I’ve discussed airbags before on our channel and the concept is very simple indeed; the rider wears a separate vest which contains the airbag, its mechanical and/or electronic parts and the cartridge containing the pressurised gas. When the system detects a collision or a fall it activates the cartridge and fills the bag with air - protecting important parts of the rider’s upper body. Some systems require a fixed tether to your bike, others work with subscriptions; but the Dainese D-Air Smart Jacket is completely electronic, completely yours and quite possibly even the best system currently available. The airbag is intended for street use, if you’re going to be riding on the track I would suggest taking a look at Dainese’s leather D-Air racing suits. You can activate the system by putting it on and connecting the magnetic button on the chest. The system features a multi colour LED interface and a vibramotor, the latter is ideal if you wear the system under your jacket - it lets you that the system is armed and it also indicates the battery status.
You can connect your phone to the system by using the D-air app, and with this app you can activate the shipping mode so you can safely transport the airbag. It’s possible to have your airbag replaced after deployment, the cost is €249,95 and the full system will be checked and prepared for use.
The airbag system will be armed as soon as it feels the vibration of your bike, this only takes a couple of seconds. If you’re riding one of those new-fangled electric bikes then this will not work as there will be no vibration. In the case of an electric bike the system will activate when you’re in motion at 10km/h or more. This does mean that if you’re at the lights and somebody were to hit you from behind that the airbag will not deploy on a stationary electric bike, so that’s something to keep in mind.

I've had one for 4 years, pros, comfy breathable waterproof, can be worn over clothes, no subscriptions. Down side, gubbins sit low around waste so can make exsiting jackets too small. Only way you can tell battery level is by plugging into a lap top ( this to me absolute major down side takes ages so much hassle ) small coverage and no back protector ( so if you forget to charge and you go for ride you have no back protector so i always put one on just incase. I've sent it off for a service ( free but any work done charged) I've gone to a inbox subscription (klim vest) better coverage especially neck, fit better under jackets, main things built in back protector and app on phone to check airbag status. The dianaise is good I'm keeping it and will use as a spare.

Airbag is good, but not this one, 90% of all airbag vest will protect almost everything of ur upper body this one chest and back 👎👎 I don’t recommend
