A new survey shows what teens like, and fast-food and athleisure are coming out on top
Millennials move over. Generation Z outnumbers you by around a million, making the group the largest cohort of American consumers - a valuable demographic for brands to capture early.
Unfortunately for brands targeting the group, spending is down 2.4 percent compared to this time last year, as parents are contributing 63 percent of teen spend this year, down from an average 68 percent. Those figures come from a bi-annual survey conducted by research firm Piper Jaffray.
According to the survey, 5,500 teens with an average age of 16 from across the country shared information on their preferences and spending related to fashion, food, media and more.
FOOD FASHION
Teens are spending slightly more on food outside the home than a year ago, with almost a quarter of spending now going to grub - which trumped the amount spent on clothing by 5 percentage points.
But Gen Z isn't crazy about full-service restaurants. In fact, teens prefer limited service establishments two times to one, Piper Jaffray found, marking the highest preference for limited service since at least 2009.
Chick-fil-A took the top spot as the most preferred restaurant, while Starbucks fell to second. The coffee chain has been number one 12 times out of the last 14 surveys. Chipotle snagged the lead those two other times, and now ranks third.
Piper Jaffray analyst Nicole Miller Regan noted the McDonald's brand "remains generally strong" but cautions teens' brand preference for the Golden Arches' "remains below peak levels seen in prior survey periods, and also saw strong moves from Five Guys and Red Robin."
WHAT'S HOT AND WHAT'S NOT
There's no sign of waning preference for athleisure, with athletic wear predominating among teens, according to the survey. Some 41 percent of teens name an athletic apparel brand as their preferred apparel brand, 15 percentage points higher than last year and 6 percentage points higher than in the fall.
Nike remains the top apparel and footwear brand, up sharply from last year for both males and females by a very wide margin.
Adidas is the fastest growing brand in the survey, Piper Jaffray found, with the company's apparel jumping to fifth favorite from tenth last year. Adidas footwear preference hits an all-time high for females and a decade high for males. The German athletic brand is also unseating Nike as the top "new brand" worn by males.
Lululemon is also on the rise with teens, landing as the fourth most desired apparel brand and sneaking into the top ten as a fashion trend for males for the first time. Privately-held Patagonia cracked the top five. - Zábava

I agree with your opinion on the _normal_ deluxe chicken sandwich, but the deluxe part is really only good for when it's the spicy chicken sandwich. The lettuce and tomato tends to balance out the intense spicy-factor of the spicy chicken, so it tends to taste good with an in-the-middle spice-intensity level. The normal deluxe chicken sandwich tends to just taste extra mild, as the lettuce and tomato has nothing to balance out and instead just makes the sandwich taste more like a nullifying agent than an actual meal.

Is the chika fil a spicy chicken sandwich spicier than other fast food chicken sandwiches?
because every other place I get a spicy chicken sandwich from it's usually barley even spicy

The aesthetic of it all used to be so odd to me. A man in an old type suit, talking formally and reviewing food in his car. But alas, I've watched so many videos of his that I see nothing out of the ordinary about this anymore. Plus, it's so refreshing to see someone do their own thing, completely unpretentious, honest and objective about their opinion on CZcams. I never though I'd actually care for a food-related channel, but I have to say, Reviewbrah, you are something else, something that is really lacking on the internet (and the world in general) nowadays, and it takes guts to ignore all the people dissing on you simply for meme-ing purposes, so you have my utmost respect. Keep doing you, seriously, your channel and your personality radiating through, are a breath of fresh air, and that's coming from a person that is heavily influenced by the culture of memes and layers of irony.

Here's the way I look at it.... the original sandwich is absolutely amazing. 10/10. Unique and perfect. When you add stuff to it (even though its good stuff), it distracts from the greatness that is the original chicken sandwich. It's like taking a premium steak, and covering it in hot sauce or bbq sauce. Yes, the toppings are good, and the premium sandwich is good, but I prefer the pure awesomeness of the original.
I never thought I'd say anything like this in my life, but your deconstruction of the chick fil a sandwich was fucking brilliant. I'm not being funny or sarcastic, I genuinely thought this was a compelling review.

I hope your tummy feels better! Great review. I wish you would come back to visit Los Angeles again! I recommend going to Clifton's Cafeteria (established in 1932) in downtown L.A. It has the old fashioned ambience/style again after they reopened in 2015. They have swing night and play all the nice 40's music throughout the joint..hopefully you can visit it some day. Love that Reviewbrah mentioned the McD's chicken sandwiches--they tried a "southern style" chicken sandwich a few years ago that resembled Chik-Fil-A's but it was never as good. There's just something about CFA's signature menu item that can't be emulated or improved.

This and the spicy are the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. You can get pepper jack on this sandwich and I recommend that. I also love to add chick fil a sauce as well. SO delicious. The original is missing a lot. I need those crisp veggies with my meat.
