It's so odd seeing old familiar faces in a different time period because you never know if the bad guys you recognize will be bad guys in the past or not. After all a little generational irony does wonder for a game's overall timeline.
@@umarsuprianto9233 fr; Ryoma was already busted the OG Ishin if you got certain skills unlocked (ex. Bare-handed parry led to temp invulnerability) so i’d suspect things would roll nearly the same way in this Kiwami iteration (imagine not making a playable Kiryu busted when by himself)
They also removed Izo's menacing, bloody red aura and gave him a purple one, which doesn't fit him as well as it fit Okita Souji. The damage numbers don't do much given the fact that we don't know how much health enemies have....and the healthbar system appears to have gone back to Yakuza 6's, which wad universally disliked. I'm worried.

I’ve played all the yakuza games and watched Gintama so seeing a lot of Yakuza characters having the same names as Gintama characters is very bizarre.. and awesome
Not to make it any less cool because gintama is my favorite. But a think a lot of the characters including the shinsengumi are named that way because they're based off of real historical members of the real life shinsengumi.
Yakuza is pretty much a modern day Gintama. Both take place in red light district based on Kabukicho, have a main character with a tragic past, mixes drama and comedy, and has the MC go around town helping people out
should've removed the superpowers, what were they thinking, this gameplay looks so unfun and it's not the player's fault the main deal of ishin was crafting and upgrading your different weapons and grinding for useful skills, now it's all gone cause you can just do a kamehameha
Damn cards! Why couldn't they keep it oldschool? It just becomes some kinda Dragonball or smth. And yeah, this UI and damage numbers are really annoying. Hope these things are not necessary for gameplay and you can turn it off

No it's a new game. I'm sure they added new stuff and more quests or story stuff in this to justify making a whole game outta this.

RGG is still using it for their other games. They said the reason why they're using a heavily utilized UE4 instead of their Dragon engine is because it wouldn't fit the combat of this game
Just pre-ordered and am going media blackout on this game untill February 23 can't wait for next entry from the legendary RGG studio and too think we will be getting Like A Dragon Gaiden in the same year unreal.
well " like a dragon " is the real name while yakuza was a localize name and they were not yakuza in this game so new newcomer will confuse if they buy a game named yakuza but didn't play as yakuza

it looks fun to me... like yagami can throw fireballs from his hands and ichiban can use a hell lot of magical moves this doesn't surprise me..

i'm super stoked to play this - the animations look a bit jank, though, and the combat UI is definitely more obtrusive than ever before
This is just an upscaled version of an old game, which might be why it gives off that expression. But at least its finally available in the west now.

If they had a parrying mechanic and better enemy lock on/shuffle it would be a more complete experience

imagine if they did a remake of dead souls like this. just the graphical enhancements the zombies would have would be worth it.
The difference in lighting tech between UE and Dragon Engine is really apparent. Also those fonts look crisp af.

Yup, the secret to summoning blackholes was prevalent amongst the samurai. Sadly the secret was lost centuries ago after the age of the samurai ended.

nah Dragon Engine with this style of game doesn't fit well. This is better if you've played Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami.

From reading the comments it looks like they made a mistake trying to rebrand "yakuza" as "like a dragon" in the west.
Its literally only a title change which to be fair can be confusing to some people but thats all it is and people manage to still get upset about it.
