Today we check out the new DLC of the Contra collab Operation Guns in Vampire Survivors as Lucia, a character all about lasers. The starting weapon C-U-Laser is already questionable as solo weapon, however it ends up helping us out as it makes it easy to die and gain bonus stats, which the character gives additional of upong dying. But this whole plan then relies on the evolution being able to hold up.

Skips freezing Arcana, immediately after realizes you need to freeze them to kill them. Classic Dex vid :-)
Seems to have pretty awful damage regardless, but freezing would help.
That and Awake might give it the damage boost it needs.
I think this needs to be reran with freeze!

He’s got a good reason for it he just always ends up sealing the ones he ends up needing
This seems like it'd actually be a great weapon to take the freeze arcana with so the enemies wouldn't get pushed away.

Nah. Still garbage. If he didn’t skip the freeze arcana this weapon would’ve been absurd.
Im pretty sure what was happening with the guardian being knocked back is that the enemies in front of him were getting knockbacked so much and they were knocking him back with their bodies. So technically he wasnt getting knocked back but actually just getting shoved back with the crowd of enemies
You can try limit break it with freezy arcana
I think the knockback and relative low damage has to do with the enemies on this stage and not the weapon. Every weapon has the same issue on this stage in my experience running it inverted; it is really hard to level up and evolve on this DLC stage. It seems like part of the enhanced difficulty curve compared to the previous DLC.
It will be interesting to see you play with this and the scanner on Abyss to tease out its real power!

Yeah, 100% a stage problem. The weapon does still do a lot of knockback for sure, but it isn't nearly as egregious as this stage would lead you to believe.
Yeah, this map is wickedly hard on inverted, knockback and - seemingly, based on my impression - very, very bulky enemies makes it so difficult to actually kill anything. The knockback is more about the map than the weapon, I believe.
It's nice that the map is that hard in some ways, it's *so* difficult that using the most OP stuff doesn't actually feel overpowered, but, yeah, not a good map for limit breaks and such (Unless it's a REALLY strong weapon).

I did the same thing as you when I first tried to check what the stat changes were.
I tried the laser with paranormal scan and it was alright going for the same arcana in a different order. It put in work but not the strongest of the new weapons :) can't wait for you do do the fist limit break I loved it :)
Freeze arcana makes it go alright
Maybe the knock back that applied to all the small enemies were what causes the guardian to move backwards. Despite resistance to knock back via weapons. Enemy collision still applies to the guardians
One suggestion for this weapon. Go to the aria where the secret boss is in this stage and you can get more kills because there are things that enemies run into and won’t be knocked back.

i think with the freezing arcana and the bonus stats weapon would help this out a lot

The weapon evolution is actually really good DPS and out Dps some of the top weapons in the game combined with freeze. The weapons aren't balance around limit Break so its irrelevant how much DPS weapons does in LB. Alot of the good LB weapons are thrash normally.
The guardian does not get knocked back. However, the enemies in front of him do, and he is perma stunned, so he can't move forward. Only gets pushed back by normal enemy getting knocked back.
If the weapon hits really fast would the explosions also happen fast? Explosions + Freezing so you can hit enemies?
Awake would go well with Lucia's passive, but yeah this is an "ice arcana weapon"
I suspect what was happening with the guardian being knocked back was some kind of stagger overflow effect due to how insanely fast this fires.
Also i'm petty sure it fires a stream of projectiles for each "firing activation", duration increases the number fired and amount makes you fire additional streams. Hence why turning in circles quickly cna make them fly every which way. Your probably hitting anything in the direction your facing a hundred plus times a second. And cooldown just decreases the time between "Firing Activations".
nah it's just other enemies getting knocked back pushes the guardian away, giving the illusion of guardian getting knocked back
The Guardian isn't taking Knockback he is being bumped by other enemies.
Also - Using Inverse mode is bad on this map, makes enemies too tanky.

Whenever you think poncle couldn't get crazier with the weapon effects, they prove us wrong everytime they release new VS content
Inverse mode really does drastically make this map harder - the weapon isn't as bad as it looks lol.
The knockback is ridiculous on the new stage.

I wonder if Dex could try again using the freezing arcana, so the weapon doesn't knock all the enemies out of the screen before killing them.
Yea I will do that, I will rerun a couple of weapons in the future. The main issue with these early limit breaks is that I dont know yet how the weapons work, what their flaws/weaknesses/strengths are

You should try using this weapon with phieraggi (the evolved base Game guns)
Yes. You should've used jail of crystal instead of silent old sanctuary. -3% cooldown isn't better than killing more. Do you know which enemies can't get knocked back? Frozen enemies
Yeah, none of the dlc weapons so far seem like great one weapon challengers.

I’m disappointed with this DLC. The weapons just suck. They’re a cool gimmick for one or two runs, but after that I’m just banishing them and reverting back to the usual affair. Maybe time and new information about synergies will soften this view, but for now I’m not impressed.
