Hey, my Fellow Follicle Frontiersmen! In this video, I'll explain why I think quitting your hair loss fight because of shedding is not the best idea.
Of course, if you are experiencing side effects from the drugs or you cannot afford to purchase them, those are good reasons to quit. But to quit because you're shedding - that's a mistake in my opinion.

    Great and timely video!
FWIW, I would recommend guys to do their regular check ups (blood/urine tests) to make sure the shedding isn’t caused by or prolonged due to malnutrition.
Recently went to see my dermatologist and physician and they both said the body can pull back on non-essential systems (like hair growth) if it isn’t getting all the needed nutrients. (You can eat healthy foods but still have an unbalanced diet.)
Not suggesting it’ll eliminate excess shedding completely but you’re giving your body the best chances to help itself.

When you say "shedding" do you mean just the hair you see on the floor, in the tub, pillow, and so on OR the actually receding of a hairline or crown? I see no more than the average amount of hair now and then only in the tub. None on the pillow and I can't even pull any out. But I'm watching a quickly receding hairline that's fine for days or a week or two then a jump in more skin that's visible and even a white line around the area that has yet seen sunlight. This started in Dec 2020. Oral and topical Finasteride was started the first week of Jan. I've recently added topical Dutasteride also. Laser every other day. After almost 9 months the recession continues but I've never had hair in massive amounts anywhere on the floor or tub. I've had the sides and back of my hair cut recently but my head has not needed a hair cut in a year and a half and still looks like I had one recently. I believe I have Alopecia Areata or telogen effluvium. I will give it 3 more months since I do not like the side effects and if a year can't at least stop the hair loss then I believe it won't work. I have ordered Adenosine and restarting Roller Derm so I should look like King Kong at this time. BTW, I take 15% minoxidil with the 1mg topical Finasteride. The crown has grown most back and I'm in my early 70's so the stuff does work for some and for me in places except the area I want it to
