I used to own a Citroen ZX turbo diesel from the mid 90s that thing was still running great when i sold it in 2015 with 260 thousand miles on the clock lol Citroen used to make good cars back in the old days
This little-bit phenomenal car must be given in good hands, thrustworthly hands :) This car must be reincarnated... Mechanical side is easy from easest, but the body must be worked on. This is the most important thing to extend the life of the car...
Remember my dad taking one of these for a test drive in about 1994. Felt like a rocket ship at the time. Alas he didn't buy it. Shares running gear with the 405 MI 16 I think?
I would help the battery to turn of the headlights 🙂 Also; first both headlights were working, later, only the left hand side.. blown bulb or electrical issues?
Its very interesting to see you work on this dreamcar 🤩 I got a xantia activa tct in mint condition and the activa and the bx 16v were my dreamcars growing up.. Now I need to get a bx 16v 😊
Nice you got it to run, seeing this video made me realize that my Renault 19 16v runs the same coil so I'll be stocking up a few of those as spare parts 😎
@@SeasideGarage Think you're right that they where used in many models, but as with old cars it's wise to keep lots of spare parts when you find them. Having (rare) spare parts saved my day more then once!
It would help if you bolted down the coil so that it had a good ground. It fires but when the coil vibrates around on top of the engine it loses it's HT path to ground.
Should not need to actually.. but its not good to have it jumping around anyway... but watch closely and you will see that its attached in the next clip :)
Hehe the Reliant that never was... body was designed for the maker of the three wheel cars to modernise its smaller 4 wheel sports lines giving Reliant its 3 wheel and 4 wheel small utility/runabouts, the proto BX to be a mid range tourer and the continuation of the meaty beaty big and tasty V6 powered Scimitar sports cars at the top.
i would have never thought that 2 spark wires would be plugged incorectly. I guess u have to double check everything when u buy a car that hasnt run a while.

The lights come on because it is a Swedish car, as required by local regulations iirc
@@erkdrey You'd think the regulations would allow the car to be wired so that with the starter running the lights aren't causing a current drain.....
Constant runing lights.. but I switched the main beam off.. :)

I dont think the coils are rare... but my local shop wont restock them...
