- Rory McIlroy was our first opponent for this year's one club challenge and he went with a 6 iron. Since he hits that club almost as long as most of us hit our drivers we were in for a real battle.

Rory is awesome, I met him in person once, he couldn't have been more polite, even posed for a picture with me when he was clearly dead-tired, and was able to put on his best smile anyway. Clearly if he had the tolerance for this, he is a great sport XD
Were there cameras recording nearby (phone or otherwise) etc etc... because if so odds are was why he did it and why he was "nice"... dont want to have tour career ended and your aponsorships pulled because 20 videos of you being a dick to a fan get put up on social media
Such a roll model for the game. The way this guy acts outside of competition is awesome. Genuinely seems like he's not detached from reality at all. Saw that video of him and "that disabled boy" earlier as well. He didn't patronize him or speak in a funny tone, he just enjoyed the chance to talk to the kid. Respect

Watching Rory on the PGA Tour I wasn’t really sure if I liked him or not. After seeing this I really like him now. He seems very nice and down to earth.
Rory has been on the PGA tour since 2010 and you couldn't make up your mind til you saw a short CZcams video?

Rory is a class act and someone I enjoy being a fan of. He lets his game do the talking and shows what a professional athlete should be. He reminds me of the classic players that had character as well as skills!
I love these videos of Rory because it just goes to show how genuine he is. Just a man doing what he loves and inspiring others along the way. He’s humble, down to Earth, and of course a fantastic golfer with one of the best swings on tour. Absolutely my favorite golfer

I played (a) sport at a fairly high level. In two different sports. Watching some of my peers interact with players of slightly lesser ability or skill in a dismissive manner always got my back up. I had to keep myself grounded, and the best way to do that was to offer advice and take part in practices with other players just to help them progress. It felt good. And I never let my accomplishments go to my head. When I see international sports stars with the same ethic interact with others, it warms my heart. Everyone just wants to be seen as human, and want to know that their idols are human as well. Take a bow, Rory. You have a fan in me for life. You are of the 1% of all sports stars that actually draws others into your game with your personality.

One of the only guys from Northern Ireland who I’m truly proud off. Such a nice guy and has came from humble beginnings from what I’ve heard. Truly an inspiration to people in Northern Ireland

worked the memorial tournament and got to meet/talk to rory and i can say he’s exactly like this. he asked us to change his spikes and that he teed off in 10 minutes and i was being a little sarcastic with him being like “oh no rush then right?” and he dished the sarcasm right back out saying take our time and that this wasn’t important 😂 we had a good laugh and then he left and thanked us a ton. by far one of the best golfers to meet
Now he's the golfer I want to paly with most. These guys in the woods, shanking (like I would) and he's just supportive and chatty. What a gentlemanly player. Kudos

That was so sick! What a way to finish the round that was!
Years ago I was challenged by a college kid to play an 18 hole match for lunch. The rules were no strokes, I play out of my whole bag, and he plays with just an 8 iron. He was scratch and I was a 5. After a few holes, it was amazing how well he got on. As the match continued with me falling behind, I felt that I was being humiliated. This pressure got to me, which lead me to lose the match. I am not sure what the lesson was, but it sure opened my eyes to the creative and improvising part of golf.
Class Act! Rory’s always gives back. A true role model that has set the gold standard.
It’s really amazing how you watch these collab videos with all the diff CZcamsrs and tour players and you find out just how real and down to earth these guys really are. I think most of us think these guys are like not human or robots and really they are just people like you and I, they are just really good at golf!
Depends on which ones you are talking about. Most of these guys are like any other celebrity/pro-athlete meaning they are complete arrogant self centsred self absorbed diks when a camera isnt on them or rolling but once the camera comes on or they see one they turn on a fake persona cause wpuldnt be good for tjeir bran or publicity to get caught on camera being an absolute dick to someone for no reason
Rory oddly reminds me of my fave golfer Payne Stewart in many ways. Well done boys... well done

Fore play youtube videos and the pod are the best things going right now. They are must watch/listen. The 4 man against Homa was like the best movie I've seen in years. It's been mentioned a lot already but Rory is one freaking cool dude. Him going to pull the pin is all you need to know, so down to earth.

I used to do this on my home course when I wanted to play a quick 9 right before dark - sneakers, a Titleist, and my 7 iron. Good times - and lots of explaining to do whenever I DID catch up to a group in front of me!
Rory is so right about him as a caddy comment. I once played nine with a 4 hcp as my caddy. He knew the course incredibly and took 10 strokes off my score.
I loved watching yalls match vs Max. Awesome stuff. If yall got Rory to play yall that would be even better.

2. Listening to the things he says compared to amateur golfers really shows you how your players know right off the club how the ball will be
Everything about him is absolutely world class. He's a role model for all young golfers and for how people should carry themselves even surrounded by fame. I love him.

Ive had a few drinks with McIlroy when he used to go out in Belfast, Coyotes club in particular.
He was just starting out and to think where he is now and what he has achieved is mind blowing.
Rory is Awsome for the sport and life in general. Wish he would have won at St Andrews but it just wasn’t his day. Keep on keeping Rory, much respect.

I first saw Rory play in 2008 at Dubai - he was around 18 years old. He was quiet, shy and very talented. I predicted it wouldn't be long before he won his first pro tournament - which he duly did at Dubai the following year! It was no surprise he went on to win majors. Now he's bulked up, much stronger and hits the ball a mile. Comes across very well and grounded. Mind you playing this hole with a 6 iron wasn't easy...

I played with Rory's dad, Gerry a good while back and it's so obvious he provided Rory the proper training. All hats should be off to him.
