    I have tried this out and made a very small test batch. I am IN LOVE with this and in about a month of using it, my skin is much brighter, softer and I used to have a rash on my face which is now completely gone thanks to the soothing aloe vera gel! Now that it's all used up I will make it again as my skin is now closer to perfect than it's ever been! If anyone is looking for a quick and easy recipe on a perfect, light and smooth moisturizer, your search is over! I have tried to make a moisturizer infused with green tea, veeswax and heaps of melted oils and this is far better and doesn't make half as much mess! Thank you for this incredible recipe! I'm off to make the second batch!

    I do like the idea of DIY beauty product recipes! I didn't know you could mix aloe gel and oil to get such a creamy consistency. I like that this product is so simple to make and has no harmful ingredients.

    Absolutely LOVE this recipe! I use it everyday as a non-greasy day cream and general moisturiser. I chose frankincense and myrrh essential oils as well as a few drops of rosehip seed oil for their anti-aging properties. I also add in a little extra sweet almond oil during the winter months for extra moisturising effect :)

    I just made this! Used coconut oil, almond oil, bit of vitamin e oil and some tea tree oil, and aloe of course. Due to the melted coconut oil I had to put the cream in the fridge to make it a bit more solid, since it was really runny at first. Used it on my face right now and it feels really good! Will keep using it to see how it suits me over time! :)

      Is cosmetic grade aloe vera gel the same as normal aloe gel straight from the plant? Will fresh extracted aloe gel corrupt the cream or could it make an emulsion?

    • @rajeshsivan2925
      @rajeshsivan2925 Před 7 lety +4

      No don't use the aloe gel straight from the plant or else the mixture will turn extremely runny. I have tried it myself. The aloe gel from the store has a polymer called carbomer which will let oil and water mix together. USE THE ALOE VERA GEL STRAIGHT FROM THE PLANT AT YOUR OWN RISK.

    One poster said this cream isn't rich enough for the face. Not everyone needs a rich face cream. I live in a very hot & humid climate, this is exactly what I want & need for a daytime application. Can't wait to try it!
    Has anyone had the oil separate?
    Thanks!

    • @thevegancorner
      @thevegancorner  Před 9 lety

      +Cammy 806 Yeah, many people like to share their opinions in a way that I don't really enjoy at all times, because what's good for your might not be good for someone else, and that doesn't make the product bad for everyone. Also, there is absolutely no way that the oil will separate, so don't worry about that! Make sure to stir vigorously whilst you make it and you'll see that the cream will remain emulsified. I hope this helps, thanks for watching and for your comment :)

    Very nice recipe! So simple and easy. As I wrote you on instagram, I used to make my own cosmetics but they were a bit more complex and they needed a lot of time and attention that I don't have anymore, but this one can be done in few minutes and with so little ingredients that it would be very easy to make. Even so, if I can give you my humble opinion, maybe this cream is not rich enough to be used on the face. The facial skin needs a lot of nutritious and active ingredients so, maybe you could consider to add some vitamins of active ingredients to this base. Besides, for the body it looks very moisturizing. Said so, I'd like to tell you guys that you are amazing, your recipes are always so simple and yet, so delicious. Thank you for being so inspiring

    • @thevegancorner
      @thevegancorner  Před 9 lety

      Gioga76 I completely agree with you on that, and we would usually add at least some vitamin E to the preparation to make it more suitable to be used on the face. However we really wanted to share something super easy here and despite it might not be the most nourishing cream in the world, it is also not going to cause any issue to the skin due to the simplicity of the ingredients. Unless of course people are allergic to some of the ingredients. That being said, thank you very much for sharing your opinion with us, it means a lot! Thanks for watching

    This is such a good tutorial! Much easier than boiling beeswax with butters and measuring water like other tutorials! A tip would be to have fun with the oils and make blends with anything from olive oil that you have in your kitchen to avocado oil and rosehip seed oil. Each oil different amazing qualities that different skin types can benefit from! I can definitely recommend coconut oil and almond oil which are my favourites as they're extremly moisturizing but also grapeseed oil which is non greasy and jojoba oil wich matches our skin's natural sebum! Have fun!

      It is not straight from the plant I'm afraid; we used the last aloe vera leaf of few days ago whilst we were trying to develop this recipe. Here we used standard 99.9% aloe vera bottled gel.

    Oh yes, please... that's gold! I want more videos with DIY cosmetics. I've struggled with making my own foundation and now I'm totally lost, can't find any good vegan recipe. I'd try also this cream, but I bought aloe vera gel and it's very liquid and transparent, not like this one so I guess i wouldn't make a thick cream out of it... I have to experiment :D keep on doing great videos.

    Great idea! The Vegan Corner can be interpreted as a corner where "everything" Vegan goes, it's not only the 'Vegan food corner' or the 'Vegan all-you-can-eat corner'.
    I'm sure this series would be equally interesting and appreciated.
    One question: adding some Vitamin E (tocopherol) would help with shelf life?

    • @thevegancorner
      @thevegancorner  Před 9 lety

      francesca Ⓥ di leandro How interesting! It is clear to me that the Italians know a lot about DIY creams :) I'm saying this because you are the third Italian person who asked me about tocopherol. Being pure vitamin E a very powerful antioxidant, it will certainly make the cream last for longer. However, I've never considered tocopherol a "real" preservative, despite it does have some interesting properties. Anyway, I'd say that a concentration of 2-3% would surely make this cream last for longer :) Thanks for watching my friend
