  • Back in the day we used to say, "Yeah, but can it run Crysis?" Now, we're asking, "Can it run FLUX!?" Goose reviews the Odyssey Blue from Seeed Studio, a great choice for running your next Cumulus FluxNode.

Thanks for this review, it reminded me I have an unused Beelink mini PC that matches the Odyssey Blue and I can use it to setup a Cumulus.

Interesting. I've been looking at mini PC's for when I set up my node. I might just try this.

Nice little unit however why not buy the HP Elite G3 mini PC? It’s just as small 15w to 35w at max load and with a i5 CPU, 1TB SSD 8 and 16Gig RAM for only 110 to 150 on eBay, I got like 8 of them full mini PC with power adapter for 110 each free shipping, iMO cumulus has very low monthly rewards to invest over 300 when you add buying another SSD you’ll not gain back your investment within a year much less make a profit, IMO spend nothing more than what it would cost for a VPS for a year.

I like it a lot especially the flux blue
There actually a bit cheaper than what I’ve been doing for my nodes too bad they’re already back ordered
Would love to be able to get a few at least been slowly converting everything over to nodes

Thanks for the review looks like a nice machine Any suggestions if you have 5-6k flux. Doesn’t seem cost effective to run by 6 machines to run 6 nodes The ROI isn’t worth it at this point . Any ideas. I’m currently running to. Nimbus nodes on a VPS

Do not buy a Seeed Odyssey. I purchased one in December 2021 and it began acting up in mid-2022. I would get random crashes which became worse over time. Eventually, the machine became so unstable, it would not boot. I contacted Seeed in August and have been back and forth with them since then. After a number of email exchanges, they told me to log onto their website and fill out a form. They just denied my repair request because I purchased it from Amazon instead of their website. Very, very disappointing. At this point, they will not repair my computer and I'm stuck with a $300 paper weight. If you are considering an X86 single board computer, go with a Lattepande 3 Delta. Seeed customer service is terrible and their equipment is unreliable. I'm very disappointed in Seeed.
