I hated this song when I first heard it because of the drums around 1:35. They made me feel claustrophobic and this song in general made sad and I generally skipped over it. A dear friend of mine passed away a few weeks ago and she was young and it was unexpected and this song is all I have been able to listen to. I never thought I would hold on to something as much as I hold on to Hiding.
I hope things are easier for you by now!
I see a few mentioning the distortion at 1:35 but I think it's really fitting. It almost vocalizes the overwhelming feelings of attempting to fix the past

a lot of people seem to not like the drums but ive always loved them. they make the song sound like a passing train, especially with the end almost sounding like a railway crossing

i see a lot of people are commeniting on the drums ruining the song, but i think it really completes the song. it feels uncomfortable because thats how it wants you to feel at that time. it feels tense because its supposed to be

i know im a couple years late, but holy ghost is an album about moving on from those past memories. sports was living in it, you're gonna miss it all was remembering it and wallowing in it, and holy ghost is accepting the past as it happened and moving towards the future
