ℹ️ About the episode:
We visited Michigan for the first time during SN1 to see our friends. Even though we have no family or roots there, each time we visit, it feels like home. Granted, we've only visited between June and August when the weather is beautiful and Michiganders are in "Summer mode". There are few places that truly feel like summer and #LakeLife in #Michigan is one of them! In this episode, we left Mears State Park and moved to Silver Lake State Park. We hit the Dunes in a rented CanAm and then make our way back to our friend's house for some Moochdocking and visited Grand Haven State Park again. Join us next week as we spend a few more days at Mackinac Island and drop the Flying Cloud Airstream off at Woodlands Airstream for service.
Blueberry Filling:
6 cups of blueberries
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
Dash of cinnamon
Dash of salt
Spoonful lemon juice
4 dabs of butter
Pie Crust:
3 cups of flour
1 1/4 cup of shortening (or butter)
1 egg well beaten
5 Tbsp cold water
1 Tbsp vinegar
Dash of salt
Instructions from Grandma:
Cut shortening into flour & salt. Combine egg, water and vinegar. Pour liquid into flour mix just till moistened and refrigerate for 30 min. Rub milk on top crust & sugar before cooking. Start at 400 degrees for 20 min. When the pie starts to brown, turn down to 350 degrees. Bubbling = done.

I grew up in Oklahoma and my mom brought us to Branson/silver dollar city when I was a kid. It was the first funnel cake I ever had.....great memories !!!!

I grew up in that part of Michigan.. used to work summers in Saugatuck.. my parents lived in Grand Haven for a long time. When I was kid I used to sand surf on the dunes. Lotsa fun!
We’re 74 now and silver lake we all loved. As my daughter would sing “and we’ll have fun fun fun until dad takes the 4 wheeler away” Michigan
Put a pool noodle on the awning support. It's a visual reminder and if you do forget, you don't scratch the truck.

Great video. I was just in almost all of those places in the last 1.5 weeks . We live in Spring Lake. About 1.5 blocks from the Bisackies Blueberries.See your hanging with the Coopers again. Our friend lives across the lake in the Blue house. We were at Grand Haven State Park last week. Went ot Big Star Lake to our cabin in Baldwin Thursday. Were going to do Silver Lake Friday with our Jeep but due to rain decided to take a road trip north to Beulah for the Day and hit a Distillery on the way back to Baldiwn. Sunday headed to Pentwater and Mears State Park to have lunch with my parents who are staying there. Thats the great thing about MI. Lots to do. May have to try the pie recipe.
Being raised here in Michigan, Silver Lake has been a playground since I was a kid. Glad you enjoyed your stay!!

Oh my I miss Pentwater Mears and Silver lake. Hubby was born and raised around there in Hart. Lived in MI til 2013. Now in OK. Ludington State Park, great place to rv and you have Lake Michigan beach.

My husband and I just came across your channel not too long ago as we were shopping for our 3rd Fifth-wheel. We have watched countless episodes. Just wanted to say “Thank You!” No seriously, Thank You!! There is not a lot to watch on the networks, so y’all provide great entertainment, you do what you do WELL!!! Plus continue to spur on our dream of getting back on the road! We took early retirement, downsized to the point of Freedom, enjoyed 2 years of full time RV life, now back to work for a season as we keep alive the dream of hitting the road again!

You guys have brought me out of my depression. My rig is not the only one that needs cleaning regularly on the inside and the clothes that need to be put away (not on the dinette).
Good info and a good plan for the day and convenient parking for the laundromat. I hate laundromats but they are necessary, at least in college i would read and get some studying done. Your conversation with the gent you met, he says " I like walking into his office" priceless, great encounter.

Just found the channel about 2 weeks ago and have been binging from the beginning. Today I almost broke my neck because I saw a white F250 Platinum pulling and Airstream on Highway 153 in Chattanooga TN. My wife was like what are you doing. I said trying to see if that is Mark and Tricia. I couldn’t tell but doubt it. Forgot today was Sunday.
That sounds terrible. Not us. Sad day for that RVer and why we do as much how to stuff as possible.

