- Welcome back to Boxing After Dark! Today, we journey back to the year 2002, a time long before Manny Pacquiao's epic battles with Morales, Bradley, and Juan Manuel Marquez. Back when Manny was just emerging as a new face in the USA, a defining statement would need to be made
- Zábava
I met pacquiao in 2010 at a hotel in Manila. My friend went up to him in his private dining room and asked if an American fan could meet him. I was shocked that he allowed me to come in, introduce myself, take a photo, and chat for a bit. We actually had a mutual friend. A really nice guy and a moment I’ll never forget.
Once saw Prince Naseem and Pacquiao in dubai laughing at something...imagine if those 2 fought in their primes 🤯
@@MarvelousMaterialNaseem chin would drop literally lol
Mbl
thats awesome Naseem is my favorite boxer and Pacquiao my 2nd@@MarvelousMaterial
@@TRASHTALKONLYKaren why are you crying?
I remember Floyd running from Manny for years until he was way past his prime. Manny will be remembered as a warrior and Floyd as a shrewd businessman.
Not how I remember it. Pacquiao was the one refusing the terms of the drug testing for years. And how would the older fighter (Mayweather) benefit from the passage of time? Floyd was even more past his prime than Pacquiao was.
@@TP-pq9xx if you're tactic is just to run around the ring and nick a couple of punches. you dont need to be at your prime to do that lmao
@@arashiness12 Mayweather threw and landed more punches in the fight. A lot more.
@@TP-pq9xx yeah right, after watching most of his fights. i can say he really liked running
@@TP-pq9xx People will remember Manny, Floyd not so much.....
I've been a Pacquíao fan since 2003 when he defeated Marcos Antonio Barrera and my dreams came true when I finally met Manny Pacquíao on 8-13-21 and got his autograph, and now sits on top of my shelf in my living room 🥊💯‼️
that's real treasure right there
That's awesome!!
I have been a Pacman fan since he defeated Oscar DeLahoya.
So lucky
DId you and manny pacquiao kiss on the lips?
Pac man Is one of the greatest boxers of all time
GOAT.
The greatest, sorry to correct you.
Absolutely
He's not the GOAT....MARCIANO IS
@@patrickgolla
Common dude everyone knows he fought tomato cans. He was like Fairyweather a cherry picker.
Manny fought everybody and anybody. How many belts did Marciano wear? One? Common man.
I was fortunate enough to be in the Philippines when Pacquiao had a fight . There was T.V's on the streets , hundreds watching , cars blowing their horns etc . The Country was almost at a standstill . He won as usual and what he did for his Country and it's people was lovely to see . Everyone from the the very rich to the very poor got a lift , and were proud of their Boxer and their Country , and rightly so .
Fun fact: everytime Pacquiao has a match, the crime rate in the Philippines drops drastically
Tvs? I remember them being on the radio live but not live on tv. I even remember him renting out a cinema just so he can stream it for his hometown community.
I grew up watching Pacman with my Dad.. he had a big impact on my Childhood
You deserve the heart more than the comment above yours.
Me too, my Dad always brought me to his friend's house to watch Pac since 2004.
Same!
Samedt. before he became popular, me and my dad, we always watch his matcch a boxing show named Blow by Blow.
Same. Ever since the Barrera fight. Each fight was a core memory for me.
Something about Julio tells me he is a good guy. Something in the glove bump at the end of the first round. I think it was mutual respect. Tinged with a little surprise. Props to Manny. Awesome guy!
Two humble fighters respectful of each others capabilities. What every fight should be.
@@jeffreytan2948 agree
Mate, just the comment I was looking for. I noticed it too and it was the highlight of the video. Nothing beats good sportsmanship and respect.
Yeah, it made me smile. The feeling must've been somewhere along the lines of "Man, you're pretty good!"
timestamp at 4:09 incase anybody wants to watch that moment again
And without paying off the judges. True legend
🎯
Extraordinary power for such a little guy.. those blows hurt just watching them. You could hear them connect like a baseball bat swatting a ball out of the stadium.
Solid..body structure,powered by rice,steam non ripe banana,sweet potatoe,and corn.
Pure muscle..no fat
tree trunk calves... inoue too. hits so hard because base is so mf solid

