  • Pahar Ganj has changes: Indian food in Old Delhi. Pahar Ganj is an area in Old Delhi full of budget guesthouses, Indian food and shops for backpackers. It's also very close to the New Delhi Railway station. I used to stay in Pahar Ganj on my previous visits to Delhi and today we're back to try the same Indian food I used to eat back then in Old Delhi. Pahar ganj had changed though...

Travel Vlog Iv is a travel and food video channel. I'm Ivana, nice to meet you! You'll find travel and food videos on this channel because I like to take you along while exploring the world. These videos hopefully make you excited to travel and eat food around the world as well. There's such a joy in getting out of your comfort zone and growing as human being by traveling to new places and eating delicious food you've never tasted before.
I'm currently based in Bangalore because India is my favourite country in the world. Travel in India is kind of my thing but I've been al over the world. Just check these playlists to begin your journey with me: bit.ly/2l4sMk4
    FAQ's:
    Q Where are you from?
A I am born in former Yugoslavia. Mom is Serbian, Dad is Bosnian. During the '90's war we came to the Netherlands and I got Dutch nationality. I've lived in Amsterdam for 8 years but lost my heart to India. Since 2018 I'm based in Bangalore. See this video for my refugee story: bit.ly/2l17T9h
Q How can you afford to travel so much?
A I saved for 3 years while working full time and now travel vlogging is my job. I work together with tourism agencies but also do some freelance work on the side. You can watch this video: • HOW TO TRAVEL THE WORL... and this one: • HOW TO SAVE MONEY FOR ... to learn more about my story.
Q What camera do you film with and what editing software do you use?
A Canon G7X Mark II and Final Cut Pro X
    Q (Why) Are you vegetarian?
A I'm vegetarian but not strict. I don't eat any meat, fish, cooked/boiled or fried eggs. I gradually became a vegetarian over the course of 15 years because I disliked the taste of meat more and more. After doing a yoga teacher training in 2015 I also quit fish and the eggs. No matter my food preferences I have no issues with other people not being vegetarian. I don't judge others and kind of expect the same favor from others concerning my own food preferences. It makes for a more friendly world :-)
Q Why do you usually travel alone?
A Because my friends have jobs with limited holidays, kids and partners. Also I really like exploring on my own.
Q Why do you love India so much?
    A Watch this video: bit.ly/2iyUKkc and this one: • WHY I LOVE INDIA - 6 M...

I don’t think touching an unknown young lady is acceptable in Indian culture. It seems someone touched her either by mistake or intentionally and then said sorry by touching his heart. You know there are people who do this intentionally and then say sorry if they think the other person is offended.

You can come to karol bagh, the next neighborhood region. You can easily find budget hotels here too, and is mixed of old and new delhi vibes. The karol bagh market is very famous, especially bcoz of Ghaffar market. Here will be a youngest crowd due to hub of civil services Institute. Hi. I don't know how much the area Paharganj has changed but I would still recommend to not roam in dodgy places alone because I personally don't think any place can change so fast. You can stay in a good hotels in South and Central Delhi. You would meet some nice people too. Remember safety first. Stay blessed.

  • @---------------------------...

It's an Indian way of apologising. If you touch somebody or even your books/tools with feet by accident, you touch that person/thing with your hand/fingers and take it to your head or heart. It is kind of a namaskar, but not proper.
So yes, it's technically taking a blessing/apologising, but has nothing to do with the other person being white.

@TRAVEL VLOG IV I remember long long time ago as a kid in school time, if i or someone accidentally thought i/we hit someone, the instant reaction was a light tough, to get the person attention & putting hand in heart, as a gesture of saying sorry didnt mean it. its generally done when shy of speaking or believe language barrier to convey. That was a very Indian way.
As we grew saying sorry or my mistake was lot easier.
Its defiantly no blessing seeking or bestowing in a crowded area, Pahar ganj is crowded, its easy to feel u moved & hit someone accidentally or came in someone ways, or a rickshaw wallah did etc. Its just a way to check u ok & keeping hand on heart at same time to say sorry..
It happens sometimes in crowded placed, a silent sorry or saying my bad..
Nice Vlogs keep going, i love watching u eat, knowing how much u are a foodie, gives a odd sense of satisfaction, dont know why Cheers.
Also sometimes grannies put hand on heart & then instantly show u the full palm side of hand, meaning blessing from heart, long live & prosper..

No, touching any unknown person - Indian or foreigner is NOT a way of seeking blessing. If someone accidentally touches you, they may touch you and then their heart as a way of saying sorry. But beware of men who do that intentionally and then try to say sorry as if it was inadvertent. With the old lady, it must have been a genuine accident, but with young men, it could well have been a cover up when you turned around to look.

@Jenny Aka Janet Slatten The area is few kilometers away from Delhi's red light district. It's a wholesale market area in the old city where retailers come to buy bulk products. Its flooded with shops, eateries, cheap backpacker guest houses etc. I'd suggest you can explore the area (preferably with male companion) in the day time. But don't stay there. Get your accomodation in South Delhi.

touching for blessing isnt correct, i think they might accidentally bumped on you and to show gratitude they have done it and about lady, she might find you beautiful so thats why she must have done that some ladies do that to bless you

  • @sanjeevprasad1748

Hi Ivana, you are incorrect there. Generally if we touch somebody accidentally. By feet,. We touch to apologise. Nd it's a gesture that it was unintentional. At a spiritual level,. You. Know Namaste means I bow to you or God within you. So if I touch you by feet that's a sign. Of insult or disrespect. And therefore, I apologise to you. Or God within you.

TRAVEL VLOG IV agree. particularly you will see in Maharashtra ..if someone's feet by mistakenly touches you, they will touch you back and put their hand on their chest. to be simple ..A Hindu can worship anything on this earth or he can be Atheist! that's why Hinduism is not a religion its a way of living. watch Shashi Tharoor's "why I am a Hindu"

  • @sandeepsandhu4286

I don't think touching a Caucasian person is for blessings ...absolutely not..
It is common if someone hits you by mistake, and then they put their hand on their chest.. It's more like" I am so sorry" ( a non verbal gesture).
The only reason why some loosers touch a Caucasian women is because they think they are "loose " ( misguided Hollywood perception as women portrayed are relatively easy lays... If you know what I mean ) and it's OK to touch them. In India it's called "eve teasing " and something common in big cities and areas that are busy so these wolves can get away unnoticed.... It is a filthy habit and as a Indian man I absolutely detest it. I get ( and would get) really really mad should someone touch my sister, or mum let alone a foreigner.
I am sorry on behalf of those miniscule few out there, but rest assured it is not a " Indian thing " even though some idiots in India do it.
