Lyrics:
I'm a waste of time and space
Drifting through my selfish ways
I don't know how I got here
Travel light endlessly
Distort all reality
I can't say how I got here
I'm a waste of time and space
Meandering unwanted days
I don't know how I got here
Entering a well-known phase
I scream get lost I hate everything
I can't say how I got here
[Pre-Chorus]
Still I can feel the need to change me from the inside
But I can't let anyone know just yet
If it's all the same, it's time to confront this face to face
I'll be with you the whole way. It'll take time, that's fact
I'm not just another face, I'm not just another name
Even if you can't see it now, we're proud of what's to come, and you
I'm a waste of time and space
Slipping past with getaways
I've let the days form weeks form years
I'm a waste of rock and dirt
Grass and ground and all the earth
Around me, around you
Still I can feel the need to change me from the inside
But I can't let anyone know just yet
If it's all the same, it's time to confront this face to face
I'll be with you the whole way. It'll take time, that's fact
I'm not just another face, I'm not just another name
Even if you can't see it now, we're proud of what's to come, and you

i think this is the best possible song modern baseball could’ve gone out with. modern baseball will most likely never come back, and i’ve accepted that. luckily they left us some of the best songs the emo scene has to offer. from the first time i heard “your graduation” a few years ago i was hooked. Rest easy, modern baseball
in a bittersweet way im kind of glad this is what they left us with. i miss them, but i dont think they could top this.
I like this take. This whole song kinda feels like the final song that heralded the end of that whole pop-punk/emo revival of 2013-2016ish, not just for MoBo, but in general. It was a great 3 or 4 years, but it had to come to an end, and I think this song, and the breakup of MoBo, kind of represented that, at least to me.
@@NL-fm5pw Man, I read this thinking that period was when Modern Baseball was formed. Crazy to realise that's actually when they wrapped. You're totally right that it's the perfect song to wrap up not only the band, but fourth-wave emo as a whole. Bands that still exist from that period - Foxing, Balance and Composure, The Front Bottoms etc. - have moved away from the sound. What gives me hope though is that it inspired bands like American Football and Mineral to reunite, and they're still going strong. With that in mind, I think we can agree that while the 'revival' period has come to an end, emo's as important as ever.
After all the songs they've done, this song has such a finality feel to it
it makes sense it is the final song on their final album.
Reminds me of The Weezer song - Only in dreams
And this is their final song
@@cza-pm-dxk950 bad ending: Brendan Lukens doesn't get socks bought for him
Knowing the story behind this song makes it 20 times better.
Which is?
the guys helping Brenden recover from his depression
DanyJ10 until you soon how Bren broke up the band in 2017 and fucked over every one else on the tour lmao Bren is a good dude but he shouldn't be in a band he needs severe help
take shelter the fuck is wrong with you mate? It's not his fault if he got the problems he had
@@CLVS are you aware he stole a bunch of money from the band to go on benders? Or how he was emotionally abusive to everyone in the band? Or how the record almost didn’t get made cause Bren wouldn’t leave his house?
this song is helping me get through a very hard time in my life. currently fighting a mental illness and this song is keeping me optimistic
never reallly understand what it meant to relate to a particular music or song, with this i do now.
I hope you’re doing well :), mental illness is a bitch. I hope you can enjoy some smiles soon
this song is just so real.
feeling stuck, alone, scared of the future, knowing you need to change without knowing how and “i’m not just another face, i’m not just another name”, the hope and confidence that you will make it out of what you are going through and will be better than you’ve ever been. and it’s heartbreaking to know that somebody whose made music that’s helped you through your hardest nights has struggled/is struggling with the exact same problems. just another face is a song that takes the thoughts and feelings i can’t put into words, and makes a complete masterpiece out of it. i really hope brendan is doing better. will forever be eternally grateful for them & the rest of modern baseball
gee thanks bud ya made my thoughts violently including maces and iron maidens and also brazen bulls into words thanks
This song is so nostalgic for me. It came out my senior year of high school, and the cd played in my car from release until I graduated. I don't listen to it nearly as often anymore, but I still bump it whenever I'm in a transitional period of time. The line "Still, I can feel the need to change" hits different every time.
This came out the year my son was born
This is the last song I played in listening to the entire MoBo discography. I needed this today. Thank you for everything Modern Baseball.
My favorite song off the album. Mobo is the best.
Somehow I find myself surprised by finding a new rock bottom. I don’t know how I got here but at least this song helps me feel human at a time where I need it
Rock bottom can hurt your bum but in time you’ll feel better. I hope it’s soon for you ❤
i miss them
I really hope Bren’s doing well, knowing the backstory makes me worried
wait whats the backstory?
Please tell us the backstory
Frank Rossado there was a documentary (idk what else to call it) about the band. It’s somewhere on youtube
EDIT: it’s called tripping in the dark
@@-thesignpainter9486 thank you so much !

Makes me cry every time
who the fuck is cutting onions? Goddamit.
Sry bro, I was making a salad. my bad G
MOBO slays my chest once again. Music that makes you feel is good music. 👌
I’ve never been so sad about a band likely never making another album 😢 this band and this album are the pinnacle of the genre for me. Also never saw them live sadly. All their albums are great obviously but this album in particular is just full of absolutely perfect songs.
this song and whole album are so underrated. favourite mobo
This song is so relatable it hurts
Best song in the album
I just listened to the entire 3 LPs in one day and this is a real tearjerker if we take into account the context in which Brendan was living. Thank you modern baseball
I heard this song in 2016 because of Tom Scharpling and the best show. Now 6 years later it's describing my exact moment in life.
Am I the only one who hears a lot of The Killers influences? Especially in the chorus. Great song though!
They cover The Killers a lot so probably
+Cade Mitchell Ah that explains a lot! Great choice of them ;)
Levi Reinds a lot of their stuff has a vibe similar to The Killers
Yea the killers even have a song called just another girl
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
“From that point on, she’s not just another face”
Deep song.
Holy shit.
Really strong The Killers vibes on this track ❤
Finally an emo band that doesn't glorify sadness 👍🖤
One of the best songs people everywhere should listen to
This song hits hard
this is the part where i am proper. This is the part where I'm...
goodbye Modern Baseball. I love you guys, and I hope Bren is doing better
After 11 months hooked on a desTructive drug, I am 4 days into recovery. This song gives me hope.
Good luck mate, I believe in you
which one was it? hows it going? hang on there, mate.
Hope you are doing well
I believe in you man
you got this!!
This song is this bands Twin Size Mattress
True
or their beach life in death
@@debaucheryscenes bro I just started getting into csh this is crazy
rest easy, MoBo.
Missing them bad.
Didn’t even know this was enough rock 😂 but golly does it go hard !
Awesome track. I'm ready for a tour now ✌🏼️
this song is pre coo
wor br
this track is lovely!
Ty Dylan 🥺
Always awesome.
i could literally listen to this for 10 hours
also im the 800th like
Feel like yesterday
fuck me, how’ve i only just found this band
What is this song actually about? I feel the tones of self-deprecation but with hints of hope
Watch the documentary "tripping in the dark" it explains a lot especially about this song in particular
Identity Crisis Ah thank you!
You hit the nail on the head bud. It's a song about having problems with depression and low self esteem, but having the sense to realize that you need to change your ways, and seeing a flicker of hope.
John McClane That's pretty nice, considering most songs that deal with depression usually wallow in the sadness as opposed to talking about how to change your ways.
This feels like a pixies song
nice!
This would be great for a training montage.
Sonething about this song really reminds me of The Killers...
