You have a pleanstly expressive voice which moves the video right along very smoothly.
Thanks Sam 🙏🏻🌝
Thanks for checking out some of the older Japanese trains in service! 1:26 There are no baby shinkansen services in Kyushu. Maybe you're thinking of the Shinkansen relay expresses towards Nagasaki? 3:18 The seats being higher up is the whole selling point of this train; it's done on purpose. 4:09 Hakata to Yufuin is 138.4km by the route the Yufuin no Mori takes.
Glad you enjoyed the train!!
As a half Japanese, I'm thrilled to see more content about Japan from you. Many of the stations and trains in Japan that I've been to are very busy and also quite convenient, and I'm really amazed by just how developed they are with train transportation when everyone else thought cars and planes were gonna supersede.
I've been watching ever since my first ever solo trips last year and I've been really happy to see you cover all these cool train rides. I must say you have created a gem for my later solo trips. :)
Thanks so much 👍🏻 I've still got plenty of Japan content to come 😍
It's also known as Yufuin Forest Railway Train.
Ah the 7-stars. That thing is pure luxury. On a side note there is no First class in JR just Green class. Just if anyone wonders when they get to the train and see no sings of the first class...
Green Car actually, but it's usually translated as First Class on signage now too. One day I'll do the 7 stars 🤩
@@NonstopEurotrip Yeah you should do it at some point. Just keep eye on Japan Railway Journal from NHK there might be some other interesting (cheaper) trains too
Always a joy watching Japanese train videos
🎌😎
JR passes are the best and Japanese trains are stunning. i was in Japan in 2019 and bopped around Western Japan on a 7-day Regional Railpass (Sanyo-San'in) pass that allowed me to check out Osaka, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Fukuoka (Hakata), Kyoto, Nara and Okayama. it is simply stunning wherever you go and the rail system is extremely efficient and organized. the wood paneling in this train is indeed exceptional. this video makes me long for another jaunt in the land of the rising sun - thanks!
Does the JR pass include the Shinkansen high speed trains as well
The JR Pass used to be incredible value for money for almost every trip to Japan. However, the prices increased by a whopping 70% in October, so for many trips, regional passes are better, and on many trips, it may be less expensive to purchase tickets individually.
Regional passes are much more economical, true - if planning to visit specific places within a region or maybe a combination of regional passes and one-off single tickets depending on your itinerary@@JBS319
Me too, and the videos aren't even doing well 😂
awesome really appreciate your hard work you put in your videos
Great video !!
I was surprised to see the train so empty and you mentioned being the only foreigner in the car. Then I noticed it's filmed in 2022 and all made sense LOL
Yeah lol. I went to Japan the week after they reopened from COVID
Wonderful
I've only been to Japan once and I loved it, beautiful country. Would be so happy to get a chance to go back one day. Another excellent video.
You should! I can't wait to go back 😁
I've lived in Nagasaki for five years, and the mountains would always get my attention whenever I travelled around Kyushu by train.
The Yufuin no Mori is one of several storytelling trains in Kyushu, and while the island is out of the way compared to the major cities in Honshu, these trains are a really good way to appreciate the Japanese countryside. The best part is that these storytelling trains are not fast, which means you can really take in the sights. I've also been on the "Kawasemi Yamasemi", "Aso Boy", and the "A-Train", and they all have their charms.
Yufu's also a great place to be. It's usually cloudy most of the time, but I was fortunate enough to enjoy a clear day during a long weekend trip, during which I could see Mt Yufudake in its entirety.
I absolutely LOVED it there 😁
One of my favorite trains!
Your present was in that bag on the table 😉
@@NonstopEurotrip and I loved it!
What a fabulous ride! That JR ticket looks a real winner. One day for me, but right now I have a lot more of Europe to discover. Keep blazing the trail 👍
Thanks John, get yourself to Japan you won't regret it!
The East Asian Railway and their services just leaves me speechless....
Like, 'Kya hi kehne inke!'
