These were no powerhouse with the 997 but a sweet little car in their day. We had one in New Zealand as a family car for several years, and I owned a couple myself, and dropped a 1340 109E engine into one, bolt in with no mods required. I know every nut and bolt on them. They were a 4 door stop-gap between the launch of the 2 door only 105E in 1959 and the Consul 315 109E in 1961. Same rust challenges as the 100E of course.
How are classic owners getting on with E10 petrol???
BLTahiti Blue, over Triumph Wedgwood? I had one in BMC Aqua!
The 107E was built with the 105E powertrain for a couple of years. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Prefect
It was Mark Figes & it still retained the old style vacuum wipers albeit with the Ford Consul system with the vacuum pump direct to the vacuum wiper drive motor from the inlet manifold instead of the reservoir mounted on one of wings.
Plenty of filler around the bottom end and looks like a 105E Ford Anglia engine fitted
This is the Ford Prefect 107E which had the 997cc Ford Anglia 105E OHV engine fitted instead of the 1152cc SV engine which was fitted in its predecessors. They always had 2 tone paintwork too.
This is a Prefect 107E, which had the OHV engine. By this time the side valve engine only remained in the two door Popular 100E.
