intense, the acting, the emotions. Probably the saddest moment of the whole series.
Seseblue Seseblue me and you both lol!! I was sobbing and saying no no no no no!
Cynthia L gurllllll the intensity was crazy.! Its definitely a TV moment.
Anjun true!!!!!!
When the sun shines on you, you’re a fool to turn away.
Just beautiful
Viola should have won so many Emmy’s / Oscar’s already
Throughout every season i’m just thinking “How is this show so good”😭😭😭
Ikr
John it doesn’t take a smart person to understand lol I solved all the murders , figured out who the informate was and who died at the season finale . I didn’t solve Lila’s murder though. It was to unpredictable
Honestlyyy😭😭😭😭 everytime Peter Nowalks name appeared at the start id just go “HOW CAN U MAKE SOMETHING THIS GOOD?!”😂😂
@@FMKAnimation HAHAHA same. Like this man deserves tons of awards
FRRRR THOO 😭😭
I want to cry of how much I'm pleased with the ending.
Annalise found the peace she deserved
Connor served his time to clean himself of the guilt
Laurel was able to live a normal life by her son
Macheala achieved her ambitions ( but learned the life lesson that living a life of selfishness will only lead to loneliness)
Bonnie and Frank stayed together to the end ( neither of them could have survived without the other)
Nate learned to forgive Annalise
Mind to explain what exactly happened to Michaela? I didn't quite catch it
@@alamsyahnoorkalamadani2167 she made a deal with the FBI where she doesn't serve any time in prison if shes willing to lie at the stand to incriminate Annelise. Not only she betrays Annelise but she does this behind everybody's backs to benefit herself. In the end of it all, Annelise is proven not guilty and Machaela is allowed to go free but everyone realises the selfish liar she is and they all avoid contacting her. Well said! not to mention Nate fulfilled the title of the show haha
January 16th 2024. I started this show as a sophomore in college and just finished it after rediscovering it. I was not disappointed with the ending at all, perfect. I’ve spent the last 15 minutes crying and wanted to see everyone’s thoughts here in the comments. I I wish I had been apart of the community as it was airing