I have two blueberry bushes on either side of my dining room window and every spring I am in heaven as I get 2 cups of blueberries every day. Blueberries on the road would be priceless!
Charlie is so so SUPER cute 😍 and sweet!!!!! Love it when you go to Michigan because I camped in Traverse City with my brother, mom and twin nephews several years ago! Tent camping had NO rain that week and it was so memorable!! With your videos in Michigan especially with your friends keeps me wanting to go back with my husband and kids now!! But with our travel trailer.

I NEVER get drinking water (fresh water) from anywhere that is within normal RV water hose distance of a blank tank dump station because of EXACTLY what you've described. We only full timed for 4 months and saw all kinds of gross things, not to mention all kinds of not so obvious gross things with backflushing hoses, etc. We ONLY get fresh water from a source that is at least a hose length away from dump site (including individual sites). Which means we move often enough to get water in/out of parks and places....I'm just so grossed out by what you shared and what we've seen

We just love your show. Because of you, we are getting back into RVing. Have RV'd for 40 years but took a break because we moved into a resort community in Florida. Time to get back to the road. After your Aug. 30, 2020 episode, you ALMOST made us wish we still lived in (Gaylord) Michigan. Almost. LOL. You do an excellent job with your videos.. we can't wait for Sunday nights.

The wife and i are heading out for a Covid VACA in October and decided to rent a Travel Trailer to KNOW where we are staying. I have never set one up, but i have been following you and the fam since the flat tire way back years a go. I went back and found the tutorial you did on setting up your tailer and i have ordered a filter and a couple of things to make our vaca nicer. The wife asked if i was comfortable with how to set up the trailer and i said, "Mark showed me"lol travel on folks, i am two years from retirement and we plan on heading out for an extended trip around the country to see everything we ever wanted that we have not seen during my military career around the world...than you and Monday mornings are my favorite day....new videos day

My yellow lab Jack had no impulse control when it came to ducks. What's worse is he was fast on land and in the water and he'd sell me out in a second to get his toes wet. One day he hit the afterburners on some ducks strolling down the canal. Jumped in and tore down after them in the water like a jet ski. To this day I will never forget the look on the ducks looking back at him realizing he was gaining on them then start paddling faster. When Jack was about to FINALLY get one of them... They realized they could fly and took off. He SMELLED TERRIBLE after swimming in the canal. I had to give him 3 baths. I miss that dog.

What a fun video! I loved seeing you guys racing around the "dunes", I loved the tips about dumping stations and seeing Marc getting the hose when y'all lost it-I laugh each time because it is priceless, I loved the blueberry picking and pie baking, loved the piano playing and sing, and I adored Charlie chasing the ducks! Wow, you got a great day on the dunes. Traffic was so low!! Looks like the rental was nice. If someone is looking for Jeep tours there Parrot Cove was excellent and the tour guide was amazing. It a big part of the reason I am now a jeep owner, that and it tows great behind my RV!! Mud flaps look awesome. Love how they come off the side. Nice choice. Thanks for the pie recipe. That's how my mom made pies. So glad you are enjoying MI. Living here its kinda hard to RV out because there's so much here with a short drive!
I’ve been watching for a while and decided even though I rarely subscribe to anything, I have to support you guys. I RV’d for many years and had to give it up for several reasons. I miss it terribly and have been living vicariously by watching your videos. When things have settled down a little bit, or a little bit less crazy, I am determined to hit the road again. Love the mud flaps. I have had these on my 2018 Ram 3500 dully since new. I kind of made them a one off by adding the Cummins Heavy Duty badge to them. Yours would look great with the Ford Oval added to them on the back ones. Clean them with Alcohol and stick them on. A great conversation piece and will Looks great! Keep up the great Videos!

I enjoy the dunes, I mostly go to Glamis with my dirt bike and ride in high dunes in a group. Glamis is so cool with all the sandrails, rzr, cam-ams. Good job on the video 👍.

Great video. I have the Husky version of the mudflaps and love them. We have been down a few gravel roads with a painted nose cone on our travel trailer. Haven’t seen any rock chips, yet. I have the thought of getting some inexpensive rubber mudflaps the same width and extending the length 2-3 using the rubber mudflaps. Would require drilling into the plastic mudflaps but would offer a littles extra protection.
