I absolutely love Delta. I live in New York and have flown their direct flight to Lagos. When I was traveling to Lagos in 2018. Delta cancelled the flight at the last minute. For passengers that did not live in New York, they provided hotels and they paid for me to take a cab back home. When I arrived at the airport the next day for my flight to Lagos, they had prepared a meal for all the passengers at the gate for the inconvenience of the cancellation. Delta also mailed me a check for $200 and gave me 10,000 miles. I never forgot the way that Delta worked hard to make up for the last minute cancellation of the flight to Lagos. I will be a customer of Delta for life.

My experience with Delta has been positive, I remember some years ago I was flying from New York to Accra, and the plane was overbooked, they announce that if anybody can volunteers for the next day I did. They put me in a nice hotel , paid for transportation and food and on top of that reimburse me for the ticket. I literary travel to Accra and back to New York for free, thanks to Delta Air Lines.
But you did Delta a favor by volunteering for the next day. Remember it all started because Delta overbooked.

before covid premium select was served on ceramic plates and had a main course, salad, desert, warm bread, charcutier plate, and condiments including olive oil.
This is the route I fly all the time. Now that I have major points and status with Delta, I feel like I have to keep using them.
Sassy, thanks for sharing.I always flew Delta home, last one was January this year, flight was smooth, liked the early arrival,as I had to get on the 2pm domestic flight, but their meal is still an issue ,other than that,Delta it is.Blessings.

Yes flew delta business class 2weeks ago recommended if going straight to the us but I would advice Qatar or emirate or Turkish and the wash room wasn’t clean and the will was nahhhh

Sassy, I made it!! I took a flight in the main cabin from Atlanta to Lagos last year, but I have never flown premium select. One big difference I see is that the chairs look very comfortable! The food was not the best though. Thanks for sharing Sassy!

Sassy! I made it. Thank you so much for this review. I really, really enjoyed this review of Delta Airlines. I have flown them around the continental US on several occasions and never had any issues with them. They have always accommodated me in the past. One time, I was delayed out of Baltimore, MD and they upgraded me to First Class all the way back to California! This was also the same airline that accommodated the Super Eagles Olympic soccer team when the Naija government 'abandoned' them. Delta stepped in and provide an aircraft for the team to Brazil and they arrived about 3 hours before their match. By the way, this review is making me want to travel so badly 🤣🤣😂

I watched King Richard on my flight home from London to Dallas. It was one of the best movies I’ve ever seen, I really enjoyed it. I would also highly recommend it to anyone who has not seen it. Was very impressed with your review of Premium Select. Delta is rated among the best I’m PE offerings. I hope they do provide a better meal service in the future. For an 11 hour flight, the meal was hideous. Nice you had a lovely looking breakfast sandwich and gorgeous fruit shortly before landing.

Honestly I mostly only like delta because of the directs flights so stress free like this summer Im going on a direct flight with delta one to nyc from Lagos but with all this food reviews im not too excited but at least it wasn't too expensive since it was bought early
I flew LAX to Sydney in Delta Comfort+ which is the class between basic economy and premium select. The night before my flight back to LAX i paid $700 to up grade to premium select and it was the best $700 I ever spent! A world of difference. Delta is my first choice for air travel (I’m a Gold Medallion Delta SkyMiles member). They’re not the cheapest but they provide a consistent level of service I appreciate.

I have flown Delta Airline from Atlanta to Lagos. Other than extra legging space. lThe so call comfort sitting with additional cost is not different from the main sitting. Premium is a lot better. Also, Delta Airline only served one small meal after takeoff and some snacks with basis breakfast before landing. British Airways, Emirates and Qatar airlines are way better with thier meals service. For 11 hours trips, Delta Airline need to do better.

You're right. The comfort and economy aren't much different. Love their 1st class service tho. Way different. Unlimited drinks, 2 meals and seats that fold all the way down.

I like Delta and have used them. But, I’ll be flying on United in about 2 weeks to Lagos. Scared!!!

We're flying delta one next year on our way to Rome. I'm my opinion, if you can afford it 1st class, or delta one of its offered is the only way to go. Especially on long flights like this one. Good video.

Great review ! I fly Delta (Delta One) internationally on the Atlanta - Lagos and New York - London at least once a month for work. I do agree with the other comments that Delta need to do better on the food on their African routes.

