Enter, THEN on the keyboard, press CTRL and F at the same time. You may need to press CTRL F a second time if the item isn't between the grid tiles. It works. Type the cheats with "off" to turn off.

"20 years is a long time"... dude. I was 20 when TS1 came out. I have vivid memories still of playing ALL the sims games. I still remember the gameplay, build controls, shortcuts, cheats -- all of it for all the old games. TS2 was A-MAZING, especially as just being a huge leap from TS1. I even built my own mods for TS2. TS3 was probably the most fun I ever had in terms of gameplay. It was a bear to mod, because the initial load time was SO long, so testing and tweaking a mod was annoying. But the open world is phenomenal! Once you get through the initial load screen, you can play for hours. There were times I would leave the game up for days and just keep going back to it when I had time. And then there came TS4... a gigantic step backward in pretty much every aspect except build mode. Being able to move whole rooms around made my year! And adding foundations after the rest of the house, and, and, and. I just in the last few weeks have started watching YT builders, and you guys are so incredible (in TS4 anyway haha). Keep it up!

For me it's a total opposite. I love the Sims 2, I find the catologue of the sims 4 really hard. I do play the sims 4 now, but i still miss some small things she points out like the walledges.
ps. to move objects out of the grid just use the cheatcode: Boolprop snapobjectstogrid false

I'm one of those who has played since Sims 1, and I wish newer players could experience the excitement of being able to go from only having babies/kids, to aging like we have now. Sims 4 has overtaken Sims 2 for hours played now, but I sank most of my life into Sims 2. Watching this brought back ALL the memories. I think you'd love the detail in the live mode parts, even though it's pretty clunky now.

I'm from 2002 and I played the sims 1 when I was like 6 then my mum installed the sims 2 on the pc that was in my room you know like one of those old school PC's with the big monitor? Yeah one of those and I'd play the sims 2 every morning from when I woke up to when I went to sleep until I was like 8 then my mum had a laptop which had the sims 3 installed and since it looked newer than the sims 2 I was like "Cool" so every morning my 3ft self would wake up super early and secretly play the sims 3 until my siblings woke up and then I'd go back to my room to play the sims 2 instead. I think I started playing the sims 3 when I was like 10 or 11 and I still like to play it but my game crashes everytime I load it and I started playing the sims 4 like 2 years ago. But my favourite sims is the sims 2, I miss playing it but windows XP 98 isn't supported anymore so I can't install it on any computers lmao.
Yeah that was the tale of my sims adventures. I realise no one cares but hey, at least I'm not hating lol

I know this is like a year old, but I loved playing Sims 2 as a kid and teen, and seeing you discover how to build brought back so much nostalgia! I keep getting so frustrated in the Sims 4 because I have to relearn how to build stuff. I spent like an hour trying to figure out foundations because I thought platforms were foundations. 🤣 Finally broke down and watched a video to see you just raise the room and I rage quit! 😂😂😂

Also, did anyone else buy all the expansion and stuff packs and then never get through all th content because the next iteration came out? I still never played everything possible in Sims1 Making Magic because Sims2 came out; likewise with Bon Voyage because of Sims3.