Facts!
Manny honestly helped me get through tough times in my life. I told myself, keep going, the same way Manny would push through his opponents. I'm in a pretty good spot now in my life. I can't say I owe Manny it all, but I can say, he helped a lot. I watched him since Barrera match 1 to retirement. What an amazing career I watched unfold. Once in a lifetime.
( :
yeah specially his life story truly inspiring . rugs to riches
inspiring! ❤
Love the sportsmanship from both fighters at the end of the first round. Always love to see that kind of class in a contest of violence.
Mate, just the comment I was looking for. I noticed it too and it was the highlight of the video. Nothing beats good sportsmanship and respect.
THE ONE ☝️ AND ONLY 8 DIVISION CHAMPION.
5 X’s LINEAL CHAMPION MANNY PAC-MAN PACQUIAO 🥊💯🔥
6*
Favorite Pacquiao fight is Pac vs Margarito. Not only did he beat a much bigger guy who was seen as a boogeyman at the time, he beat the living hell out of him to the point where he was begging the referee to show his opponent mercy. Absolute beatdown. I'm sad that Pac retired on a loss, but he had one of the greatest careers of any boxer, especially in the modern era. Total legend.
Margarito was just big.He wasnt special without those loaded gloves and he was already brutally knocked out by mosley.
back then, no one had any idea.
So lovely to watch Freddie training Manny back in the day. What a wonderful partnership between two wonderful men. God bless them both.
I admire Pacquiao what he did to his career is tremendous.. no one can beat his record 8th division for the next 50 years.
On the under csrd of Tyson and Lewis. That's crazy. Me and my Pop watched boxing together. So many matches that we scored together. He passed on September 7th. I miss my Pop😢. R.I.P Pop.
May your Father RIP. Thanks for sharing
God bless you, i'm sorry for your loss. You have a great father and those are some cool memories..
@@peterjamesmmbago4433 Thanks for being a nice person. That's something the world needs.
@@robertcooney1938 Yr welcome
RIP to your dad
Pacman will always be my Favorite Boxer!1 So much respect for his dedication, success and work at becoming a multiple Champion. Also a very cool guy and a good man in real life, which is even more important than sports.
He is a legend inside and outside of the ring, I remembered how he handed his help to us here in Iloilo during the typhoon Frank just days after he won against Sanchez. He hasn't sleep for days cause of the jet lag yet he was so eager and humbly helped us Ilonggos cause he never trusted the politicians here.
DUDE, his sit up and speed with the cross is unbelievable. when he lands it you hear it clearly. knowing what Pacquiao did with his career it's till amazing to watch him in earlier fights.
Growing up in a Filipino household it was always an exciting time when he fought.
The GOAT of boxing.
Nah,I would pick Marvelous Marvin Hagler as the GOAT,That man was phenomenal, never been knocked down and was unstoppable, would destroy Manny or Floyd easily
@@patrickgolla Nobody has done as much as Pacquiao. No comparison. I didn't say Pacquiao was the most powerful or skilled. But those qualities alone are not sufficient to name someone the GOAT.
There might be people with better records but I will always be a fan of Pac Man, Aggressive fighting style and great character always stands out to me.
Most respected because of his etiquette and respect to the sport.
Wish more boxers were like Manny. Guy is a class act.
The greatest.....fearless and fights like a man, most amazing boxer ever.
He was fearless, and what I liked about him was if he lost it didn’t seem to bother him he just came back even better. That’s what I don’t like about boxing now is they are all afraid of losing their unbeaten records, forgetting losing is a part of becoming better, just don’t make a habit of it.
@@david-pb4biChicken weather..legacy..left the group
@@kamelyoj3711whatchumean left?! It cloned and radicalised what GOAT meant. 😪
@@kamelyoj3711the first reply is interesting. Seeing as after he lost to Floyd he made many excuses. No one else but after that mayweather L he complained a lot. Js

A true legend, GOAT of all time in the ring. He needs to stay away from the corruption of politics.
Great boxer, terrible politician. He’s tarnishing his own legacy
@@Tianzi38 at least he is not a thief like most politicians in the Philippines. He gives back to people donate/give money.
a real phenomenon, 8 divisions, has fought every legend and still has plenty of gas in the tank 🥊
Pacquiao definitely one of the best Boxers in his class and from what i ve heard one of the nicest guys definitely a fan of this man
Manny Pacquiao's boxing career since his prime till his retirement could be the only one which every Filipino has witnessed and surely left a mark to the world. The GOAT no doubt!
Absolutely amazing video! I watched Manny's entire career and sw his debut in the states live. He was a freaking killer.
Mannys power came from his legs, he had good leg push and arm punch coordination like you have never seen before. Aggressive and relentless is the best way to describe him one of my favorite boxers of all time.
Man you have a great bunch of OG videos from the 90s and 2000s of legend Manny Pacquiao and it's remarkably clear and high definition. what a videos keep it up man!!
my dad and i couldn’t really find much to bond over when i was young but watching manny pacquiao fights with him will always be some of my fondest memories with him
This is a Goat channel. Appreciate you greatly.
Every time Manny Pacquiao fights in the ring. I was scared because they were great boxers. Now I realize he is the GOAT of boxing.
This, manny fought no bum
Mani must be one of THE greatest boxers of all time but not only that he truly is a giant of a man & human being. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

The video was edited well! I was hooked from beginning to end 🔥 🔥
Speed , power and hard work. Overcame a weak chin and late start. One of the greatest of all time.
Awesome documentary. I love this history lesson. I am surprised that with all the editing the audio wasn't better balanced but still, nice work. Subscribed.
Man he hits hard! That sound!
Man his speed was just unbelievable, his left hand jab seemed to always just land so clean and smooth..