I have flown ATL-LOS and JFK-LOS on Delta several times. Always a good experience, usually generous with food and drinks even in economy compared to BA or VS. Though it seems service declined since Covid-19 but I am sure it will get better. Had a much nicer experience on Delta Amsterdam to Boston last week. Clean cabin and great food. Their cabin crew need to be a little more respectful though. I experienced a nasty set of cabin crew on the JFK route last year. They were rude and practically tossing things at people instead of handing it to them gently…

I have a Delta A330 flight from Seattle to Taiwan coming up in February. I've flown in both Delta Comfort+ and Premium Select in the past and, frankly, Comfort+ is a bargain, Premium Select isn't. On my upcoming flight the upgrade from Comfort+ to Premium is $400. Comparing the two: neither lets you avoid the $30 check-thru baggage fee (and I DO use check-thru when I travel internationally for more than a few days!). Comfort+ gives you 34" of legroom, a standard-width (18", I believe) seat, and dedicated overhead bin space. Premium, 39" and a wider seat, dedicated overhead bin space. As far as meals, no difference. Delta's food service is better than Japan Airlines. That's the only positive thing I can say about it. Sorry, just not impressed with Premium Select - especially when Comfort+ is such a relatively cheap upgrade.

From the numerous Delta Airline reviews I’ve watched and read, I have deduced that Delta Airline is the best American carrier.
But the meal service on this flight is just appalling for an 11 + hours flight! I don’t know if to attribute this to the same issue of “under serving African routes” you talked about in your BA review, cause what could possibly be the explanation?! They can’t pin it on the pandemic at this point in time. They really need to do better with the meal! I would be pissed if I was served this on such a long flight.

Sassy, I made it. Delta is my go to flight for all of my domestic travel here in the states. I'm glad you had a chance to visit our beautiful airport here in Atlanta and you're correct it is huge. I actually just booked a flight on Delta earlier this week for my next trip to Lagos, usually I fly other airlines. I will say this when flying international flights on Delta, I always purchase my meal in the airport and board with it. Their meals are sometimes lacking.

I usually fly Delta ATL - Accra. If they the ATL- Lagos route which airline can I catch to Accra on same arrival day?
When I flew premium Select in 2019 Sydney to Australia they kept the food and drinks coming and in proper ceramic plates and metal knives and forks. As soon I got on the plane the hostess was offering me wine and did not stop lol. We were served dinner, snack and breakfast.
I wonder why they didn't have the same with this route

@@SassyFunke maybe because of COVID? I flew Delta One last September NYC to LAX and felt the food experience was underwhelming as well.
No airline should use Covid as an excuse for bad service again. Covid shouldn’t affect that tiny food on Delta, as economy passenger in BA got more than Sassy had in the Premium Select.

Once again, thank you Funke for this amazing Delta premium Economy flight experience. I find the premium economy way better for someone like myself with physical challenge for a long flight from Canada to Nigeria. The only thing you omitted in the video was the cost of the premium Economy. Nevertheless, thanks for these important videos.
Last time I flew Delta Premium Select was early November of this year. I broke my right arm in two places while in Vietnam and the cast they put on me pretty much elimated Economy Class seating for me!

About the blasting music, in Atlanta airport they play a lot of naija artist’s music because most of them like Davido, whizkid, and Tekno live in Atlanta.

The recline was great. Decent for premium economy. I wanted to pay for business before too but I was glad with the select offering.
Delta, please come to Abuja. The wahala of flying to Lagos everything I'm taking their flight to the US is not fun. Then when I return I have to pay for extra luggage on my flight from Lagos to Abuja.
From my understanding Delta Premium Select is the same as Domestic First Class.

I do not know about their other route. My flight in September 2022 Atlanta to Lagos was my first with the airline. Did I like it....... no. While on board, I kept asking myself why would the airline put this type of aircraft to this route. It was an old one and if am not mistaken, 90% on board were Nigerians and in addition, who ever prepared the Nigerian dish, failed them. I told myself...... delta Air in the near future is a full stop until they have a good aircraft that route. Glad that some people have a good tail. The airline should cherish that route because Nigerians travel alot and for us, direct flight non stop to home is good.
