  • Amongst literary classics that have become synonymous with their screen adaptations, we find films that have become classics in their own right.
When you think of Dorothy and Toto from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1900) or Scout, Atticus, and Jem Finch from To Kill A Mockingbird (1960), chances are that you picture the characters as they appear in their respective award-winning films.
These two stories, as different as they seem, share more similarities than meet the eye.

I never would’ve thought to compare The Wizard of Oz and To Kill a Mockingbird, but you did this so beautifully! Great video 😊💕

Thanks for sharing! The books of both titles are amazing! And the movie of "To Kill a Mockingbird" is so well done! As far as I know, Harper Lee herself was actively involved in it. And for the "The Wizard of Oz" I get the importance of the movie for the time it was released, but I will love to watch a film that is more faithful to the actual book, with an actress with the age of the main character.

I love your videos - they touch on what makes both the books and the films based on them special. My only complaint is I wish your videos were longer. I could listen to an hour of this. :)

Hi! I love your videos! Could you do a compare/contrast video of Breakfast at Tiffany's (the book vs movie) I think that would be awesome since a lot of people only know the movie version. Sorry, this video reminded me of Truman Capote since he's one of the characters in TKAM. Thank you!

I happen to love the entire “Oz” series. They were an important part of my childhood as well as my son’s. The movie was good, but it pales in comparison to the original book and all of the other Oz books. I loved both the book and the movie of “To Kill a Mockingbird” for very different reasons. The movie is one of my two top favorites. Gregory Peck WAS Atticus Finch as far as I’m concerned. I forgot that it was Peck playing Atticus in the film because he became the part in such an amazing way. The children were perfectly cast, and Robert Duvall was the best Boo Radley.

I'm actually a fan of the Oz books series than the movies.

Most Tarzan films focus more on both spectacle and action than on the whole story itself.