Damn boxing after dark 💔 boxing nostalgia
Maybe more year or century. NO One can replace the 8 division World Champion Boxing.
I feel fortunate to have lived to see the Rise of the Greatest Filipino Boxer of All Time, and one of the Greatest Boxers in World of All Time ...
What a fighter 💪🏻
the GOAT of boxing
The gaze and smirk of the security on manny says it all..a rising legend is to be known and celebrated for many years.😊
pac man, a very well known and respected fighter in the sport of boxing.
Pacman=GOAT, True showman in boxing and always exciting to watch his fights.
I been working with by boss Many Pacquiao resort in boracay i remember seeing him personally a very humble man wearing ordinary house clothes eating and mingling with his employees just like an ordinary guy like one of us in the resort no any extraordinary treatment he is as he is an ordinary person like us. Amazing Boss ever no one like many Pacquiao.
Absolute legend!

The sound of the punches gives me shivers.
Number of undefeated boxers: 15
Number of 8 division world champs: Manny Pacquiao
Clearly the GOAT
In PH, everytime manny had a fight, roads has low traffic and almost everyone's watching and cheering in theri every home. 🎉 Best boxer
A Legend.
one of the best in boxing history... and always a class act
I’m kind of glad that he retired, I miss seeing him, and so entertaining. There will never be another one like him.Humble, kind and very generous. Love his people.❤❤❤
Absolutely brilliant fighter, such a pleasure to watch him fight
I remember seeing pac as an undercard fighter on hbo back in the day. I always remembered him above other fighters. He had power and technique. I knew I would be seeing him headlining soon.
The man is among the nicest.Success never got into his head. He's just as humble as when he started.
Excellent.
I'm tired seeing people bragging floyd'$ 50-0 record described as the G.O.A.T OF BOXING. But when you are boxing enthusiasts no matter what human race the boxer is you will praise that man! I'm American representing midwest south dakota a fan of ONE AND ONLY 8 DIVISION CHAMPION MANNY "PACMAN" PACQUAIO!!!!
a true gentleman
I remember that fight… people were SHOCKED. No one gave him much of a chance coming into this fight
the gentleman assassin , not many of those in boxing
I watch this many many times😊
My lord god when boxing was actual boxing, very missed nowadays, 😔👏👏👏
The goat of boxing
The music and end gets me emotional.
He has always been a gentleman even when he was at his peak or his lowest. A true champion.
despite the experiences, i forgot pacquiao were this fast and powerfull. Man he was scary arround thia age.
great video. you all need to search for manny's first match in the US the announcers did not know who he was, could not pronounce his name, and were in shock at his power.
Wasn’t he a last minute replacement on like a 3 week notice too

dude stayed the same person after many years of success, very humble and nice person.
That was crisp. I could hear the punches pounding his face.
Greatest Of All Time. Flyweight world champion to Super Welterweight.
The one and only Pacman those were exciting times for boxing
remember watching this fight on tv at the time and being mesmerized by his speed
The legend of all legends..no other boxer can follow his foot steps in history..the one and only Pacquiao..
He was called the "people's champ", the home country cheered for every punch at every bar, our living rooms were full of close relatives whenever he's fighting, watching the TV intensely. The schools would have no classes for the day as if the nation was at a national holiday, Filipinos were never been more unified and praying for his victory. For anyone who wasn't able to watch, the first questions to another would always be "Has Pacquiao won?" It was a glorious time, it felt like a golden era for the Philippines whenever he fought in his prime. There has never been another champ after him, hopefully, someday I'll see the living rooms full of family and friends watching in a festive mood for someone again.
TKO yet again the Pac Man was incredible
No one can take away that remarkable 8 division at all.
I went to Manny's last pro fight in Vegas when he fought Ugas.. not the outcome we expected but to be in the presence of a GOAT during his walkout was incredible and made it all worth it despite the outcome!
I am glad to be a witness of his era. It was the great old days in the Philippines when everyone in the community was tuned in to his fights, people will gather together to set up a view for everyone to see, in my case it was a family affair at the house where everyone is excited and very nervous at the same time waiting for the fight to start.
I remember in the earlier fights, I was so annoyed by those spoilers who got their feeds from radio, because tv broadcasts we're so delayed with all the advertising exploits. However, this changed a bit when pay-per-view and online streamers of the fights became a thing.
I remember watching this
So strange watching it back and seeing such a quiet atmosphere for the soon to be great Manny . It was also on the Tyson Vs. Lewis card too