👏👏👏
Tell me about it brother 🙌
@@NonstopEurotrip
I think you got it wrong.....
By 'kya hi kehne inke' I meant, I have no words for Japanese Railways and other East Asian Systems.
12:02
That's the Engine no. 51 'Hiro' outside The Japanese 'Tidmouth'❤
Nice report! You must take the Spacia X of Tobu Railways to Nikko. Check out the Cockpit Lounge seat, we did that last November.
Happy to see you in Japan again. Speaking of great value, I find that any train in Japan outside of the Shinkansen is amazing value for money. While Europeans may find intercity/regional trains slow (none of them runs faster than 150 kph), I think it is a good pace to enjoy the wonderful scenery
Edit: Oh, it was in 2022. Nevertheless, still happy to see you have some more videos to show 😊
Totally agree! I love Japan I just wish my videos would do better 😂
Νice scenery
I rode the Yufuin No Mori in 07 and it was wonderful. I took it from Hakata to Oita on the east coast of Kyushu. Does it still go that far? I returned to Hakata via Kokura station in Kitakyushu taking the class 885 Sonic and the 100 Kodama Shinkansen. The Sonic had a translucent partition behind the cab that turned clear when it started moving. Japanese Limited Express trains are great because you really get to see the scenery and have a huge variety of colors and designs. As you said, they're available all over Japan and essential for anyone who wants the full Japan rail experience. I rode 15 of them on that trip, making the most of my JR pass.
Sounds like a great trip!
I have taken the train called sonic 883 series service which is running from Hakata to Oita at JR Kyushu in the past
It was on the platform next to us when we departed 👍🏻
Can you buy a bento box on the train?! Also...yes please ride all the trains and have loads of content for us! These are so much more interesting than high speed lines.
Unfortunately not!
When I first travelled around japan on the japan rail pass I went on the Shinkansen as much as possible, but then I realised that most of the new lines are in tunnels and you don't see anything. So now I take much slower trains and stay in one region, enjoying the journey itself instead of the novelty of travelling on a train at over 300km/h (but mostly in a tunnel).
It's definitely worth slowing down and seeing some of the views!
Glad to se 2+2 seating versus 3+2.
Narrow gauge, don't forget!
Japanese limited express train seat widths don't change that much whether you're on a shinkansen or not. Wider train= 5 abreast, Narrower train= 4abreast or fewer.
Very nice train! If I would ever go to Japan, I would ride this.
P.S.: The google translator translated the video title to 'SCHRECKLICHE' which means 'horrifying'. What did you write there?
"Quirky"
@@marcinkwiatkowski9926 but why quirky, I thought it was fine...
The interior is quirky,.not horrifying lol
Japan has many unique railway lines ran by some private companies
I'm not sure if you've already ridden it before, but I would highly recommend the Saphir Odoriko train operated by JR East. Its has some of the best scenery in Japan and I would love to see a video about it!
I haven't but it's definitely on my to do list!
Very surprised you were the only foreigner on the train. When I took it a few weeks ago it was full of Chinese tourist groups. Then again, I was on the AM departure from Hakata which is suitable for day trips.
Yeah I was surprised how quiet it was tbh!
i missed this last week somehow...
I hope you enjoyed it 😊
Boa viagem de trem ai
When are you travelling on the Seven Stars Kyushu?
You paying? 😂
Great trip. Yeah, another Japanese unique train. Bit curious, is your stock of unpublished Japanese Train video still available or not?
I've still got about 6 more to edit 😬
Thanks for this video. Which side of the train seats gives more scenic views, is it the right or left side? How do we choose a seat that has bigger window when we book our sear reservation? Thanks
The right side heading towards Yufuin is better 👍🏻
@@NonstopEurotrip Thank you
Did you have a plan for Japanese long-distance ferry? something like Yokohama-Hokkaido or Yokohama-Okinawa
Next time!
Are you looking on going on the orange limited express train?
Not this time!
